Some unsolved Florence cases more than 20 years old

Wednesday, Jun 20, 2007 -

FLORENCE -Cathy Hicks Parrott wasn't the type of woman who would walk out on her family and responsibilities.

But one day in July 1992, the 32-year-old Florence woman didn'tt show up for work. She wasn't at the scene where her car later was found wrecked on Campbell Street, not far from Mount Zion AME Apartments in Florence.

She didn'tt return home to her 12-year-old daughter.

Cathy Hicks Parrott was reported missing on July 23, 1992, and no one has seen her since that date, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said. ''She was a hard-working mother. This gives me reason to believe she wouldn't up and walk off like this.''

Parrotts case is among eight unsolved homicide and missing persons reports Florence police still are investigating.
