The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued a Turquoise Alert for 21-year-old Isabella Comas on Tuesday night.

DPS said she was reported missing after she didn’t pick up her friend for work like she usually does. She also didn’t show up for work on Monday, and no one could reach her by phone.

Troopers said her cellphone was tracked and found, but there was no sign of Comas. Avondale PD said her car, a red 2011 Hyundai Sonata, was recovered on Tuesday night near 67th Avenue and Indian School Road.

The turquoise alert was established due to the murder of Emily Pike. Kudos to AZ for getting things passed fast and creating such.

So she was reported wearing one set of clothing but when they found the surveillance video, she was wearing something different. Makes one wonder who gave the initial clothing description and how and when she changed. And where. Did she go home unbeknownst to someone or was the person reporting what she was wearing wrong?

I mean it in the nicest way but the hair color and the nose ring should make it easy for anyone seeing her to identify her.

Avondale is a major bedroom suburb of Phoenix per Google. Kind of figured, there are several "dales".

Praying she turns up safe.

Isabella Comas: Police name boyfriend person of interest in her disappearance

The Avondale Police Department says 21-year-old Isabella Comas' boyfriend is a person of interest in her disappearance.

Comas went missing on Jan. 11 at around 3 p.m. when she was last seen leaving a friend's home near Van Buren Street and Avondale Boulevard.

On Jan. 12, Comas' phone was found at a Phoenix recycling center. The next day, a Turquoise Alert was issued for Comas.

On Jan. 15, police said Comas' boyfriend, Tommy Rodriguez, 39, of Phoenix, was deemed a person of interest. According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office website, he's been arrested on unrelated charges.

Person of interest ID’d in case of missing woman from Avondale

The Avondale Police Department confirmed Thursday that it has identified a person of interest in connection with the disappearance of 21-year-old Isabella Comas, who sparked a Turquoise Alert earlier this week.

Authorities said they spoke with a “romantic partner,” who was identified as a 39-year-old man from Phoenix. Arizona’s Family is not naming him because it’s unclear if he’s facing charges in connection with her disappearance.

In a department news release, detectives also said Comas’ phone was tracked to a recycling facility in Phoenix.

“We will continue to share information as it is developed once we can ensure it won’t be a hindrance to the investigation,” said Ofc. Jaret Redfearn in a prepared statement. “We greatly appreciate the community’s ongoing support and encourage anyone with information to continue responding to her Turquoise Alert. The tips received so far have been extremely helpful in moving this case forward.”

Person of interest in case of missing Avondale woman reportedly taken into custody

The man identified by police as a person of interest in the search for missing Avondale woman Isabella Comas has reportedly been taken into custody on charges related to the case.

The Avondale Police Department revealed Thursday it spoke with Tommy Rodriguez, 39, a romantic partner of Comas, and that he is considered a person of interest in the case.

Rodriguez was later taken into custody on charges of auto theft and criminal damage related to Comas’ car, according to ABC15.

The TV station reported that Rodriguez is being held on a $50,000 secured bond.

Additionally, court records obtained by ABC15 showed that Rodriguez has a lengthy criminal history. He previously served over a decade in prison for second-degree murder and pleaded guilty in 2020 to stalking after he threatened an ex-girlfriend with multiple weapons, including a machete and a hammer.

Said it doesn't sound good and now it really does not sound good.

A machete. Smh. Hammer too. We have a bad man here.

Isabella Comas: Search for missing woman expands to Gila County

Police say 21-year-old Isabella Comas, who was last seen leaving a friend's house in Avondale, is believed to be seriously injured.

Avondale Police officials say physical evidence led them into Gila County, where they are trying to narrow in on a location where Comas could be.

Authorities say time is of the essence to help her.

"Right now, we consider [Comas] to be seriously injured, and it's very important that we find her as quickly as possible," said Officer Daniel Benavidez of the Avondale Police Department.

Avondale police say they are working with authorities in Gila County to aid in the search.

"We've partnered with the Gila County Search and Rescue teams because we believe that may be a place where Isabella is," Benavidez said. "I can't go into precise locations of where she may be, but we are looking in that area."

Reports from a friend and Rodriguez himself indicate the couple fought the morning Comas went missing. According to court documents, a person matching Rodriguez's description was seen on surveillance video in Globe, driving Comas' car in the early morning hours of Jan. 12. This was the day after Comas was reported missing by a friend who expected her to pick them up for work.

"We put all these circumstances together—the idea that Isabella was last seen in her vehicle, she was last known to be around her boyfriend, and she had a fight with her boyfriend—and that's a circumstance that alerts us as well," Benavidez said.

Flock safety cameras showed the vehicle returning to the Phoenix area from Globe later in the day on Jan. 12. The car was eventually found in Phoenix on Jan. 13 after a resident reported a vehicle matching the description listed on the Turquoise Alert issued for Comas.

When police processed the car, they found bloodstains in multiple locations. The vehicle was missing the entire passenger seat (minus the headrest), the glove compartment, and the lining of the trunk. Inside, investigators also found trash bags, a tarp, gas canisters, and bows and arrows.

"We saw items in the car that could be used to seriously hurt someone and we also observed bloodstains in the vehicle," Benavidez said. "Believing that Isabella was the last one to be in that vehicle, that's what makes us so concerned for her safety."

Missing Arizona woman's boyfriend indicted on taking, damaging her car

A man described as the romantic partner of Isabella Comas, who has been missing for more than two weeks, was indicted on charges of stealing and damaging her car while police continue to search for the 21-year-old woman.

The felony charges, announced Jan. 29, more formally link Phoenix resident Tommy Rodriguez, 39, to Comas. Shortly after the case began with her Jan. 11 disappearance he has been considered a person of interest to police.

Jaret Redfearn, a spokesman for the Avondale Police Department, said investigators continue to search for Comas and what happened to her, though the focus has moved away from Globe, at least for the moment.

In earlier court proceedings, a prosecutor asked for Rodriguez to be held on a $100,000 cash bond, arguing he had an incentive to flee and pointing to what she described as a history of domestic-violence offenses.

The prosecutor argued that Rodriguez went to “great lengths” to destroy evidence linking him to Comas’ vehicle and said she believed he likely knew where Comas was.

Rodriguez told the court he had been cooperating and said he did not try to run. He acknowledged he had been out of state but said he had a scheduled work flight and returned to Arizona to speak with investigators.

Commissioner William Cawthon instead set a $25,000 secured bond on the initial charges and ordered conditions that included electronic monitoring and passport surrender.
