Thomasville resident Lindsay Shiver is under arrest after Bahamian Police uncovered a plot crafted by her and two men to kill her estranged husband, Robert Shiver.

According to Bahamas Court News, police arrested Shiver, 36, along with her lover Terrance Bethel, 28, of Guana Cay, Abaco and hitman Farron Newbold Jr., 28, of the Bahamas. Bahamian police say they uncovered the plot on July 16, while searching the phone and social media app of a suspected burglar.

A source familiar with the investigation said the Shivers have a home in the Bahamas, where Lindsay first began an affair with Bethel. Upon Robert finding out about the affair, he filed for divorce. That is when Lindsay, Bethel and and Newbold Jr. concocted a plan to murder Robert.

Authorities are currently holding Lindsay, Bethel and Newbold Jr. in jail. They were not required to enter a plea and have to return to court October 5.

Reminds me of the Lori Vallow case. Ex beauty queen wanting to get rid of the husband so she can be with her lover. The Bahamas, rather than Hawaii, is the only difference. Evil bitches the similarities.

Great comparison, never even crossed my mind.

I'd add both are pleasure seeking monied or wanting money bitches.

This one was fighting for her kids rather than killing them but solely I'm sure for the control and money that comes with such.

No shame

So we have the Bahamas B and the Hawaii B.

Boyfriend of Dothan beauty queen charged in murder-for-hire plot speaks on allegations

The ex-boyfriend of a Georgia mom accused of plotting to kill her estranged husband while on vacation spoke out for the first time in an exclusive television interview.

Terrance Adrian Bethel spoke Good Morning America’s Eva Pilgrim in an interview that was aired Thursday.

Bethel was charged in the murder-for-hire plot alongside Lindsay Shiver after police in the Bahamas claimed they found suspicious messages on WhatsApp between the two. They allegedly included photos of Shiver’s husband, Robert Shiver, along with the message “Kill him.”

Shiver was set to stand trial this month in the Bahamian capital of Nassau on a murder-for-hire charge. However, her trial date has been pushed to March 2025. It is currently unknown why Shiver’s trial has been moved a total of three times.

Also charged in the alleged murder-for-hire plot is Bethel’s friend, Faron Newbold Jr. The trio could face 30 and 60 years behind bars if convicted.

Beauty queen Lindsay Shiver faces return to squalid jail in Bahamas after appearing on US TV ahead of her trial for murder-for-hire plot against husband

A Bahamian judge is threatening to throw ‘murder for hire’ housewife Lindsay Shiver back in prison for appearing on US TV ahead of her trial, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

Judge Cheryl Grant-Thompson hit the roof after an ABC crew accompanied a glammed-up Shiver, 37, as she travelled back to Nassau for a pre-trial hearing.

The posed-up footage ran on Good Morning America alongside an interview with her co-accused bartender beau Adrien Bethel, in which he scoffed at claims they had plotted with alleged hitman Faron Newbold Jr to slay Shiver’s estranged husband Robert, 39.

The lovebirds were hit with a gag order at a hastily arranged zoom conference where they insisted they had only agreed for the material to be aired after their trial concluded sometime next year.

But Judge Grant-Thompson wants to see copies of the contracts they signed with ABC and has vowed to lock them up for contempt of court if the paperwork doesn’t exonerate them.

I hate these kinds of cases. the beauty queen (lol) and the ex NFL player and their rich familiies her, bartender bf, the private jet and a bunch of kids stuck with both of these messed up families and people.

News does the whole beauty queen thing (gag) and sensationalism and she is so unworried about her kids or freedom she appears on TV. ABC better not back them up and fi they do then ABC broke the contract then by airing it before hand didn't they and they could be used...

Neither of these two are parent material imo, nor are their own parents, especially his mother. And the kids at the mercy of all. It's all games, jealousy, failure to adult, enabling, money and b.s. Of course their kids I'm sure aren't turning out much different, I have sympathy for the kids but look what they are raised with and raised seeing so little while there...

I've watched the case from the start but don't avidly follow it and it will never take me over or flat my boat. It is the epitome of killing because one doesn't have a real emotional bone in their body and for profit, revenge, control. Cheating and games for similar reasons. Never had to adult a day in their lives.

All is played more sympathetic to him but she is charged but he's no prize nor is his mother. They were pulling things too and trying to push things over. Not a one puts the children first. NONE of them. Both sets of parents are enabling (meaning grandparents) and probably were no better themselves.

All jmo and speculation but based on the sh*t that's been said in this one.

It's like following Hollywood crap, this isn't real world. There are real children affected of course but it's not the same at all as real life.

And the hub's gf as well, getting involved where she should not be and buying his sh*t too.

And all SM bullsh*t.

Children raising children.

They are all disgusting. And as far as the beauty queen last I knew she is a pretty fat one now and she may have a bartender or whatever bf (but you know why he's in it) but her hub has a thinner model of a wife...

Intentionally critical and judgemental. Yes, tha's what I'm doing. They disgust me. I keep up with it but don't seek it. They have everything by many standards but that's not enough is it... Because they don't have what really matters in life. Not inside, nor in others around them.

Not my cup of tea. I hope they all rot but that won't happen. That can be figured already.

And she's a beauty queen just as Lori Daybell was a pageant runner up. Oh wow. Or someone was a cheerleader. Gotta love news headlines. For those either even bother to cover.

Just a rant at the people in this one. I just find it all pretty disgusting. But if someone is going to win, his family owns the area and has the most money and power...

Oh well, I guess that's just how it is...

In the meantime, their kids are....?

Accused 'murder for hire' housewife Lindsay Shiver thrown back in Bahamian jail after GMA appearance

Accused 'murder for hire' housewife Lindsay Shiver was thrown back in prison on her birthday after a Bahamian judge blasted her recent appearance on an American daytime show as a 'spit in the face' of justice, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

Judge Cheryl Grant-Thompson said footage of Shiver – who turned 38 on Monday – 'parading in a blue sundress' on Good Morning America was a clear breach of the island nation's strict restrictions on pre-trial publicity.

Former beauty queen accused of plotting ex-Auburn player’s murder-for-hire back in jail after TV appearance

A former Alabama beauty queen and her boyfriend accused of plotting to kill her ex-husband are back in jail in the Bahamas following national television interviews earlier this month.

A Bahamian judge revoked bond for Lindsay Shiver and Terence Bethel after they appeared on Good Morning America and Inside Edition and discussed the pending case, according to the Nassau Guardian.

Gee, that's awful. On her birthday no less. Both from monied families but his probably with more than hers. I feel sorry for the kids but in the same breath look at who they are being raised by by both sides.. Same with the grandparents. She probably does fight the more influence and money fight but then his mom was overinvolved but she was cut from his famiiy's private jet... Who have some pull in the Bhamas...

The sensationalism. Former beauty queen. Football well not star but did play... Lori Daybelll was a former almost beauty queen too.

While I feel so sorry for the little kids in these case, like they aren't going to turn out worse anyhow than these two did...

I've been abreast of this case but it's the type that just isn't my cup of tea... Money power, never had to adult in their life..

I'll just leave it there. She should be in jail if she plotted to kill. Personally I think they both should give up Parenthood and be in jail.

The beauty queen and the football star. Okay...................

'Murder for hire' beauty queen Lindsay Shiver and bartender beau suffer new blow as they await trial

The accused 'murder for hire' house wife Lindsay Shiver and Terrance 'Adrien' Bethel were dealt a new blow as they left court with the decision to revoke bail upheld.

Both Shiver, 38, and Bethel were declared a significant flight risk who had shown 'blatant disregard for the rules set by the Supreme Court.'

The pair will remain in custody and await their trial scheduled in March 2025.

Wow. I hate these kinds of cases. Not a person in this one ever adulted clearly. I am more impressed with Bahamian laws and ways than our own I think. However, who knows, his family has great influence there according to all the sensationalistic articles and crapola.

I feel sorry for their children but even his mom was overinvolved in all of this sh*t and it is what they've all made it. ALL.

Both sides. Think they are above the law and special. Money. Influence. So sickening. Never adulted. Not so atypical nowadays.

Their bond should have been revoked if not following the rules, again think they are special, and the case disgusts me.

No one even died here but still, they are serious charges. And legal charges. And need to be abided by. Someone else would have never even have been released.

To be clear, I don't like the hub's side any better.

And I think they carry a lot of influence "down there".

But all are just spoiled rotten fun life living children.

Life isn't all a bed of roses, and it's hard at times, for some for all of it.

I've been from the start of this one that way, they have children--grow the F up. But even gma is something else.

And his gf OMG.

I mean none looking for attention either, right...

I'll stop as I don't even have the words anyhow. Jail is real. Probably the most real thing ever endured by these people.

Dothan beauty queen charged in murder-for-hire plot to be released from jail

A Dothan beauty queen and once Houston County resident accused of plotting to kill her estranged husband while vacationing in the Bahamas will be released from a Bahamian prison for the second time before her trial.

Lindsay Shiver will be released on bail from Fox Hill Prison in Nassau on Thursday, February 13, according to her lawyer, Ian Cargill.

Shiver’s trial has also be pushed from March 2025 to August 29, 2025.

It is currently unknown why Shiver was granted a second chance at bail. Bethel was also granted bail.

According to her lawyer, Shiver will be released under her original bail conditions, meaning she will be allowed to return to the United States.

Dothan beauty queen charged in overseas murder-for-hire plot won’t go to trial until 2026

A Wiregrass native and former Dothan beauty queen accused of plotting to kill her husband while on vacation in the Bahamas will not go to trial until next year.

Lindsay Shiver will go to trial in the Bahamian capital of Nassau on March 2, 2026. She will stand trial beside her alleged co-conspirators, Terrence Bethel and Faron Newbold Jr.

Shiver was set to go before a judge and jury on August 29, 2025, but the trial was postponed. This is the fourth time Shiver’s trial has been delayed. It is currently unknown why the trial has been pushed again.

Shiver is currently out on bond and is staying with her family in the Wiregrass. She is allowed to travel to Georgia to visit her children.

delay delay, delay - story came to light summer of 2023.
Yeah, another delay, no reason given and she is free to run about and not even jailed. This doesn't seem to be taken very seriously at all and I guess we aren't the only country who delays at the drop of a hat.

I think it will continue to be pushed off and in the end punishment if any won't be much. Athough the ex and his family do wield power there, but then how come she is out?

Bahamas v. Lindsay Shiver

Lindsay Shiver is accused of plotting with her boyfriend, Terrence Bethel, and another man, Faron Newbold, to kill her then-husband, former Auburn football player Robert Shiver. Lindsay faces charges in the Bahamas, where she and her husband had a second home and where she allegedly began her affair with Bethel. Lindsay is expected to stand trial in March.

Judge denies motion to seal entire Shiver divorce matter

Thomas County Superior Court Judge Gregory Voyles denied Robert Shiver’s motion to seal his entire divorce matter on April 29, 2026, allowing Lindsay Shiver the opportunity to use the documents in her looming criminal trial, if necessary.

On April 5, 2023, Robert filed a complaint for divorce. Two years later, he and Lindsay agreed to a parenting plan that was approved and signed by then-judge Brian McDaniel on September 8, 2025. On October 31, 2025, Robert filed a motion to seal the entire divorce matter. However, Lindsay quickly filed a response and objection on November 13, 2025.

The two then appeared in court over the matter on April 16, 2026, three years after the divorce had been filed for.

During the hearing, Robert’s attorney, James J. McGinnis, argued that his client’s only interest in sealing the entire divorce matter was to protect his children, as their mother’s trial had already brought them unwanted attention.

McGinnis claimed that Lindsay, despite being under a gag order, appeared on Good Morning America, thriving off the attention she received.

McGinnis said the attention will be reignited in June or July, when Lindsay is set to appear for her criminal trial, and it will only cause more issues for her children, especially if individuals have access to the divorce records and can see where the children are located, based on the parenting plan.

“The children are innocent,” McGinnis said.

Lindsay’s attorney, Alvah O. Smith, agreed that the children are innocent in all of this, which is why his client is fighting so vigorously to keep the records open to ensure she can spend time with her children.

Smith pointed out that sealing the divorce record prevents his client from using a basic public record, such as a parenting plan, to be able to do activities with her children.

On more than one occasion, Lindsay has had to file a motion to pick up her children from school.

“She should not have to have her record sealed in the event she needs to use it to prove once again the parenting plan,” Smith said.

In response to McGinnis’ claims that Lindsay’s interest was not that of the children, but was focused more on attention and fame, Smith pulled out a binder of People, TMZ, New York Post, and other tabloid clippings for submission into evidence.

“Mr. Shiver has continued to garner national and international attention by his own actions,” Smith said. “He had a relationship with Savannah Chrisley, a celebrity, who was followed by the paparazzi, hired a PR Specialist, and appeared on her show.”

Smith argued that it was disingenuous to say that Lindsay was the only one who cared about media attention when she did not have a PR Specialist and did not seek out a reality TV show to appear on.

Additionally, Smith explained that sealing the entire divorce matter would prevent Lindsay from “vigorously defending and exonerating herself in the Bahamas,” as her lawyers there would not have access due to the records being sealed.

“We request that the motion to seal the entire divorce matter not be granted so she may use it for her trial,” Smith concluded.

Voyles told the two he would take it under advisement before he denied the motion and issued a decree of divorce. In his order, Voyles did note that he was sympathetic to the fact that the minor children had “probably heard and been exposed to information and details in the media from which they should have been protected.” However, Voyles said that from the arguments presented, the attention appears to be due to the actions of their parents, who have garnered or promoted media attention, and sealing the records will not remedy that issue.
