The Zodiac Killer in California - Identified?

Just starting another thread since one hasn't been re-started since the crash of '20.

The SFPD said, soon after the GSK was nabbed, that they'd use a similar technique with the Zodiac's DNA. Due to the amount of time that has passed, I'm assuming nothing came of it.

I can't remember how long it took but wasn't it the GSK that it took some major paperwork and time. I mean they had to start like at the wide range of DNA and build family trees and search down and through and build branches, etc.? Check and eliminate and more? I am thinking it was more than a few years... I am thinking I saw a show about it and it was slow and painstaking and took a fair number of years...?

Or do I have the wrong case in mind, which very well could be?

If I am correct, I am just saying maybe there is still a good chance with the Zodiac killer, even after this amount of time?

And again, I could be all wet and have the wrong case in mind but I don't think so... With the GSK...
 
I read a zodiac killer book decades ago. I have no idea who wrote it. I know one thing, I was scared to go to sleep at night for a week. That guy taunted everyone and then just disappeared? I used to think that he probably died or was put in prison and but now after the Golden State killer was caught, I don't know?

It would be cool if they could solve it. In addition to GSK think about how long BTK took to catch.

There are several podcasts out there. This one looks pretty interesting. Maybe I'll go down the rabbit hole again.

Love that you linked up to this podcast. Tenderfoot TV's "Monster" series has been nothing short of impressive! They recently completed their series on the DC Sniper, which was incredible and well done. The Atlanta Monster one is also good, which is about the Atlanta Child Murders.
 
I personally think it was "Arthur Lee Allen". Just because the DNA didn't match on the envelope could be explained away.

1. He had a "Zodiac" brand watch with the same insignia as the crosshairs on the outfit worn at "Lake Berryessa".
2. He made the comment to someone about "Picking off kiddies as the bounced off the bus". Exact quote from one of the letters.
3. He wore same size and type of "Wing walker" Boots only availble on military px stores.
4. He used "Christmass" as a word as stated by sister in law. He thought it was funny. That word was used in one of the letters.
5. He was I.D.ed by a friend of "Darlene Faryday" as "Lee" as attending a painting party at Darlene's house. Allen went by "Lee".

DNA from an envelope that contained one of the letters was tested. It didn't match
But you can have someone lick an envelope for you. That doesn't deter my feelings it's Allen. There is too much weird coincidences and circumstantial evidence.
 
And I still think it was "Allen". But whoever it was, I believe they are long deceased. A guy like that, You weren't going to get a death bed confession.
