It's been five days since Kyle Moorman and his three children disappeared.

As the days pass, the family's emotional plea for help grows stronger.

On Monday, the family gathered on the east side of Indianapolis to conduct another search for the 27-year-old and his three young children, 5-year-old Kyle Moorman II, 2-year-old Kyannah Holland and 1-year-old Kyran Holland.

"Regardless of the circumstances, we know a man and three young kids are dead tonight ... we don't know why and we don't know how," Bailey said at the scene. "I guarantee you, the detectives that are working behind me will do everything they can to provide answers to this family and to the community."

The circumstances of Moorman's and the children's deaths have not been made clear.

"This currently stands as a death investigation," the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in an update Wednesday afternoon. "Detectives are working to piece together what led up to this incident."

This reminds me of "Susan Smith". Only I think he committed suicide. I don't believe it was an accident. And I had the feeling he was responsible for what would turn out to be their deaths.
i agree. Looked and sounded that way from the get go. And he is found first before the poor beautiful children in the car, and separate of them.

it reminded me too of Susan Smith. That one crossed my mind throughout reading here but of course in her case, only her kids had to go...

Sad dam*ed world at times.

Such beautiful babies.

Every indication is this was a horrible accident.

if this was not public property. the owner had no responsibility to fix an embankment for others. If it was a public road, that would change and the entity responsible for the upkeep would be negligent.

I do believe that this was possibly just a tragic incident. Kids can be a distraction while driving. He could have simply looked back at them at the wrong time and misjudged the edge.

I must have missed some news on this or details, I haven't looked elsewhere or seen much except what is here and that they were found. So the car was out of gear and they went over an embankment? But he wasn't in the car right? At least not when found? How did he die? Drowning? Were the children all in the car?

I'm not doubting accident or otherwise, or being sarcastic or getting at anything, I truly don't know.

And were they on someone's private property or why are they saying any land owner should have had something fencing etc. the embankment?

Lost honestly. Last I think I knew here was this was some right in the city kind of lake or something wasn't it or no?

Well not such a mystery now. It doesn't give a range/level but does say "ACUTE" alcohol intoxication.

Fishing, driving and drinking with three children under the age of five, none of this sounds like a wise combination. Didn't he just win custody or something?

Tragic and avoidable. No judgment, it is just a shame. Those poor beautiful children and the poor family. May they all rest in peace and dad too.

Acute just means he had recently drank, instead of, for example, being a functioning alcoholic with a chronic / always high amount of alcohol in the system.
Just a fancy way of saying he was very drunk. Officially ruled an accident.

The deaths of an Indianapolis father and his three kids have been ruled an accident by the Marion County Coroner.

Wednesday, the Marion County Coroner said all four of their deaths were accidental, caused by drowning. Kyle also had acute ethanol intoxication.

A local doctor said acute ethanol intoxication is alcohol poisoning where the level of alcohol in the body prevents the body from functioning normally.

That's what I mean, meaning he didn't have just a beer or two. Had he survived he would be in jail right now facing charges I'd say.

I agree it was likely accidental although he did do an odd text or two with someone or FB message or some such. Regardless alcohol related no doubt.

Very sad. Three children with their lives ahead of them and he had a life ahead too.

I really don't get the excuse that it wasn't intentional. It WAS intentional to put drink after drink to your mouth and as an adult, you know what happens when you do this too many times. "Not intentional" seems to be a cop out for these cases.
