Danielle Stislicki's vehicle was left at her home in the area of Halsted and Grand River in Farmington Hills, even though she was last seen in Southfield.

“All available information and evidence leads investigators to believe Danielle Stislicki was the victim of a crime,” police said in a media release out Monday.

Stislicki, who goes by “Dani,” left her job at MetLife on Telegraph Rd., north of 10 Mile, in Southfield at around 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, and was supposed to stop home and then meet a friend for dinner.

However, police say she never showed up for that dinner meeting, didn’t make it to work as scheduled the next day, and hasn’t been heard from since.

On Sept. 9 and 10, Berkley man Floyd Galloway, who is charged in the 2016 disappearance and murder of Farmington Hills resident Danielle Stislicki, appeared before Farmington Hills 47th District Court Judge James Brady for a preliminary hearing.

Brady determined there was “overwhelming evidence” to bind the case over to Oakland County Circuit Court.

During the pretrial hearing in front of Brady, numerous witnesses testified on behalf of the prosecution team to prove that there was enough evidence for the case to be bound over.

Investigators painted a picture of Galloway’s activities the night Stislicki went missing to look like this: He allegedly got a ride from Stislicki from MetLife to his house in Berkley, where they believe Stislicki’s murder took place, and then he took her car back to her apartment. He allegedly walked from her apartment to a Tim Hortons in Farmington Hills, called a cab and got dropped off across the street from MetLife, where he picked up his car, according to testimony.

Proceedings For Danielle Stislicki’s Alleged-Murderer Pushed to 2021 Due To COVID-19 Concerns

Danielle Stislicki went missing in December of 2016. After an exhaustive search, her body still hasn’t been found. However, according to the Detroit News, police said they found enough evidence to charge Floyd Galloway Jr. with her homicide. When he was arraigned in the 47th District Court at a September 2019 preliminary hearing.

Stislicki who worked at the Metlife building in Southfield was seen by a co-worker, who testified back then that he saw her and Galloway in the passenger seat of her car leaving the parking lot. Galloway was a security guard and a convicted sex offender. Police think that he somehow got her to his Berkley home. Danielle’s mother testified back then that she was acquainted with Galloway, but was not interested in him romantically.

After the preliminary trial, District Court Judge James Brady ruled there was enough evidence to proceed to trial. This ruling came after Oakland County Medical Examiner Dr. Ljubisa J. Dragovic testified that he came to the conclusion Stislicki died of asphyxiation, even though her body was never found. Basing his opinion on police reports and “common sense” according to MLive.

On Monday, Hometown Life reported that Circuit Court Judge Phyllis McMillen told attorneys in the Stislicki case that she cannot manage the case until she hears back from the Michigan Court of Appeals. As it is reviewing the prosecution and defense of Galloway. Over a Zoom session McMillen said, “Technically, I have no authority at this point to do anything with the case. Is that correct?” The attorneys agreed and Mcmillen replied, “We should not be rescheduling anything until after the first of the year.”

So for now they have scheduled a January 14, 2021 hearing, which according to Hometown Life will be followed by more motions and proceedings. Circuit Court judge McMillen said that they are delayed in how they can proceed because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, “…because we can only do one jury selection per day for the whole courthouse,”. Mcmillen then said, “It’s the only way we can do social distancing with the jury office set up the way we have it. We can only do one trial per floor for the duration of the trial.”.

According to Mcmillen, there are three courtrooms to a floor, and for a trial to happen one room has to be used for the jury, one for public viewing, and one for the trial itself. Tied with a backlog of cases involving juveniles, custody, abuse, and neglect getting higher priority, the court’s docket is tied up.

Investigators share key pieces of evidence they found on day Danielle Stislicki disappeared

It’s been nearly four years since Danielle Stislicki disappeared, and Local 4 spoke one-on-one with investigators of the case about some key pieces of evidence they found that day.

Danielle Stislicki’s grandmother, friend open up about her mysterious disappearance 4 years later

At one point during the investigation, Stislicki’s family hoped she would be found alive. Now, they’re simply hoping for some closure.

“We want her found because we want to have a place for her,” Carol Stislicki, Danielle’s grandmother, said. “We don’t want her to be out there, like somebody’s garbage or something. She deserves a resting place.

“She was adventurous. She just had this spirit. Loved life. Always wanted to do the right thing by people. She was probably kind to a fault.”

I'm so sad that she hasn't been found yet...

FOUR YEARS LATER, NO CLOSURE FOR DANIELLE STISLICKI’S FAMILY

Four years after her disappearance, the family of Farmington Hills resident Danielle Stislicki still does not have closure.

Stislicki, who was 28 when she vanished on December 2, 2016, is presumed dead. Former security guard Floyd Galloway has been charged with her murder. A trial that was set to begin in October has been delayed until January due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Stislicki family continues to share information about the case on a Facebook page and website, finddani.org.https://farmingtonvoice.com/one-yea...lle-stislicki-continues/danielle-stislicki-3/

Twenty-eight-year-old Danielle Stislicki was last seen on December 2, 2016 leaving her work at MetLife in Southfield, Michigan. She was supposed to meet a friend for dinner that evening, but never arrived. Text messages and calls to her went unanswered. The next day, a close friend who went to check on her found Danielle’s black 2015 Jeep Renegade parked in its usual spot right outside the entrance to her apartment complex. Floyd Galloway Jr. is charged with first degree murder in her case. Galloway is a former security guard at the MetLife building where Danielle worked at the time of her disappearance. Authorities searched Galloway’s residence three weeks after Danielle vanished. Floorboards, several pieces of carpet, a mattress and Galloway’s car were removed from his home and sent for testing, according to police. The judge ruled there was enough evidence to proceed to trial after Oakland County Medical Examiner Dr. Ljubisa J. Dragovic testified that he came to the conclusion Danielle died of asphyxiation, even though her body has not been found. The trial was initially scheduled for early 2020, but pushed back multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In October 2020, Circuit Court Judge Phyllis McMillen met with attorneys over Zoom and determined there will be a January 14, 2021 hearing. Galloway is currently in prison for choking and attempting to rape a jogger in Hines Park. Anyone with information regarding the case, or who may have seen Danielle or her Jeep on December 2, 2016, is urged to call the Farmington Hills Police Department at (248) 871-2610.

Man accused of killing Danielle Stislicki works to prove his innocence

Accused killer Floyd Galloway Jr. apparently deserves compliments for helping his attorney prepare the best defense against state prosecutors.

Prosecutors have alleged Galloway killed Danielle Stislicki, 28, of Farmington Hills on Dec. 2, 2016, and managed to dispose of her body so that it remains unfound.

Defense attorney Ellen Michaels said she and her client view their situation as a missing person's case where Galloway has been wrongly accused.

“He and I work together,” Michaels said. “He’s intelligent and articulate and respectful. He’s very engaged in being part of the process of proving that he didn’t do what he’s accused of. He’s passionate and engaged in proving his innocence, honestly.”

The attorney is scheduled for oral arguments on Wednesday over Zoom with a three-judge Michigan Court of Appeals panel regarding, according to Michaels, evidence she does not want presented at trial.

While the case has been under seal, court administrators said at this point, the plan is to upload the oral arguments to YouTube.

Appeals court asked to allow jury to hear about prior conviction for alleged killer of Danielle Stislicki

Should a conviction of kidnapping, assault and attempted rape by the man charged with murdering Danielle Stislicki be allowed as evidence when that case goes to trial?

An Oakland County Circuit Court judge’s ruling that the other case against Floyd Galloway, Jr. should not be admitted as evidence is now being considered by the Michigan Court of Appeals, which heard oral arguments for and against Wednesday morning. Assistant Attorney General Scott Shimkus is seeking a reversal, while Galloway’s defense attorney Ellen Michaels believes the decision by the lower court’s Judge Phyllis McMillen should stand.

Hines Park assault cannot be used in Stislicki murder trial

Any jury charged with deciding whether Floyd Galloway schemed and successfully murdered a missing Danielle Stislicki can ignore his 2016 sexual assault on a Hines Park runner – for now.

The assault happened a few months before Stislicki’s December 2016 disappearance, and the Michigan Court of Appeals said in an opinion released Thursday that the cases are too dissimilar to risk "unfair prejudice" against the defendant.

ALWAYS in the favor of the alleged perpetrator!!!

Michigan Supreme Court could review Danielle Stislicki's murder case

State Attorney General Dana Nessel’s legal team has not banished its hopes of using Floyd Galloway’s sexual assault on an apparent stranger as evidence against him in the murder case of Danielle Stislicki,.

Nessel's team failed to get the decision they wanted from Oakland County Judge Phyllis McMillen and then the Michigan Court of Appeals.

The case is sealed, but online records at least show that the state’s appeal now has a supreme court case number.

Don't count on repentance to tell where her body is. I hope it happens, But It's the killer's last bit if control.

Michigan Supreme Court will not hear prosecutor's appeal on evidence in Stislicki murder

The state’s highest court will not let Floyd Galloway’s prosecutors re-assert that sexual assault evidence can be used to prove he murdered a missing Farmington Hills woman.

The Michigan Supreme Court issued an April 27 order that denied the request to appeal “because we are not persuaded that the question presented should be reviewed by this court.”

Oakland Circuit Judge Phyllis McMillen and the Michigan Court of Appeals already have ruled that the assault evidence should not be used to prove the premeditated murder of Danielle Stislicki, 28, because the two cases involved facts too dissimilar.
