Mother shot to death, AMBER alert issued for missing 2-day-old baby

A mother is dead and her newborn baby is missing, according to state and Memphis authorities.

Danielle Hoyle, 27, and her 2-day-old baby, Kennedy Hoyle, were last seen in the area of Sedgewick Drive and Levi Road in Whitehaven.

Memphis Police confirmed Wednesday that a 27-year-old mother was found shot and killed near the vehicle, and her baby was missing. Family identified her by name.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an AMBER Alert for Kennedy on Wednesday morning.

Family members say the last time they heard from Hoyle was when she was taking Kennedy to the hospital on Tuesday evening.

“I just want my grandbaby, and I want my daughter to come home. That’s all I want. At least tell me what’s going on,” Hoyle’s mother said. “They said they got like 50 police looking for her. My thing is everybody should be looking for her. She’s a newborn”

Hoyle’s mother said a detective arrived at her residence late Tuesday to ask what car the woman drives and asked to identify her in a photo.

The family says MPD also told them that they found a body near Hoyle’s abandoned car but did not confirm the identity at the time.

“They said there was an active crime scene. I don’t even know where it is. They said they were gonna do fingerprints, and again try to figure out if it’s her,” Hoyle’s mother said.

Everything we know about a father accused of murdering his 2-day-old baby and child’s mother

Police said that they found Danielle’s car around 11 p.m. Tuesday night in the area of Sedgwick St. and Levi Rd. in Whitehaven. According to police, the driver’s side window of the car was broken out.

MPD traced the car back to Danielle and contacted her family who told police that they had not heard from Danielle since she left with her 2-day-old baby earlier that day, according to a police affidavit.

While police talked with Danielle’s family, an officer back at the scene discovered a woman on the side of the road, dead with a gunshot wound to the head, MPD said.

Police soon identified Isabelle, the father of 2-day-old Kennedy Hoyle, as a suspect and brought him in for questioning, Memphis Police reported.

While being questioned, Memphis Police said that Isabelle confessed to luring Danielle to the area and shooting her. According to the police affidavit, Isabelle then admitted to taking 2-day-old Kennedy Hoyle, driving to Island Park and the Upper Mud Island Boat Ramp and tossing the child into the water.

According to police, Isabelle tossed the gun used to shoot Danielle into the Mississippi River and Wolf River Delta.

Ya know, obviously people killing people is never good. They're always taking away someone's loved one. But it's an entire other level to be able to look at a precious newborn baby that YOU made, and make the CHOICE to kill that baby, because why? Cause your new girlfriend mad? Well now you're gonna be locked up for life so I guess that relationship isn't working out too well for ya either is it.
EXACTLY. Dumb murderous arses. There is no bonding there. The baby must be a "thing" to them and nothing but an obstacle. But HOW anyone looks at ANY newborn and can do that...! Or any infant... Or any child... The same with adults but CHILDREN....!! They weren't making a baby they were just spilling some seed ya know. Excuse my remark. Nah. I meant it.

And now to wait and see if the POed gf will be charged with anything too.

There is something I'm wondering. So if he lured her to the area, did he tempt her himself, as in I have some money for you or want to talk about our baby? Or did he use a ruse like it was someone else for something else? Because if she was willing to meet him, why did he end up having to bust the window out? Did she pull up and see he and his gf or something? Or she didn't expect him at all?

I'd like to know the specifics on that...

And is she actually even in the river or is that just the story he told them? I'm not sure if I believe him or not.
Agree, I never believe an "accused" or the perp. I thought the same, that maybe she is but he gave them the wrong spot or she isn't at all. It's anyone's guess, since he has admitted to the killings, I guess he could be telling the truth but maybe he decided not to after that...

I have the inkling he might be telling the truth... how could someone admit to such a horrible thing and not being true.......

also I wonder if she was on the way to the hospital because she might have felt the danger and wanted to keep the baby girl safe..?

He might be. I get what you mean, why would he come clean on one horrible part but not on another. He maybe though after coming clean on part decided before he got in any deeper to shut his mouth or lie...

One article said she was going to get some vaccinations.

Family members told WREG in Memphis that the last time they heard from Danielle Hoyle was Tuesday night when she left to take her daughter to go receive her shots.

Brandon Isabelle pleads not guilty to charges of killing newborn, mother of child

Brandon Isabelle, who is the father of a missing newborn baby, appeared in court Monday for allegedly killing his newborn daughter and mother of his child.

Isabelle, 25, pleaded not guilty before the judge. The judge announced in court that the hearing would be reset for Feb. 15.

MPD said Danielle Hoyle, 27, was found shot dead in a vehicle on Feb. 1 with her two-day-old newborn baby, Kennedy, nowhere to be found. Officers found an abandoned car seat at a Walmart in Whitehaven, which was later confirmed by family members to be Kennedy’s.

Hoyle was also the mother of a 10-year-old girl.

After court, Hoyle’s mother said she and Isabelle made eye contact during the court hearing.

“He looked me dead in the eyes. He knows who I am,” she said. “This never would have happened if had he not come back. He should have just stayed gone.”

Hoyle’s mother also said Isabelle spent time with Kennedy before she went missing.

“He got to hold her and everything,” she said. “How could you kill something that’s apart of you? If he didn’t want her, he should have just stayed gone. I never thought I would have to bury one of my kids.”

Isabelle admitted to killing Hoyle and throwing Kennedy into the water at the Upper Mud Island Boat Ramp before throwing the murder weapon into the Mississippi River and Wolf River Delta. However, his attorney says there are two sides to every story.

“We now begin from ground zero today, and we are hoping to get a copy of his statement, find out which officers questioned him,” Lauren Fuchs said. “His family has been very actively involved in getting with us, getting us retained so that he has someone to fight for him.”

Isabelle is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, murder in the perpetration of aggravated kidnapping and tampering/fabricating evidence.

Isabelle is currently being held without bond.

The body of the newborn baby Kennedy has not yet been found. Memphis Police said the search for newborn ended Sunday, pending any new leads.

Her grandmother said she hopes Kennedy’s body is found soon so she can be buried with her mother.https://wreg.com/news/local/family-...es-for-2-day-old-baby/?ipid=promo-link-block2

I've never heard of taking a two day old baby in for vaccinations...? It's two months the first ones... Was this a ruse?

According to the CDC schedule, babies will receive the first dose of the Hepatitis B vaccine at birth. Most babies also receive a Vitamin K shot at birth. If there was some reason it didn't happen right away (dealing with another issue, forgot, mom declined at first, etc.) they may have asked her to come back or she elected to do so.
But yes, the majority do start at 2 months.

I had to take youngest back in for a shot, but can't remember right now what it was. We were released before she could get it (less than 24 hours) and I had to take her back. Oldest had to take both of hers back since she went to a birthing center and were released after all vitals were stable. I had to wait for the shots with oldest before we could be released and that is the only reason why we were not released earlier in the day.

ETA it was a Hepatitis vax

I am sure a lot are getting released early now due to covid. They have to be 2 days old to get it.

I had to take lil man in after 2 days because he had jaundice.

Okay, yes. That makes perfect sense if they can't get it until they are 2 days old and people are released quickly because of Covid if they can be. In fact, pre-Covid, they don't keep people in the hospital as long as they used to and certainly not mothers who delivered and their babies if all went well. My second child I don't think I was in 48 hours either but for the life of me, I don't recall going back for shots until later, the 2 month mark most likely, but she may have had a one week check-up... I don't remember a hepatitis shot with my girls, when was that started I wonder? I thought the Vitamin K was given at birth. It makes sense though if this is the case.

However, if this was her destination, then either he knew about it (totally possible) or it could have been a ruse or he just blocked her en route or something? Or she also planned to meet him as well as go to the hospital... It doesn't seem planned if he had to break her window... I mean that she didn't agree to meet him.... So I still wonder about it being a ruse...

she most likely invited him to meet her there and he took advantage of it.

It looks like the Hep vax started being widely given to infants in the late 80s on second day of life, so you might have been close enough to that for them to give it to them before you were discharged.

Mine were born in the 80s but not the very late 80s. My doctor was also old school, he delivered me in fact lol. I truly think it was not given but I could be wrong.
