Miami police are searching for a young California mom who seemingly vanished last week while sightseeing with her boyfriend during a vacation in the Sunshine State.

Angela Morrisey, 23, was last seen at the Bayside Market Place in downtown Miami on March 28, boyfriend Amir El-Badry reportedly told police, according to CBS4 Miami.

El-Badry said the couple was waiting in line for a boat tour when Morrisey stepped away to use the bathroom and never returned.

“I’m hurting in my soul wondering where my daughter is,” Darnella Melancon, Morrisey’s mother, told CBS4.

“I have her two daughters here, my granddaughters, and they’ve been asking for her every day. ‘Mommy, where’s mommy? When can mommy come? We want to talk to mommy.’ And it’s hard because I don’t really know what words to really say,” she said.

Melancon said she found inconsistencies in El-Badry’s statements and was waiting to hear more.
“So, I believe the police agreed that there were too many inconsistencies,” she continued. “So, today, they did have him do a recorded interview and I still haven’t heard from my daughter at the end of the day.”

El-Badry told Local10.com that he and Morrisey traveled from Sacramento to Miami on March 26 and that she was the mother of his two children.

“I really came out here because I wanted a romantic setting, because I was going to propose to her,” El-Badry said.

Morrisey, who is Native American, stands 5-feet 5-inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, police said.

She was last seen wearing a black shirt with a white design, black shorts and white shoes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call 305-603-6300 or 305-579-6111, police said.

Sounds like some mental break / mental health issue... Strange.

‘Alone, hungry and tired.’ New details shed light on California woman’s disappearance

Wandering the streets alone, hungry and tired, Miami was supposed to be a vacation getaway for Angela Morrisey. For three weeks, no one had heard from her, as family and police tried to find her.

But one man knew exactly where she was the week before she had suddenly called 911 asking for an ambulance.

When police arrived, Morrisey was with Hurley Mauricio Anderson, a man who worked at a nearby warehouse, according to Medley police reports. Through questioning, Anderson shed light on where Morrisey had been during some of the time she was missing.

Anderson says he found Morrisey wandering the streets about a week ago. She was “along, hungry and tired,” he told police. He gave her a place to sleep at the warehouse he looks after.

For a week, Morrisey was sleeping in a white Volkswagen parked outside the warehouse. The car belonged to the business. Anderson says he gave her food and clothing.

When Anderson found out Morrisey was missing he told her and asked if he could call her family, but she refused so he didn’t. When police asked why he didn’t call anyway, he could not explain it.

Morrisey was taken to a local hospital and then interviewed by Miami officers. She was then sent to another medical facility to undergo treatment for a non-life-threatening condition.

“I am just waiting to see her, hug her and pray with her,” said Melancon, who is also a minister. “I don’t want to go back to California without her.”

Anderson took a trip down to Miami Police Department to speak with Special Victims Detective Wong. Miami police say the case is closed. Anderson has not been charged with a crime.

Wow! I’m sure glad that man took her in and it seems he didn’t harm her in anyway.

In no way ever do I want to make light of mental illness or mental breaks. I will say however, it is so commonly given as a reason for so many things these days, in so many cases, I don't automatically believe it in every case. Not saying at all that it is not true here but the part where "he couldn't explain it" and a few other things in this case puts my radar up a bit. No matter the case, I am glad she is safe and alive.
