Alexis was last seen with her 5-month-old son, Messiah Morales, and they were in her silver 2006 BMW X5 SUV. Elkhart County Police say the license plate number is MULA LUV. An image of the vehicle was released Thursday afternoon.

Alexis told friends she was going back to her residence in New Paris.

Family of missing mom and son ask community for help

A mother and her 5-month-old baby are missing, and the family is asking for the communities help in finding her.

Alexis Morales (27) and her 5-month-old son Messiah were last seen at Kelly Park around 7 pm on April 12th.

She was enjoying a cookout with friends at the park before she told them she was heading home to her residence in New Paris to feed her son.

But when her mother woke up for work the following day, she realized her daughter had never made it home.

“This is unnormal; this is not like her. She would have called me at least or dropped the baby off to me if she wanted to go out and have more fun. I mean, I’ve never had her phone off like this for three days, and like we just cannot get a hold of her. No phone calls, no nothing. She hasn’t got in contact with none of her friends. So, I don’t know where they could be, and if you just have any tips, please help me find my two babies,” said Sandra Piggie, mother of Alexis and Grandma of Messiah.

Skimmed it all. I knew what I thought by the third post. All new to me and of course I haven't seen any social media. I thought my usual in such cases. Read further and it just made me think it more.

5 month old. Not given dad's last name. First thing I noted.

I am going on having read little so could be way off base. I just encountered this thread and skimmed it.

On the other hand, I could not know a lot that others might as I haven't read any links and don't know the rumors.

I’m waiting on this case till things get sorted out. This is a really strange one to me.
And if you've seen even 10% of the social media posts, it's even stranger. Also waiting for this one to get sorted a bit.
Autopsy was supposed to be Friday. I imagine they're also waiting on getting things sorted out and in order before releasing more info or proceeding with a case against anyone.

There are times I am tempted to read the SM on cases but resist mostly. I don't have the time for one and I've been away from SM and really think I prefer keeping it that way for the most part. Sometimes rumors in cases I will hear or SM talk on YT or read in comments there or something but most of the creators I watch are pretty decent ones who stay away from most SM on it.

I'm not against watching it or looking at it, I mean I have in some cases followed a link and did so, etc. This one for instance, now I am curious what is being said or thought in this case...

I'm not opposed to hints or knowing I guess I'm saying... :)

Police: Alexis Morales suffered from gunshot wounds

Police say Alexis Morales, the 27-year-old missing mother from Elkhart County found dead in South Bend last month, suffered from gunshot wounds.

Alexis and her 5-month-old son Messiah Morales, who is alive, were found inside an SUV connected to a Silver Alert back on April 19. The two went missing on April 12 after attending a gathering at Kelly Park in South Bend.

Police did not have any update on Messiah’s condition, but officials say they are working with the Department of Child Services.

Alexis’s death was ruled a homicide though police are not specifying her cause of death. Police have yet to name any suspects.

Well she didn't kill herself. The child was alive and left. No one stole the SUV. Child services is involved but why, can he not go to his father? As I noted above, the child doesn't have the father's last name.

Just pointing out the parts that seem like facts.

Community members gather to pray for Alexis Morales

Community members gathered in South Bend on Thursday to remember Alexis Morales, the mother found dead in South Bend last month, with her baby boy found alive in the same car.

“And it’s just tragic, it’s just terrible,” said Tina Velthuizen, a Chaplin at Memorial Hospital.

Based on information from the police we know that on April 12th, Alexis Morales attended a gathering at Kelley Park, and never made it home.

The homicide is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the South Bend Police Department, or Michiana Crime Stoppers.

Michiana Unsolved: The Homicide of Alexis Morales

It’s a case that continues to haunt our community as we wait for answers.

A young woman and her baby reported missing. Days later, one of them was found alive, the other found dead.

“What I can say is, it was not on the 19th when Alexis was killed. We do believe she was there longer than that just one day, which means baby Messiah was also there longer than just that one day,” Lt. Miller said.

If you have any information on who killed Alexis, you are encouraged to contact Michiana Crime Stoppers. Remember, every single tip is 100-percent anonymous. If your tip leads to the solving of this case or an arrest, you are eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
