Police still seeking to identify body of woman found on Highland beach
“One line of inquiry is that this woman may have been present in the Inverness area prior to being found and we would urge anyone who may have seen her in the city to get in touch.

“We are also carrying out inquiries with colleagues across the country and beyond in case she has travelled from further afield and are using every means at our disposal to identify her.

“This includes assistance and advice from the UK Missing Persons Unit at the National Crime Agency.

“We would urge anyone with any information at all which could help identify this woman and allow us to make contact with her family or friends to come forward as soon as you can.”

Did you see the woman?
The woman is described as being white, aged between 25 and 35 years of age with an athletic build and long reddish blonde or brown hair.''

Body discovered on Fortrose beach FOUR months ago has been formally identified by cops as missing Romanian woman​

A BODY that was found on a beach near Inverness has been formally identified as a missing Romanian woman.

The discovery of the body happened on January 30 at around 8.30am and was found by members of the public near Rosemarkie Golf Club.

Officers were working to try to identify the deceased ever since the discovery.

Marilena-Maria Maftei, 33, as reported missing in March after she hadn’t been in touch with her loved ones who live abroad.

She was last seen in Glenurquhart Road, Inverness on January 19.

Police Scotland have confirmed that the body has now been formally identified as a woman who was reported missing on March 22

Officers said that her family have been informed.

There are no suspicious circumstances around her death and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
