Cold Case: OSBI offers $10,000 in 2020 homicide of Jennifer Jesse

The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation is offering $10,000 for information regarding the suspicious death of 30-year-old Jennifer Jesse.

Authorities say, today marks five years since Jesse’s death and is offering a reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for Jesse’s death.

OSBI increases reward for 2020 Union City murder as leads run dry

Five years ago on Tuesday, the discovery of a 30-year-old's body shocked a community.

Jennifer Jesse was found dead on the side of a Union City road. Now, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is stepping up its efforts to help find her killer.

In 2021, state investigators asked the public for help finding some people walking out of a Braum's. None of those leads led to anything solid, but they are still trying to figure out why Jesse's body was found shot in Union City.

"The Union City police originally responded to that case when they got a call from a passerby who found Jennifer Jesse’s body," said Hunter McKee, the OSBI spokesperson.

The scene has changed in the five years since Jesse was found along Southwest 44th Street and Gregory Road, but evidence against her killer has not.

"Investigators went out and transported Jesse’s body to the ME’s office where they determined that she had been shot multiple times," McKee said.

Since that discovery, the OSBI has offered up to $5,000 rewards for information, but the agency has not had any luck yet. Now, they are increasing that reward.

“As we continue to look into this, we’re putting it at $10,000, so anybody that has information that can help us lead to the arrest and the conviction of Jesse’s murderer," McKee said.

Everything in the case has dried up, and investigators said they want justice and closure for Jesse's family.

"We’re just doing everything we can to get somebody maybe to speak out. We always say that somebody knows something," McKee said.

But he said it's tougher in a rural area that has no cameras.

"It’s just trying to piece together what had exactly occurred, where she was prior to us finding her deceased body and why somebody would do this and would shoot her," McKee said.
