Endangered Missing Advisory issued for pregnant woman who’s vehicle was torched in Lincoln

The Nebraska State Patrol issued an Endangered Missing Advisory on Thursday for a 26-year-old pregnant woman from Stromsburg after the vehicle she was believed to be driving was found burned in Lincoln.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said Hannah Neville, who is 32 weeks pregnant, was last seen in Stromsburg on Jan. 15 and is likely to have been traveling to Lincoln to meet her boyfriend, 27-year-old Roberto Tanner, also known as Robbie Tanner or Robbie Barker. The sheriff’s office said Tanner is not a suspect, but is considered a person of interest.

Lincoln Police said a vehicle owned by Neville was found engulfed in flames near 39th Street and Cornhusker Highway on Jan. 16. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the fire inspector.

Because of Neville’s advanced pregnancy, missed medical appointments and the torched vehicle, the sheriff’s office said she is considered missing and endangered.

Neville is 5’ 2″ tall, approximately 180 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen with a light blue Nike backpack. Her phone pinged 10 days ago on I-80 near Lincoln, according to the Endangered Missing Advisory.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at 402-747-2231 and request to speak with Sheriff Dwaine Ladwig or Investigator Brittany McCracken.

Judge again denies motion for bond review for Sayde Titus, who is accused in deaths of missing Nebraska couple

A judge again denied a request for a bond review for one of the suspects charged in the killing of a 27-year-old man and his pregnant wife.

Sayde Titus, 22, is charged with multiple counts of accessory to a felony as well as tampering with evidence in the deaths of Hannah Neville and Roberto Tanner.

She allegedly assisted her husband, 24-year-old Sterling James, who is accused of murdering Neville, who was 32 weeks pregnant, and Tanner.

According to court documents, a witness claimed James admitted that Titus helped him clean up after the shooting and then dig up the bodies and re-bury them in a different location.

On Feb. 5, a judge set bond for Titus at 10% of $1,000,000.

Last week, her attorney asked that the bond be reduced to 10% of $250,000, citing that Titus does not have any prior criminal history and is not a flight risk.

Titus's attorney also said that her alleged involvement is "significantly less" than James's and that Titus has two minor children, ages 13 and 4, that she is in charge of.

The state objected, citing the nature and facts of the case, saying that Titus allegedly participated in the destruction of evidence.

Titus and James are scheduled to appear in court next in March.

One of the suspects accused of killing Nebraska couple, their unborn child will go to trial

One of the suspects accused of killing a Nebraska couple and their unborn child will go to trial.

Sterling James is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree murder of an unborn child and tampering with evidence in the deaths of Hannah Neville and Roberto Tanner.

His case advanced to felony court for trial, according to court documents.

Case continued for Lincoln murder suspect in triple-homicide case

The case has been continued for the Lincoln murder suspect accused of killing his half-brother, his wife and their unborn child.

Court records show that 24-year-old Sterling James was scheduled to be arraigned in Lancaster County District Court on Wednesday, but the hearing was continued to April 24.

James is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree murder of an unborn child and tampering with evidence. He is being held without bond, and his murder charges carry the potential for the death penalty.

According to a new filing from March 18, prosecutors intend to bring forward new evidence that supports their reasoning to seek the death penalty for James.

The evidence suggests that the murders of Tanner and Neville were “especially heinous, atrocious, cruel, or manifested exceptional depravity by ordinary standards of morality and intelligence,” according to the court document.

James’ alleged co-conspirators remain in the Lancaster County Jail as they wait to make their next court appearance in April.

James’ wife, 22-year-old Sayde Titus, is charged with two counts of accessory to murder, one count of accessory to murder of an unborn child and tampering with evidence. She is accused of helping James hide the bodies. Her next court date is set for April 30.

The four other people accused being accessories to murder and tampering with evidence in the case will appear on the following dates:
  • Ammie Mitchell - docket call on April 27
  • Kendall Hawthorne - district court arraignment on April 1
  • Matthew Lickliter - docket call on April 22
  • Sheena Miller - docket call on April 15
All six suspects remain in custody as of Wednesday afternoon.
