Missing Texas woman seen leaving San Antonio house in a rush

Video from a doorbell camera shows missing San Antonio woman Christina Powell leaving her home in a rush on the morning of July 5, and she hasn't been seen since. Powell's mother, Claudia Mobley, told Fox News that her daughter said she was running late for work, but she still though it was strange that Powell left in such a hurry.

The video shows Powell quickly walking out her front door wearing black pants and a black long sleeve t-shirt toward the driveway. She left behind her phone and her Apple Watch, her family said.

Powell reportedly called the office where she works as a paralegal telling them she would be late, but she never showed to work. A co-worker showed up at her Apple Creek home hours later. Powell's 12-year-old son answered the door and told the co-worker that his mom was at work.

Guessing they're waiting on toxicology.

Texas mom Christina Lee Powell's autopsy conducted Monday, is 'pending' further studies: ME's office

A Texas medical examiner has performed the initial autopsy on missing Texas mom Christina Lee Powell, whose body was discovered in the passenger seat of her car earlier this week, Fox News Digital has learned.

A spokesperson for the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that personnel performed the autopsy on Monday.

But the cause and manner of the 39-year-old woman’s death were not immediately available, as the results are "pending further tests and studies," a spokesperson for the office said when reached by phone on Tuesday. The spokesperson could not say what specific additional testing was needed.

The mall complex is located approximately four miles away – a 10-minutes drive – from her Red Hill Place home.
Hmm.

Apparent suicide and car had been there the entire time

This still sure doesn't say much or explain much. Suicide by what? New job and told them she would be right in so why didn't she go there? Did she quickly that moment on rushing out the door have a way of committing suicide when driving to this plaza four miles away? Certainly a sudden decision or so it appears and unplanned then...? I only saw the still image which doesn't appear to be rushing out of the home, did they ever release the video showing her rushing?

Just saying it really still doesn't offer much other than saying she/the car was there the whole time and it was suicide. Why is it she wasn't noticed all that time? Was she parked out of the way? It says it was a "busy" place....

they said it was the anniversary of something tragic for her, but I never saw what it was the anniversary of.

"I just don’t understand. How was her car parked there for so long and nobody noticed it?” Powell’s friend Lauren Leal said."
And I don't get that either. In a busy mall?! With her body in the passengers seat?!

Of when dad took her youngest son or youngest son went to live with dad. Yet she was seeing dad but still I guess it was a bad anniversary for her per her mother I think. Also they argued. Still doesn't seem like enough and again, was this just spur of the moment planned...

I don't either and I'd like to know if it was on her route to work still...

I read in one article that she was slumped over into the passenger seat. If her windows were tinted very much, it could be easy to miss anybody basically laying down. The time it was there unnoticed is a bit disturbing though, especially when the car info had been out there all that time, too.

She apparently went directly to this location. I do wonder why this particular spot. Was she hoping to be found quickly?

She did not leave the vehicle once she arrived. That eliminates my thought that she may have purchased some medication. But not that she may have taken some she already had. Also she was found in the passenger seat. Why climb over? To make it easier for someone to drive the vehicle later?

Preliminary indications are she died of heat stroke. Though they're still waiting on further testing (presuming toxicology). Some cold/allergy meds can make you more susceptible to the heat...

Security footage shows Texas mother Christina Powell arriving at the strip mall later just 30 minutes after she had left home in a rush — but her body wasn’t found until 3 weeks later.

Powell’s mother, Claudia Mobley, 70, told The Daily Mail that police showed her footage from a jewelry store at the mall that showed that her daughter never got out of the car when it pulled into the shopping center and that she was alone at the time.

Bexar County Medical Examiner has not yet declared an official cause of death but told the outlet she appears to have died from hyperthermia or overheating.

Mobley said she believes her daughter suffered from anxiety and must have been overcome by the heat after not feeling well.

She does not think that Powell would have wanted to take her own life. More than anything, she’s upset that it took so long for security to find her daughter.

So she climbed over and sat there until she died. So weird. If she was heavily drugged of course....my heart goes out to her family ❤️

So now I’m thinking that she was distraught and not thinking straight at all. She might’ve been extremely depressed about what had occurred the year before. How sad!

I wonder if she moved over to the other seat because it was easier to move around without the steering wheel in the way. Maybe she was doing something before hand, like reading or Stretching out or something.

So she never got out of the car as in to walk around to the passenger side to get in even? So moved to the passenger side while in the vehicle?

I am unsure how they can assume suicide if no note etc. It could be just overdose (unintentional), heat (unintentional), illness and passing out, etc.

Not caught up in reading recent links. Hope to do so later today.

This seems suspicious to me. She was really going to drink before to work. Or on the drive there?. She was in her car, Parked in the same location for a week?. I'm sure there are people who work in the business's that park in that lot everyday. No one noticed a person in the vehicle?. Especially the passenger's side?. My best guess is it was her ex. He dumped the car until he couldn't stand the odor. And/Or came up with what he thought was a reasonable plan. Incapacitated her with alcohol and left her outside where he knew she would die of exposure. I believe she was deceased later on that night when the temperature dipped. IMO This was not voluntary. In any case this is very tragic, Senseless and mysterious.

Well I have to say I can't think of another one like this. Hypothermia as in loss of heat?

She managed to tell work she was coming in, get dressed and apparently or likely showered (or not) left home as seen on video, drove with no issue until she parked in a parking lot, moved to the passenger seat and died from alcohol and hypothermia??

It does say she was under a doctor's care for medication and some condition though....

But that doesn't sound like suicide which is how it first was being guessed at, it sounds accidental...

This is one that is never going to likely make sense unfortunately. Heatstroke would make more sense to me but then I don't know the ins and outs of all of it or medical side.

May she RIP and her family and son find some comfort somehow.

In my defense, my brain can't keep up with all I have going on and my body most definitely can't. Just quickly catching up on some in here is about all I have done here and there and don't really have time to take it in and think about it. Now thyroidism i would have known there was a hyper and a hypo... Don't think I knew that with thermia but makes sense.
