Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

• April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.
• December 2018 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow make first appearance on Preparing a People podcast.
• February 2019 - Charles Vallow files for divorce from Lori, claiming she viewed herself as a god preparing for the second coming, and she would kill him if he got in her way.
• February - April 2019 - Lori disappears for nearly two months, leaving her children with others.
• June 2019 - Lori's niece demands a divorce from her husband, who says she shares similar beliefs to her aunt.
• July 11, 2019 - Charles Vallow shot and killed by Lori's brother Alex Cox. Shooting initially ruled self-defense.
• August 2019 - Lori moves to Rexburg, Idaho with kids
• September 3, 2019 - Joshua "JJ" Vallow enrolled in school
• September 23, 2019 - JJ last attended school
• September 24, 2019 - Lori unenrolls JJ from school, saying she would be homeschooling him.

• October 2, 2019 - Lori's niece's ex-husband was shot at, missing his head by inches. Shooter was driving a vehicle registered to Charles Vallow.
• October 9, 2019 - Tammy Daybell, Chad's wife, called 911 and said a masked man shot at her with a paintball gun.
• October 19, 2019 - Tammy Daybell dies, death is ruled natural
• October 25, 2019 - Tylee, or someone using her phone, texts a friend
• Late October / Early November 2019 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow get married
• November 26, 2019 - Welfare check requested for JJ at the request of extended family - police are told he is in Arizona with family, but he is not
• November 27, 2019 - Police return to serve a search warrant, finding the Daybell's gone
• December 12, 2019 - Lori's brother, who had shot her ex-husband, dies mysteriously in Arizona
• December 20, 2019 - Search for JJ and Tylee goes public
• December 30, 2019 - LE says Lori knows where her children are but will not cooperate
• January 25, 2020 - Chad & Lori are located in Hawaii, served with a notice that she must produce the children within 5 days

But what bothers me IS Tylee coming out with the bat. Did they know she WOULD? If she heard arguing or a commotion? Was she set up TO DO THAT? Or they knew she would?

To change direction a bit the thing that always bothered me here is that Alex went back to his bedroom to get his gun in their story. To ME, that is not and never could be self defense. I have never understood why he was not arrested that day based on JUST that.

If he had time to go get his gun, it is not self defense, he could have exited if he had that amount of time. He wasn't being attacked, he could go do it, etc., etc. no problem. THAT is my key thing about him not being arrested that day and at least charged minimally with manslaughter or something while they figured it out. It is forming an intent, he wasn't being attacked if he could do that, etc.

That's assuming their story is even the truth--but they fail in that part of it. So what was wrong with that LE?????????????

How do you know they didn't get him to enter the house and he was ambushed right then and the phone taken? While Tylee took JJ to the car? There are all sorts of other scenarios that could have went on here. I don't take perp's words for anything. I could give many alternative possibilities. This is a hostile for lack of a better word relationship. Not an easy one. Why wouldn't it be that Charles never had to enter the house and Lori had JJ ready and was to bring him out? There was something back when I can't recall of why he had to enter, they made him enter somehow and it was likely to get JJ. Or he entered and laid his phone down as he wanted to get a recording as they hoped for the intervention it is really hard to know or say. I mHis ean all of the others there are DEAD. I just don't take the word of the bunch that did this. Hope you understand that.

Kay thinks he was ambushed, most people do. But we can wonder WHEN also. Larry thinks Lori took the second shot. People dont trash Tylee except for Lori for the most part and I will NEVER, she was in the grips of a monster, but I don't take the word of any of them. There may be pieces of truth in their story but we know it isn't all true correct? I'm not sure why you are assuming any of it is. We are never going to know because Lori isnt a truth teller and she is the only one left that was there. That's pretty interesting in and of itself isn't it....?

Tylee was STUCK and even her extended family wouldnt and couldnt' help her (ignore typos). They were all victims but man do I feel for her and they totally abused her body and all else and her. Colby has said her and lori's relationship was never great and she was always trying to get her mom's favor. There's a lot out there that adds to this all. TONS from familly members.

Never ever ever. She was though in Lori's clutches and I'm not going to absolutely rule out anything although I mostly have and I agree, I think her innocent and just reacting to an argument and played. If I have NOT made that come across then i really failed. She has always been and would seem to be the most truthful. I HAVE watched these things. Tylee was a victim pure and simple. No doubt about it. I will come down on chad's kids but not Tylee. EVER. I want that clear. But she was stuck. And I allow for that. Watch some Colby, some Adam. If I made it seem like I thought her an intentional perp, then I wrote wrong. NEVER would I do that. I think she may have reacted in the self defense way or was primed for it. That's ALL.

Like I said try some of Adam's and Colby's. I come down on some kids in cases (under 18) but for a reason if there is one but never, ever, ever, would i consider Tylee a perp. I do think she couldn't find an escape though. This girl was STUCK. I mean what is she to do? If she left then JJ had no one. And who knows if she knew him labeled dark.

I don't want ANYONE thinking I think Tylee was some wanting to intentional perp. NEVER would I think that. I hope that's clear.

I have watched everything there is on this case. I haven't on all cases but I have on this one.

In what sounded at times like an unmoderated family therapy session, Lori Vallow Daybell’s surviving son spoke with his mother for the first time in four years in a conversation recorded for his new podcast, “The Scar Wars Podcast.”

In the searing hour-long conversation,” which Colby Ryan called an interview, Vallow Daybell insisted that she had nothing to do with the deaths of 16-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old JJ Vallow, that she’d had multiple personal conversations with Jesus, and that the entire case against her was “way out of proportion.”

Vallow Daybell, speaking by phone from the Maricopa County jail in Arizona, told her son she came upon JJ and Tylee after both were already dead — and that she believed Tylee had killed her brother “by accident” and then killed herself.

“Can you imagine coming in on that scene? Can you imagine as a mother?” she said. “Imagine you come in and find two of your children deceased.”

“When I came in on that scene and they were gone, I thought Tylee did it to get back at me,” she said. “I thought it was all my fault. I thought she was mad at me and that is what had happened.”




Afterward, she said, Tylee and JJ came to her and “told me it wasn’t my fault.”

Vallow Daybell said she doesn’t know how Tylee’s body ended dismembered and burned and JJ’s stuffed into a bag and buried on the property of her fifth husband, Chad Daybell, because “I just ran out.”

Asked why she didn’t tell this story before, she said she was protecting Tylee “as her mother who has protected her her whole life.”

Vallow Daybell was convicted earlier this year of murder and conspiracy in the deaths of the two children and Chad Daybell’s first wife, Tammy Daybell, as CrimeOnline reported. She was sentenced to three life terms and promptly extradited to Arizona, where she is now awaiting trial for conspiracy in the death of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, and the attempted murder of her niece’s ex-husband, Brandon Boudreaux.

Daybell was also convicted in the deaths of the children and his wife and has been sentenced to death.

Ryan did not make it clear if his mother knew the conversation was being recorded from the start, although near the end, he told he was planning on sharing it publicly.

The first part of the conversation contained rambling snippets of Vallow Daybell’s earlier life with her children. Colby remained calm throughout the entire hour but broke down near the end, after his mother was no longer on the phone. Early on, she told her son that there was “higher knowledge for people who need to know it.”

“People who don’t need to know it, don’t need to know it,” she said. “It comes directly from Jesus to me. It doesn’t come from any other source. It comes from Jesus Christ directly to me.”

Vallow Daybell later said that she’d had multiple direct conversations with Jesus and that he’d given her a job to do. Later, she said, she was visited by Lucifer, who told her he intended to stop her from doing the job.

“This is my mission, and my mission will be revealed as some point to everybody,” she said, adding that there’s “nothing I could have done differently.”

She also insisted she is “not crazy” and “never was,” although she was twice declared incompetent to stand trial and sent to a state facility for treatment.

“When i was at the hospital I met lots of people — I wouldn’t call them crazy; they had mental disorders,” she said. “I do not.”

Vallow Daybell did not testify at her trial, but she made a statement during the penalty phase. At that time, she also discussed her life with her children and insisted that “no one was murdered.”

“Accidental deaths happen,” she told the court. “Suicides happen. Fatal side effects from medications happen.”

TYLEE did NOT do this. This is known, I listened to her b.s. with Colby. Her trying to blame it on her. As apparently she did in Dateline too which I have no desire to hear. This is not new. Listen to her actual thing with Colby. It's disgusting.

TYLEE is innocent.

I admit there are a lot i haven't listened to like Colby Rex and Annie but i have listened to the relevant ones for this Chandler case.

I just can't go back in this one. I mean a person could get down a hole forever and a year. Adam's was worth it, I admit that, I almost did not listen to it. Relistening to Alex, Lori and Tylee might be too, I admit that, but I just can't.

I didn't even add like Megan's and others.

I've taken it all in. Everything I could ever find i watched every single minute of. So pretty sure I put them on here.

And I can't direct you to the right things, there has been so much. I did mention Janice and Summer had interviews. I can't direct you to where though. This case has been over the top for years. I think for the families and most who have followed, it is just where it needs to be done. She needs to go away and shut up.

I AM sure over the years I have posted all the things to watch or linked them.

I just can't revisit it.

Adam's I did listen to and it was worth it and all probably would be but again, just can't. It did remind me of some things. Maybe at another time when it is all over.

I know though I reached my conclusions due to watching all. I know it might be worth it but I just can't revisit all the tons in this case/s.

Barely keeping up with life. But even if I was, I wouldn't. It was all too much, over the top, and wouldn't even know where to find it all but I also don't want to.

Not on what has been being talked about here but Colby is upset at the rumors re his wedding. Interestingly he said Lori was to do all the girls' hair but kept disappearing. He shows pictures showing TYLEE WAS there as it has been said she wasn't. He said he is going to address the thing about Adam next. I am in the middle of it.

I can't blame him for irritation with rumors. It is fairly short but worth a watch.

I probably watched those interviews three times and for sure at least two. There is no case on here I probably know better and even the witnesses are having trouble thinking how many years back.

Well I dozed off again for absolutely no reason I can fathom. It is worrying me a lot. No idea at all what is causing such.

You know me well enough that you know i'm not trying to argue as to this case. I just am not in a place I can revisit everything I already saw. If I can do anything at all, I want to keep up on the trial itself.

Adam's was worth it, they probably all would be in relation to this case. But I just can't.
