
Amber Alert for abducted girl tied to Los Angeles homicide case
Authorities confirmed Tuesday morning that the Amber Alert for a 4-year-old girl abducted in Los Angeles over the weekend is also connected to a homicide investigation.Investigators say 40-year-old Ruben Fregoso abducted the child, Daleza Fregoso, at about 4 a.m. Sunday. Although the suspect and the girl share the same last name, authorities have not confirmed their relationship.
The two were last seen near the intersection of Alsace Avenue and Ferndale Street in Los Angeles’ West Adams neighborhood, according to an Amber Alert issued by the California Highway Patrol on Monday.
Citizen video obtained by KTLA showed officers at the location Monday night. An ambulance and a stretcher were seen outside a home in the area.
A Los Angeles Police Department detective confirmed to KTLA on Tuesday that a homicide investigation is connected to the girl’s disappearance but could not provide further details.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Monday, the CHP announced in an update that the SUV connected to the case had been found. However, the suspect and abducted child remained missing
Investigators said Monday that the two were believed to be in Los Angeles, Riverside or San Diego counties.
