Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

That's as close to a normal pic of him as I've ever seen. Lips aren't upturned really but a bit more natural than his buttoned up sh*t and expressionless behavior since day one in court. I don't wish his children ILL but I hope they get a clue as to what everyone else sees. is this the site here that I have things changing my words or my computer? I tried to type ILL in sall letters just for one of several and had it change it ever time to I'll. and not the only one. and no I am not a phone.

I can't help but think Tammy in the last months or certainly at the end did maybe start to see it. She may have been so LDS whatever and his grandma said this or do this or that and the man that she didn't dbout where she even yelled for Chad and thought it was a paintball gun and the kids would even have been raised far MORE SO in belief and trust.

How do you let kids have a childhood and teach even adults not to be naive while ensuring most of the world is good.

In every case, it gets away from the victims and becomes about the perps. It's natural, that's the process.

RIP JJ and TYLEE. CHARLES. JOE. ALEX is a bit harder to say that for as he was likely a big part of this but perhaps played.

Brandon survived.

Just taking a moment for the victims rather than the APRIL FOOL. I hope the State is prepared. They did great in Lori's but Archibald gave little to no defense.

I think they are both evil to the core but if made to choose I think he is worse. I don't see a worst honestly but so many almost forgive him for being beguiled and that isn't the case here at all. I do suspect it will e part of the defense's though. Just a dumb man beguiled by an aging blonde who played him. NOT. They both need to GO. And I don't mean happily on their way.

BOISE — Judge Steven Boyce has issued a gag order in the Chad Daybell case after his defense attorney participated in a media interview this week.

John Prior, Daybell's lawyer, spoke with KIVI-TV on Tuesday about how he and Daybell met, whether Lori Vallow Daybell could be called as a witness and other aspects of the trial.

On Thursday, Boyce issued a non-dissemination order prohibiting "any party to this case, including the prosecuting attorney, defense attorney, and any attorney representing a witness, victim, or victim's family" from making written or oral statements about the case until April 15 or after opening statements have been made.

"Questionnaires have now been completed by prospective jurors who are admonished to avoid further media exposure to the case, or investigation into this case," Boyce wrote. "The court is now advised, and has confirmed, that counsel for the defense participated in an interview with a reporter about this case, which interview has now been publicly broadcast during this stage where unbiased jurors are being sought."

Daybell was moved from the Fremont County Jail to the Ada County Jail last week ahead of the trial. Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday and could last up to two weeks.

Boiy after waiting forever, this one is ON US and starting. I could be wrong but I don't expect this one to be lacking fireworks and probably starting right out with jury selection. If I had a way to do it, I would take weeks off just to watch it.

Different than Lori's in many ways. First and foremost it will be live. Lori and Archibald didn't really put up much of a case or fight whch still is pretty surprising. This one I think will be different. Guesses? I'd guess they will throw Lori under the bus although I'm not sure she isn't okay with and expects it, all for Chad.

I could be wrong but I don't think in the cases of these two most of us disagree on their guilt.

I'd think one if not more than one kid of his will be required and subpoenaed to testifiy. What else will differ? It remains to be seen.

It still is hard to fathom Chad and Prior wanting televised in this case. I think all always should be but why would they want it? Prior I guess could be an attorney who wants that attention who knows but Chad?

Will the other Mel have to take the stand this time or no? (no offense @Mel70 you are a better breed and far different kind of Mel than the two here).

Is the prosecution ready? I think so. They've done it once and did it well but then they had little opposiion. I hate to say that but it is fact. However, the facts exist and are there for prosecution and conviction.

Does Chad or Prior or Chad's kids think he may go free? Imo that won't happen with the facts in these cases insofar as we know them anyhow.

It;'s interesting that this one has had shows, documentaries, almost all witnesses and family talking at one point or another and so many, and a movie and so on, yet some you know nothing of the case. Of course we all already "saw" but did not see live, Lori tired. So did Chad and Prior.

It is just hitting me we are actually on the cusp of this one. There go my nights and mornings of watching all to catch up and stay abreast.

One part of justice has been attained for these poor kids and Tammy with Lori's conviction and now hopefully the other player will end with same and even the DP. I mean that's what these two gave the victims--imo--death.

Another thing of note is how Prior said he was going to have to quit because of lack of funds and DP and more. And how Chad is indigent and so on, I guess the house and so on was not enough. Coming up in more than one case lately and Prior was and is no public defender but privately retained. Things should be fair I don't disagree even in this one where guilt imo is so clear. Jmo of course.

I guess like said, it just hit me that this is about to start.

These two evil people destroyed so many and changed their world or took how many off this earth. His children's mother. The children of his aging bleached "paramour".

I also dont' think that all who should be charged here have been or ever will be.

Imo the Mels are guilty as sin and Zulema and others are as well and likely David. Remember it was all just some weird bad dream he had. I've always thought that significant.

Anyhow....

It is upon us and I will certainly be trying to keep up and see the news and updates and probably won't fully but I am sure going to try.

I can't believe we are on the cusp of this, starting tomorrow. I don't know why since we already had Lori's but hers was not live, we've no defense was put on and there was no DP and so on.

I didn't initially watch the one of Nate's posted above as I figured it would just be the usual coverage and things we all already know but I did today and It was well worth it. He showed his first report on the case and some different things that seeing now is quite something and shared some thingsd I don't think we knew or if I did I forgot. It was a VERY GOOD show for those who haven't watched it. And I think he has had a few others since which I haven't had time to watch.

I wish I had all the weeks off to watch this trial. I'm going to have to count on the coverage night and morning to catch up and use all my spare moments I am guessing. I don't try with all but I managed most of Harmony's and when it is a case I followed from early on, I try.

Prior claims he is going to give a fight and I'm waiting to see. Another thing is that TAmmy's sister was subpoenaed by the defense so she can't attend until testifying if they ever even have her do so. That could be just a total game and entirely easy to do.

While we have seen several hearings and pics of toad like smiling but still Chad, I don't think we have the same pic of him that Lori has gone all out and sown at times. It's just DIFFERENT.

Nate's show linked above by @Kimster said too how they were on Chad early on about the disappearance of Lori's kids. And about Tammy. This case has been so convoluted and so long with so many in it that I'm not sure I recalled that but he also gives the byplay of Hawaii in more details and it was just GOOD.

PRAYING for more justice for TYLEE and JJ and TAMMY. For all their victims but in this one that's who he is being tried for. I'm jealous of anyone who is actually able to watch it all.

Sooooo interesting. A question asked is if how he would feel if Lori had been facing the DP and whether he could do it and more. A bit of good discussion on that.

I watched it last night. I probably won’t miss any courtroom insiders. Not if I can help it anyway.
Going to try not to either even if watching late or if I get behind. When did he start using that name? Seems new to me, don't recall hearing it until recently.

He had the jury part live today and I found it and watched literally about five minutes on a break. They were questioning some juror about his belief in the DP (and he did believe in it). It got to be Prior's turn and he asked some questions of course with that as they aren't going to want anyone who would go DP before life in prison, and if he'd always do that, vary depending, etc. Yada, yada. Two or three questions and I was like already can you spit out your question already? I saw someone in chat saying the same lol (wasn't in it) and that she isn't going to be able to take him if that's how he is at trial. Had to agree in my mind.

I expect this to be fiery as I recall the taste of him in the prelim and don't underestimate him but if he's like this or there's periods like that with him not getting to his point maybe not all parts will be lol.

I'm not going to try to watch all recordings of jury selection but to only stay abreast of how many they have and any news Nate seems significant each day on it. It's going to be hard enough to rewatch days of testimony for weeks and I hope to try but it may be impossible for me. I managed in Harmony's. I missed the first few witnesses but then saw basically all but I had to invest every night and morning and not sure I can do that here. And for so long.

It HAS started though and IS going off on April Fools' Day and ON TIME this time. We are really there. It seems a bit surreal. Lori's should have but I think because we coudln't watch it, and the Wests and Gannon's went on at the same time and no defense resulted, it didn't strike me like wow this has really started as it started without being able to see a thing and for some various reasons I think.

Chad is also the more stoic one sometimes with a cheeseating rare grin on excuse me his buttoned up tight collared toad face but she's Ms. Bobblehead and attention seeker. And they went for speedy even though it took how long so I guess I didn't see that hers finally went off as unusual. I really expected possibly more games and delays here n this one, at least at first. I mean right up to Prior going on about Chad's indigency, no money for him to get help, a DP case, and he having to go through all himself I figured that's where we were headed... For more delays. Not too long ago.

Anyhow, I guess it's here. Just getting both these two on any life sentence and a real prison term would be a relief. I want and expect to see the whole enchilada though, guilty on all charges and a good chance of the DP as well.
