Gunter moved to Casper from Nevada about a month ago to be closer to her children. She failed to pick them up from the Boys & Girls Club on Oct. 29, 2026. She was last heard from the morning of Oct. 29, 2026. Gunter and the father of her children had split up, but she was living in the same house in Casper as her ex and helping care for her young children, aged 9 and 6. Because she was so new to WY, she knew no one in Casper.

Gunter and her sister Kayla are very close and speak to each other on the phone at least 3 times every day, according to Kayla. There has been no contact from Kandice since Oct 29. She may be driving a gray 2016 GMC Canyon with temporary WY plates.

Kandice's cell phone last pinged in the general area of Gillette around noon on Oct. 29. She is 5'7" with black hair and blue eyes and weighs about 185 lbs. Kandice has numerous tattoos on her legs, arms, and feet. She has a distinctive butterfly tattoo on her neck and a memorial tattoo in honor of Kandice's and Kayla's late mother on the side of her neck, according to Kayla.

Anyone with information about Kandice Gunter's whereabouts can contact the Casper Police Department at 307-235-8278 or Wyoming DCI at 307-777-7181.

I have so many questions.

When did the kids move to Wyoming? When did she stop having custody of her kids? How well did she get along with her ex and why did they divorce? Why was it thought to be a good idea for her to live in the home with her ex if they couldn’t get along when they were married?

I’ll just start with those questions. I have more.

I want to know where they find the truck first. And how much water is in the area? Could she have gone off the side of the road?

“She is believed to be traveling in a gray 2016 GMC Canyon pickup truck with Wyoming temporary registration”

I have questions too. Where in Nevada did she move from? I notice they reference "father of her children" not "ex-husband." They aren't mentioning a divorce. It looks like Gillette is northeast of Casper.

It looks like Gillette is about 126 miles from Casper. So about 90 minutes to 2 hours drivetime depending on traffic and if the driver followed the speed limit the whole way. Kayla said she last spoke to Kandice around 10:30 ish in the morning. The phone pinged in or near Gillette at right around noon or a little before noon. So Kandice's phone made it to Gillette or very close to it. What we don't know is if Kandice had her phone with her, Kandice was with someone, or someone else had Kandice's phone in Gillette.

Wyoming mom reported missing after not picking up kids; sister, police search for answers

A Wyoming mother of two has been reported missing for days after she failed to pick up her children from an after-school program, prompting her sister to raise the alarm.

Kandice Gunter, 30, was last seen Thursday morning in Natrona County, according to the Casper Police Department. Her sister, Kayla Gunter, told Cowboy State Daily she reported her missing after Kandice did not collect her children, ages 9 and 6, from the Boys & Girls Club on Wednesday.

"That's why I started freaking out," Kayla told the paper. "It's totally out of character for her not to show up to get her kids."

Police said Gunter was last known to be traveling in a gray 2016 GMC Canyon pickup with a Wyoming temporary registration. Her cellphone was last located around 12:30 p.m. MT on Friday along Highway 387, near the Natrona County line.

The sisters last spoke by phone at 10:41 a.m. local time Wednesday. Kayla said the conversation gave no indication anything was wrong, and Gunter stopped answering calls afterward. The family was also told her phone pinged near Gillette around noon Wednesday, according to the report.

Gunter had reportedly moved from Nevada to Casper about a month earlier to be closer to her children. She had been staying with their father and helping care for them.

Missing woman found dead after Casper Mountain Road crash, police say

A 30-year-old woman reported missing late last week was found dead Sunday morning after her vehicle broke through a guardrail on Casper Mountain Road, police said.

The Natrona County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Kandice Gunter, who had been missing since Oct. 29.

First responders were called to the scene along Wyoming Highway 251 near Lookout Point around 9:20 a.m. Responding crews found the vehicle down the hillside and discovered Gunter inside. She was pronounced dead at the scene and was the only person in the vehicle.

The crash forced authorities to reduce traffic on the mountain road to a single lane Sunday morning while recovery crews worked the steep slope.

The circumstances of the wreck and Gunter’s cause of death remain under investigation, according to the Casper Police Department. Police said there is no evidence to suggest foul play or the involvement of any other person.
