How strange. And sounds very ominous. I don't know why he would possibly stage this. His family says it's out of character. And usually others notice a change in a person if something is going on. Not always. The details seem to indicate something more complicated was going on.

I saw that. Seems really strange. I'm not sure if it is accurate. If it is, Why would he go there?. Leaving his vehicle injured and a smashed phone. I could think it was because there was many people there and could get help, But that doesn't seem to be the case. It does provide a tighter timeline of when he left until the reported sighting. 4-6:30. But if he was seen, He was said to be injured. Wouldn't people notice that?. IDK. Reaching here, But could it be someone else's blood?. And he did stage it with smashing his phone?. I know that seems out there. Just trying to think what could have happened in this very strange case.

Teen believed missing under ‘suspicious circumstances’ found safe after extensive search

At 10 p.m. Thursday, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office announced that 16-year-old Gabriel Davies was found safe and was returned to his family.

Davies was found in the 13600 block of Tilley Road South, which is where his truck was found the day he was reported missing.

Law enforcement said late Thursday night that no additional comments regarding the incident would be made and asked that the family’s privacy be honored.

It would appear he staged this or at least that's what all seems to indicate. I hope whatever caused it whether serous issues or trying to get out of trouble over something gets addressed and fixed. LE needs to have a sit down with him if he did stage it as resources get expended and parents and loved ones fear for the safety of the one missing.

I doubt we will hear more on this one.

I am overjoyed he is alive and well. We see too much of the other ending.

Well actually we did… and definitely not in the way anyone would have imagined:

so was he thinking that smashing the phone would keep them from finding out what was on it or where he had been?

It’s said that his mom used to live at that house with the victim which is raising even more questions…

I'm not seeing the info where his mom used to live there. That sure does raise more questions if so.

I wonder if his truck was filled with stuff they stole from that house and how they connected him to it so fast.

They said I though that there was evidence at the murder scene which connected the boys. Not real bright it sounds if he thought destroying the phone would do any good on top of already having left evidence.

My first thought was one of their fathers or a stepfather. Sounds like it is or maybe an ex-boyfriend of mom's...

I said he might have staged his disappearance if he was in trouble or something but I wasn't thinking murder. Wow.
I sure didn’t expect this … but somehow this case bothered me differently….

BF or exBF from his mom… I just wonder what brought them to do something so horrible…

WTF?! This was unexpected. By me at least. Teenagers doing this s**t. Lock them up for life. They will just continue. Parole them, You'll see. How many times have we heard someone paroled or early paroled especially that went on to keep raping, Abusing, And killing?. Too many to count. When you on the parole board parole someone that shouldn't be. Just issue everyone in the U.S. a weapon.

I hope it wasn't due to abuse. Or that the mother had him do it for bad feelings or problems with the bf. Maybe simple robbery?

When someone though in the "parental" role, seems like it would be something personal more likely...

Mom of high school football player dated victim her son is accused of murdering: report

Washington state high school football player who was reported missing last week before being arrested on suspicion of murder reportedly killed his mom’s ex-boyfriend.

Gabriel Michael Davies, 16, and another teen have been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, burglary and the unlawful possession of a firearm in the death of a 51-year-old man found fatally shot at home, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office announced Saturday.

Officials have still not publicly identified the victim, but the Tacoma News Tribune reported Sunday that he and Davies’ mother “were a couple” and that the three had lived together for several years at the house where he was found dead.

New details emerge as charging documents for Olympia teen murder suspect are released

After two 16-year-old males were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at his Orting home last week, Pierce County has released charging documents associated with the case.

One of the two suspects was later confirmed to be Gabriel Davies, a teenager who went missing under “suspicious circumstances” and was found safe after an extensive search throughout Thurston County, according to PSCD Sergeant Darren Moss.

The second suspect was later identified as 16-year-old Justin Jiwoon Yoon.

At about 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 1, deputies responded to a home in the 21900 block of 190th Street East to conduct a welfare check after a 51-year-old man had reportedly not shown up for work for four days.

According to the charging documents, deputies smelled what they thought was a decaying body. They also saw a German Shepard running inside the house and out into the backyard through a doggy door.

After gaining access to the home, deputies found the man deceased on the floor with a gunshot wound in his head and a significant amount of blood surrounding the body.

After detectives and forensic investigators were called to the scene, a single spent shell casing was found near the man’s body, but no gun had been found.

There were no signs of forced entry into the house and further examination of the victim revealed he had also been stabbed.

Investigators soon learned the victim had previously been in a relationship with Davies’ mother.

A Thurston County detective was later contacted by Yoon’s father, who said he had information about a Pierce County homicide involving Davies.

According to the Thurston County investigation, a member of Davies’ family said Davies and Yoon had gone camping at Panther Lake with friends and family between Aug. 27 and Aug. 28.

Family said Yoon and Davies left the cabin in Mason County on Aug. 28, just after midnight and returned around 6:30 a.m. They left the Panther Lake location again at 11:45 a.m. and didn’t return.

Pierce County detectives examined surveillance footage at the victim’s home and saw two “young skinny males” approach the home from the backyard at about 1:59 a.m. on Aug. 28.

The two people on the footage crawled into the home through the doggy door. At about 2:41 a.m. the victim was spotted leaving the detached garage, then “stumbling” back into the home.

At 2:47 a.m. the German Shepherd suddenly ran out of the doggy door, and one minute later the two people exited the home through a side door.

The two people ran back and forth to the garage before leaving the area around 2:52 a.m.

Detectives believe the two people were Davies and Yoon.

On Sept. 2, Davies’ father called the lead detective with Thurston County, saying, “Gabe was involved in (the victim’s) death.”

According to Davies’ father, Davies was approached by “biker buddies” of the victim, threatening him to steal something from the victim’s home.

Davies confided in Yoon and they developed a “plot” to steal the item from the victim’s safe.

The two went to the victim’s house and snuck through the doggy door.

Davies’ father said when the victim came home, Yoon “ran after him and stabbed him,” and then “Gabe heard a gunshot.”

Davies’ father said Davies went out to the garage to get the item out of the safe when he heard a second shot.

Davies’ father said Davies was followed by the victim’s “biker buddies” and pulled him from his truck on Tilley Road.

The blood found in the truck was from the biker’s smashing Davies’ face against the inside of the truck.

The “biker buddies” then drove Davies around in a Suburban, roughing him up before they let him go. They also took his shirt and shoes.

Just after 8 p.m. on Sept. 3, deputies took Davies and Yoon into custody for charges of second-degree murder, first degree burglary and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Davies later showed detectives where he and Yoon hid two guns that were stolen from the victim’s home.

Both suspects were booked into Remann Hall Juvenile Detention Center.
