Louisiana State Police say missing 2-year-old Slaughter boy believed to be in 'imminent danger'

The Louisiana State Police has issued a Level II Endangered Missing Child Advisory on behalf of the East Feliciana Sheriff’s Office for a missing 2-year-old child.

The child was reported missing from his residence on Maglone Lane in Slaughter.

The child was last seen with his father, Orin Hollingsworth, on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. and is believed to be in imminent danger, according to state police.

State police say he was not wearing socks or shoes when he was last seen. Carson suffers from a severe medical condition that requires daily medication, according to the alert issued.

Orin Hollingsworth is wanted for questioning in the child’s disappearance. Hollingsworth is a 35-year-old man with brown hair, brown eyes and a beard.

U.S. Marshals join search for missing two-year-old from Slaughter

U.S. Marshals are now joining forces with State Police and the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office in the search for missing two-year-old Carson Hollingsworth from Slaughter, which is about 20 miles north of Baton Rouge.

The boy was last seen with his father on Sunday evening. Orin Hollingsworth is believed to be driving a white 2003 Tahoe with the license plate 860EIT.

Police say Carson suffers from a severe medical condition that requires daily medication, which officials believe his father does not have.

The two-year-old has blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and a white and purple Luvs brand diaper.

East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Jeff Travis says the boy's father got into an argument with family members before leaving with the child and is wanted for questioning. Hollingsworth is a registered sex offender who was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2011, according to WBRZ.

"We really all need to rally together to stay focused if we see anything because what we're trying to do is help a child. As we all know our children are our greatest asset, they can't take care of themselves. And we have to step up and do everything we can to try to bring Carson home safely."

Missing toddler found safe 70 miles from home 2 days after statewide alert issued, officials say

A medically fragile toddler reported missing from the East Feliciana Parish town of Slaughter earlier this week was found safe two days later about 70 miles from home, officials said.

Carson Jeffrey Hollingsworth, 2, was reportedly taken to a camp — that is, a weekend getaway — roughly an hour-and-a-half away in Belle River with his father, Orin Hollingsworth, Louisiana State Police announced in a news release late Tuesday night.

"Carson has found in good condition and will be reunited with his mother," State Police wrote in announcing his discovery.
