Toddler Girl Still Missing After Dad Is Found Alive in Pickup Truck Submerged in River: Police

Indiana authorities are searching for a missing 2-year-old girl who remains unaccounted for after her father was reportedly found on Friday in a truck submerged in a river.

Father and daughter Jeremy and Emma Sweet were last seen on Wednesday. Two days later, duck hunters found Jeremy Sweet in a pickup truck submerged in the White River, near the end of a farm lane in Bartholomew County, according to the Indianapolis Star.

The father, who was hospitalized for hypothermia, reportedly told detectives that his daughter was with him. However, investigators do not know if she was in the truck with her father when duck hunters discovered the vehicle.

At the time of his disappearance, Jeremy Sweet was out on bond for unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and possession of methamphetamine, WISH reported, citing police.

Jeremy and Emma Sweet were reported missing on Thursday. According to WISH, divers on Friday suspended their search for the missing toddler.

April 11th, then July 18th, now October 31st. This isn't the first new trial date/delay.

Isn't it funny only in this sector and maybe a few others, people can not do their jobs, yet keep them...? That courts don't have to come up with a way to be more effiicient, and that it can be something behind the scenes or a lie and it gets granted. Maybe the judge is okay with it as he wants a vacation, an attorney isn't prepared or took on more than he could handle so they claim a conflict in scheduling, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc. Our justice system SUCKS and the courts were backed up enough before these recent years and the new b.s. that works.

Man accused of drowning his 2-year-old daughter to plead guilty
The man accused of drowning his daughter was to appear in court today, Monday, May 1, to plead guilty. That hearing was canceled and rescheduled for June 11 at 3:00 p.m. in Bartholomew County Superior Court 1.

The terms of the plea deal have not been released.

So he was actually to plead guilty now but yet another delay until June. Why since all set with a plea agreement for some reason details are not being given on yet?

I don't know whether to be happy or mad. Is he taking responsibility like a rare perp or was the deal better than what he would have gotten?

Why the heck should there be a delay in something AGREED TO? Can these courts not FUNCTION or do anything on schedule? In next post going to bump a former one of mine.

Bumping and this should be said in TONS of cases. It is BEYOND ridiculous. At least to me or a few of us. Try living it.

Columbus man receives 40-year sentence for role in his 2-year-old daughter’s death

A Columbus man received a 40-year prison sentence for the role he played in his daughter’s death on Tuesday.

FOX59 and CBS4 have confirmed that 41-year-old Jeremy Sweet pleaded guilty in a case where he faced three charges, including neglect of a dependent resulting in death, which is a Level 1 Felony. The maximum penalty for a Level 1 Felony in Indiana is a 40-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000.

“This is a complete tragic, senseless loss of life,” Bartholomew County Prosecutor Lindsey Holden-Kay said on Tuesday. “It should’ve never happened. They were decisions made that day that this was so preventable.”

‘Nothing I can say’: Father gets 40 years behind bars after driving his truck into a shallow river and allowing his 2-year-old daughter to drown on Thanksgiving Day

An Indiana man will spend the next four decades behind bars for the role he played in the drowning death of his 2-year-old daughter.

Jeremy Sweet, 41, pleaded guilty to one count each of neglect of a dependent resulting in death and a habitual offender enhancement for drug crimes on Tuesday in Bartholomew County. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the first offense and 10 years in prison for the second. The court assessed the sentences to run consecutively.

Emma Sweet, the victim, likely died sometime on Thanksgiving Day in 2021 — after her father accidentally drove his truck into a river.

Sweet took culpability for his actions, apologized to his ex-wife for losing their daughter, and broke down emotionally during his sentencing hearing, according to a courtroom report by The Republic.

“There’s nothing I can say to change what has happened,” he said, sobbing. “But I swear to God on everything I love that I’m so sorry.”

I did not even recall this case until coming in and that alone is SAD. It is due to delays and lack of news and interest. I can in and landed on this and it isn't that I think my post is great, it is just bumping it to say the last known date that I knew of and commented on was OCTOBER. This is JUNE. And the part about in no other business or sector in life could you delay and get away with such and keep your job. The system SUCKS and is BEYOND inefficient. This thread sadly is only a few short pages so I glanced at most of it and the other thing is sadly yes it is a few short pages without much interest and that's sad as HE77.

We can't follow all and I certainly am not changing laws nor lobbying to do so although I would if I COULD, but it is a large part of why I follow crime, simply yelling about it, maybe might hit the ears of someone who CAN. if they give a sh*t that is.

At least he said he was sorry.

Got a couple of days off, my weekend, Thur, Fri, and a lot of other things to do but caught up with some cases etc. and saw new ones and as someone else said been nothing but depressing. Maybe the wrong planet is in our orbit because people are also sniping at each other. NO I am not sold on the planet thing so don't think I've lost it.

I just have had a fill without spending a lot of time on any of it with the worst of humanity with what I did get to look at. Madeline Soto my GOD, 900 pages out and I haven't nor have most channels covered even the START of it.

Then new cases of children and more.

And then I come in here and feel AWFUL that she has almost no pages and I could not recall the case.

I think all of us even if sometimes disagreeing know we all want justice. I would hope anyhow... Even if we might disagree on what that is or our view in a case.

RIP Emma and I am so sorry I could not place you at first. Too many, so unfair.
