This woman who was driving her car must have taken Katelyn to the airport and then Katelyn gave her the dog and car too. So they still don't know who this woman is?

Ah @GrandmaBear I see you just said that too.

Also, the mum calling her "my little girl" seems a bit weird to me. She's 35 for goodness sake.

I bet it is something to do with drug trafficking.
"This momma's heart is painfully worried". While any family would be worried, I agree, there are tones here that seem a bit over for a 35 year old woman who left on her own. She also doesn't feel she is safe despite LE telling her so. It strikes me as overly controlling perhaps. Most cases where an adult women goes missing voluntarily this seems to be the case, the family is too controlling. We've seen it before. I agree this one has shades of that or i suspect as much. Or that the person is in trouble of some kind would be another reason but the reaction of her mother seems a bit "over" and is more likely I think.

IF she left her car at the airport it would eventually be found...

I'm sorry but if she left willingly her family has no say in such whatsoever. It would seem as though she doesn't want contact with them as there has not been any.

I don't know that it has to do with any trafficking, why do you think that? Is there something I missed?

I call my sons “my baby boy” once in a while. Especially if they’re in distress.

The moment I saw she went to Thailand, I thought about trafficking because I’ve seen quite a few videos on trafficking in Thailand and I’ve been told by people who have actually gone over there that it’s a big problem.

And as I said before, coupled with the fact that the dog was left to die and another woman, who we still don’t know her name, was driving her car claiming to be her. A bunch of red flags, if you ask me.

She definitely is not making good decisions to begin with, if they are all voluntary. Their feeling that she is not 100% safe, might mean they don't believe she is safe from herself right now, too.

I see how you could line those things up to wonder that. Trafficking generally isn't of women of her age though for someone to go to that extent or risk. I mean I take it you mean someone took her or forced her? Onto a flight or a boat? Or did some man pretend to care about her and she went willingly?

It's a possibility I suppose but I'd think they could find younger girls and in other places. I remember when Barry Morphew tried to push the narrative Suzanne was likely taken as she was attractive and that someone trafficked her. Most scoffed that sure, someone took an older woman in the middle of nowhere on the road in a small mountain community.

And then who is the woman? One of the trafficking ring and she stays behind and finds women? Not wise for traffickers to be driving a missing woman's car around imo. I think it was more likely a friend or even sister if she had one.

Anything is possible but I don't find it likely. I do allow for that there may be a man in the picture though.

We don't know enough either. Did she have her passport? Did she fly alone?

I can't recall the name of the case, probably because it didn't last long but there was a young woman once and her bf her parents did not approve of if I recall. They found them in I think CA and she made it clear she wanted no contact with her family as was her right and that was the end of the case. However, the parent/s put it out there that she was likely with him so people were on the watch for him as well when she was missing. Nothing like that was said here I don't think.

Maybe I missed something though? I also guess I assumed you were talking sex trafficking, not drug.

I only think that ( drug trafficking i am thinking of) because of where she is heading - Thailand. I see @Kimster suspects some kind of trafficking too.

Hmm. Drugs though right you are thinking? Not sex?

I could see her being involved in something but I don't see her as likely kidnapped I guess. She's been found and LE (at least here I imagine Canada is the same) generally try to ascertain the missing adult is all right and where they are of their own free will and choice if it is found they left and I'd think they determined that. It also seems to me the mom is saying what she is publicly trying to get her to contact them as she apparently wants no contact with them and the mom has no power to make her do so.
.
I've watched as I think I said above travel videos of Thailand. I suspect like most places they have their safer zones and their areas one is wiser not to go.

I just feel like I'm missing something maybe others know. LE was able to talk to her and so she is alive and was able to be contacted. I guess I just don't see any reason to think it's anything more than her wanting to be there and her going willingly.

I do wish we knew more like if she'd ever been there before.

I was thinking sex trafficking, but drug trafficking is huge there, too. With women, sometimes the two go hand-in-hand.

This is a UK article about Thailand and the drug smuggling boom.

Okay so it's weed. Pretty stupid for young travelers to bring suitcases full of it to the UK.

If Mulder wanted to live a weed filled life, she could have just went to Colorado. Many other states have followed suit and allow it at least on some level, some with less restrictions than others but Colorado is known for it. If she was bringing it home, she has no international border to get through either.

A flight from Colorado to Thailand is 20 to 30 hours.

Also as of June 2025 you now need a medical prescription for weed there, they tightened the regulations.

True but I still haven't heard much reason to think it applies to this case. I just don't see it I guess. I keep thinking I missed something that would indicate that.

She's at Phuket, Thailand. Per her mom's FB. Some other little details: She's a dental hygienist, and has very recently drastically altered her appearance. You also need a passport to get into Thailand.

The dark hair photos are her new look.

Thailand's largest island, many tourists visit and many attractions and gorgeous white sand beaches. Population about 450,000.

Her change in appearance is drastic. However if you were not wanting to be found, it might do the trick or work for that.

Did she get her lips plumped?

Yes. Her mom said they were freshly plumped in the pic I attached and might have been swollen.

As an aside, that looks so uncomfortable.

Thanks. It does look uncomfortable.

To me, that's just further indication she was planning some new life and/or did not want to be found.

Whether she was planning a smart or safe life, well that's debatable.
