Missing Cohasset woman Ana Walshe last seen on New Year's Day

Cohasset police are looking for Ana Walshe, a missing woman who was last seen early in the morning on New Year's Day.

Walshe lives in Cohasset with her family, but she spends the workweeks in Washington DC. Her husband was not able to speak with WBZ-TV as he cares for their three young children, but family and friends near and far are growing desperate for her safe return.

"We're doing anything and everything, turning the world over to find her," said Alissa Kirby, Ana's friend in Washington DC.

Concern is growing, from Cohasset to the nation's capital, over her whereabouts and well-being. She works as a commercial real estate executive in DC, but her greatest passion and priority - her young sons in Massachusetts.

Police say the 39-year-old was last seen at her home in Cohasset shortly after midnight Sunday. Happy New Year messages were never returned.

Does anyone know if this one is being live streamed? I'd probably watch some of it it is. Definitely won't be watching all as I have 3 appts. this week so time will be limited but hopefully can see some of it. IF it is live streamed that is.

He admitted to illegally disposing her body but has6 nothing to do with her death. Can you hear my eyes rolling so hard on that?🙄
He could get away with it. If he says they were having a row and she fell down the stairs and broke her neck for example. Or any scenario where he thought he would be blamed. So he got rid of the body, which he is admitting to right? Sure is a weird one.

He is being blamed, no matter what happened, so that really wouldn't work much. You don't cut up a body and dispose of it if the simply fell down the stairs and it's not your fault, Innocent people call 911. His story makes absolutely no sense, especially if you add in his searches.

It would take one heckova gullible juror to buy into that story and I sure wouldn't want that person to have to make any real decisions in life.

As I said, any scenario but I guess he is not going to give evidence. Maybe they should just charge what he will admit to and get him in prison for that. Deal with the cause of death at a later time, when they have a body.

Just a refresher of some pretty damning searches by him, with or without a body. Things like "crime scene" and "murder" don't scream accident either.
So she "accidentally" died, and he's worried about chopping her up, if she'll be identified / traced back to him, being charged with murder, etc.

This is why his plea makes no sense to me, unless they are so very confident that these searches will not be allowed.

Well they have to try something for a defense and I guess this is the route they decided to go.

I don't think it will work but we will certainly find out if it does.

I guess no one knows if it is being live streamed or not? I've had no chance to try to check it out, and a travel day tomorrow so won't get one then either. Just trying to catch up here for a bit on all the cases so I'm not too far behind when I get home.

"Certainly from the government standpoint, they're going to stress the mountain of circumstantial evidence that they have against him with respect to his [Google] searches," Coyne said. "The defendant will argue some of that is inadmissible evidence because he's pled out to those charges."
Coyne said to expect more surprises from the defense when it comes to openings — including the possibility they hold out on giving their opening statement entirely until it's their turn to present their case.
"What it allows the defendant to do is then structure their defense around what proof the government was able to introduce during its case, and allows them to more aggressively respond to the government's case," Coyne said.
In our latest episode, Coyne also discusses the possibility of Walshe himself testifying, and the differing PR tactics between his legal team and that of Karen Read's, who was acquitted of murder earlier this year at the same courthouse.
The Searches for Ana Walshe is available wherever you get podcasts.
Here's how to keep up with the trial once testimony begins Monday.

Brian Walshe murder trial jury selected, opening statements ahead

Opening statements were today and some testimony I think. I went in a couple of times, first time they were on break, second time wasn't sure who was on the stand and then shortly after then went to lunch. In between I had an appt. So I only caught some discussion on what people thought and very little to none of the trial. It's on though and started today. Judge is watching the weather for tomorrow and if weather is bad, jury may not have to come in or may be let go early, I did catch that much.

Tipton presses Guarino on search results

Larry Tipton is asking if he can say what search results would be returned when asking on the internet how to dispose of a body.

Guarino responds that search results are constantly changing.

Tipton asks if its possible for results such as cemetery locations to populate, and raises the possibility of needing to be more specific by perhaps adding terms like "murder."

"It's fair to say when someone is using specific search terms, sometimes you have to add more search terms to get information that might be more helpful to what you're asking about," Tipton asked.

"You would then have to add another search term like murder to get more specific information you're looking for."

"I can't say," Guarino said.

Court is adjourned for the day.

Sounds reasonable.
