WA DEANNE HASTINGS: Missing from Spokane, WA - 3 November 2015 - Age 35

hastings.jpg

Caucasian female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Some agencies refer to Hastings as Deanne Crider. Her ears are pierced, and she may dye her hair; the natural color is brown but she has also colored it blonde and black. Hastings has the following tattoos: Thor's hammer and Viking runes on her neck, a tribal design on her upper back, a large design of a flower and the names "Brock", "Brooklyn" and "Hayden" on her abdomen, and a sun, moon and stars on her lower back. Photos of some of the tattoos are posted with this case summary.

Hastings was last seen at the Latah Trading Company Store off Highway 195 in Spokane, Washington on November 3, 2015. She left a note saying was going for a short errand, but never returned home and has never been heard from again. A few days after her disappearance, her boyfriend found her car in downtown Spokane, across the street from the Knitting Factory; her purse and phone were inside it.

Hastings left all her belongings behind, including her makeup, identification and money. She had just started school at Glen Dow Beauty Academy and attended the first day of classes the day before she was last seen, but never showed up for the second day. Her family stated she was happy at the time of her disappearance and about to get married.

After Hastings was last seen, Randy Riley was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and identity theft; he had used her stolen credit cards. He said he was not involved in Hastings's disappearance.

He said he encountered her while she was walking on South Inland Empire Way. He stated she was very drunk and belligerent, and they spent a few hours together before he left her standing on the roadside. About a day later, he found her coat on the roadside with her wallet inside it, and used her cards. Riley pleaded guilty to the charges, spent a few months in jail and was released. He has not been named as a suspect in her case.

Hastings left behind three children. She has dropped out of sight before for days at a time, but never for this long. Her case remains unsolved.

Family of missing Spokane woman continue to urge community to send in tips

It’s been more than eight years since a local mother vanished from West Spokane, seemingly without a trace. No one has seen or heard from Deanne Hastings since November 3, 2015.

Hastings disappeared after telling her fiancé she was running some quick errands. In 2016, Mike Tibbets told KHQ he considered the mystery ‘a person’s worst nightmare.’

Feb. 27 holds a special place for the loved ones of Deanne as it marks her birthday. Her older brother, Carson Crider, says since she vanished, the day is now filled with heartache.

“It’s rough; her birthday is always a rough day now,” Carson said. “It’s especially rough on (our) mom.”

Carson says his sister was legally declared deceased last year.

“I believe somebody killed her,” he said. “Someone knows something … but nobody will talk.”

Deanne was a loving mother who also attending beauty school. She had dealt with struggles before, but loved ones say she was doing well back in Nov. of 2015.

Her family dismisses the theory of her disappearance being voluntary as "ridiculous."

“Absolutely not,” Carson said. “This is definitely not a voluntary disappearance. It’s just…unfortunate. If it can happen to her, and we don’t have closure, it could happen to someone else. Whoever did this is still walking around.”

Spokane Police say the case remains active and encourage anyone with information to come forward. Carson also pleads for witnesses to do the right thing. It’s been several years filled with pain and uncertainty for their family.

“I would say, at this point, we just want to give Deanne a funeral,” he said. “Please…just come forward, even anonymously. We want to lay her to rest. We want some closure.”

Deanne Hastings was approximately 5’4 and 120 pounds when she was last seen. If you have any information about the suspicious disappearance of Deanne Hastings, please call 509.456.2233.

A man who admitted to running into Deanne that night was later charged with using her credit cards. He told KHQ in 2016 that was the extent of his criminal activity and stated he had nothing to do with her.https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sha...l&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=user-share
