The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is leading the search for 16-year-old Kayla Huff, who was last seen at 7 a.m. Wednesday on County Road 2345 wearing a Nirvana t‐shirt. Huff is a black female with brown eyes and black hair. She is five-foot-four and weighs about 125 pounds.

Hundreds search Rudolf Bennitt Conservation Area for missing teenager​

Hundreds of volunteers, law enforcement and service members helped Friday in the search for 16-year-old Kayla Huff, who has been missing since May 6.

People searched on foot and horseback, and local law enforcement used drones to try and locate Huff.

Huff's last reported sighting was around 10:20 a.m. the morning of May 6, Randolph County Sheriff Andy Boggs said.

The Huff family said Kayla was not home and her car was abandoned on Rollins Street in front of the Assembly of God church in Moberly.

Boggs said investigators received information from the public that Huff may be in the Rudolf Bennitt Conservation Area. The area covers about 5.5 square miles near the junction of Boone, Howard and Randolph counties, according to the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Huff remains missing, and search efforts are ongoing. Volunteers and law enforcement officers are continuing to search the Rudolf Bennitt Conservation Area for her.

Search continues for missing Randolph County teen​

Volunteers were set to return to the Rudolf Bennitt Conservation Area in Randolph County to continue searching for a missing 16-year-old on Monday.

Kayla Huff has been missing since Wednesday. Dozens of volunteers have been searching the 3,500-acre conservation area southeast of Higbee on foot and horseback for the past several days. One volunteer also told ABC 17 News that officials were seen searching the air with drones and Bennitt Lake with boats.

Huff was reportedly last seen in her Moberly neighborhood with a 17-year-old boy. The poster describes Huff as 5 feet 7 inches tall with long braided hair.

Randolph County Sheriff's Office also arrested a 17-year-old on Friday in connection with Kayla Huff's disappearance. The sheriff did not disclose the person's gender.

The Sheriff's office did not respond to questions on whether the 17-year-old arrested was the same person last seen with Huff.

Three more people were arrested in connection with the disappearance of 16-year-old Kayla Huff, according to Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Luntsford.

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office investigated 19-year-old Hunter Tyne Ames, 23-year-old Christopher Alan Hull and 20-year-old Alayna Leann Mason for their suspected connection to the disappearance of the teenager.

A probable cause statement for the three first addressed that the investigation began after Huff was reported missing by her parents on May 6.

She was allegedly kidnapped by Mason and a juvenile suspect.

Mason and the juvenile suspect allegedly told Ames and Hull that the victim was transported in the trunk of their vehicle to Rudolf Bennitt Conservation Area, where they assaulted her with a baton and then shot her.

Deputies said that Ames and Hull both admitted to helping Mason and the juvenile suspect kidnap and get rid of evidence.

Court documents noted that each time they were interviewed, they would reveal additional information not mentioned in their previous talks.

Ames claimed that he, Hull, Mason and the juvenile suspect had driven to Huff's car on May 5 around 3 a.m.

Ames said that Mason put motor oil in the fuel tank of the teenager's red vehicle.

He further stated that on the late morning of May 6, Mason woke him up asking for his pistol and stated that she needed it to "take care" of someone in the trunk of their white Chevrolet Impala, according to a probable cause statement.

Upon her return to Ames' residence later that afternoon, she allegedly confirmed with him that they were discussing the shooting of Huff.

Online records added that video surveillance footage corroborated his statements.

Hull and Ames later told officials after the initial search warrant that the baton used in the assault had been left, as it was not mentioned in prior interviews, so Hull drove Ames to a rural area to discard it.

Deputies noted in court documents that the conservation area is densely wooded, and Mason began to develop a rash from suspected poison ivy from being in the woods following her arrest on May 7 for stealing a patrol vehicle. She was charged with Stealing – Motor Vehicle, Stealing – Firearm, and Escape From Custody While Under Arrest For Felony.

Mason was given the additional charge of First-Degree Kidnapping-Facilitating a Felony-Infliciting Injury-Terrorizing on Wednesday and continues to be held without bond.

Ames and Hull were charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution and First-Degree Kidnapping-Facilitating a Felony-Infliciting Injury-Terrorizing.

A 16-year-old girl reported missing in Randolph County has been found dead, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities identified the victim as Kayla Huff, who was last seen around 10:20 a.m. May 6.

"On behalf of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, I want to extend our deepest condolences to Kayla’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," said Andy Boggs, Randolph County Sheriff.
