KY CRYSTAL ROGERS: Missing from Bardstown, KY - 3 July 2015 - Age 35 *ARREST*

The parents of a Kentucky woman last seen 10 days ago suspect foul play in her disappearance.

Crystal Rogers, 35, a mother of five, was last seen by her live-in boyfriend, Brooks Houck, on July 3, according to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.

Houck has said he had nothing to with Rogers’ disappearance. He has been extremely cooperative with investigators, police said, and he took a polygraph test.

A Kentucky police officer has been fired for allegedly tampering with an investigation regarding the missing girlfriend of his brother, who has just been named the only suspect in her disappearance.

Crystal Rogers, 35, has been missing since July 3. Her boyfriend, Brooks Houck, has claimed the last time he saw the mother of five was the night before, playing games on her phone.

The only clue in Rogers disappearance was her maroon Chevy Impala, which was found unlocked and with a flat tire on Bluegrass Parkway on Saturday.

Inside were her keys, purse and uncharged phone.

Investigation Discovery to air show on Crystal Rogers, Tommy Ballard

Crystal Rogers has been missing since July of 2015 and her father, Tommy Ballard, was shot and killed one year later. Last August, there was a multi-episode series on the unsolved cases and there is another episode that airs later this month.

"It's very hard. I don't care if it has been five years, ten years, they're still not here," Sherry Ballard said. "So we still miss them every day, just like it was yesterday. And I don't see this ever getting easier for us."

Sherry says it's still very difficult to recall what has happened over the past five years, but she knows she couldn't keep their names out there without it.

"I don't even want to call it a story because it's our life. So it's not a story. To keep their case going, I think that's the only thing that I can do, is keep it in the attention of everyone so it's not forgotten," Sherry said.

The show is called 'Still A Mystery' and will be one episode, unlike the multi-episode series that aired on Oxygen in August. But it will still cover both cases.

'Still A Mystery' airs Tuesday, June 23 at 9 p.m.

Crystal Rogers' daughter talks about life without her mom during the 5 years she's been missing

This week marks five years since Crystal Rogers was last seen in Bardstown. Her disappearance has garnered national attention, but there are still no answers and no signs of her.

For the first time, one of Crystal’s five children sits down with WDRB and talks about what life has been like without their mom.

“Waking up every day and not being able to wake up and be like ‘Hey mom’ and ‘What are you going to do today?’ Just like normal little things. The little things really matter more than the big huge things,” Kyleigh Fenwick said.

It's those millions of little things she has missed out on for five years now. Now 19 years old, Kyleigh was just 14 at the time of her mom’s disappearance.

“People say it gets easier. It never gets easier,” she said.

Several weeks after Crystal's disappearance, the Nelson County Sheriff's Office announced Crystal was presumed dead and named Brooks Houck the main suspect.

“In my heart, I know he's 100% guilty,” Ballard said. “And I just think to myself — your day is coming.”

Houck has never been charged with a crime in Crystal’s disappearance.

:sigh: I think he's guilty- with his brother being on the police force and "tampering with the investigation" this stinks to high heaven. I wish an arrest would be made; I'm almost out of hope for this case being resolved.

Ballard family says no new information since remains found one week ago

It's been one week since the FBI's Evidence Response Team was called in to recover possible human remains in Nelson County.

The remains, discovered in a rural area near the border of Nelson and Washington counties, were sent to the FBI's lab in Quantico, Virginia for testing.

Days after the remains were discovered, WHAS11 learned police notified the family of Crystal Rogers, a Bardstown mother who has been missing for over five years.

Officials said there is no timeline for when they may receive answers, and said they will not be commenting any further until they receive official results as there are multiple families of missing persons in the area.

FBI retrieves Crystal Rogers' car from mother's storage unit on second day of investigation

Federal agents were back in Bardstown on Friday for a second day of investigating the disappearance of Crystal Rogers, but they are keeping a tight lid on information about the case.

In addition, the FBI towed Roger's car from a storage unit where it's been kept since her disappearance. It's unclear specifically what agents are looking for with the car.

The FBI in Louisville took the lead in the case on Thursday and immediately sent 150 law enforcement officers to Nelson County to serve nine federal warrants. The warrants were focused on the home of Brooks Houck along with the home of his brother, Nick Houck, and the family farm. Federal investigators also say they plan to interview 50 people in connection with the case.

Federal agents enter third day of area searches in Crystal Rogers case

Federal agents remained on the ground Saturday morning on one of at least three sites two days after the FBI announced it was now the lead agency in the search for Crystal Rogers.

Most activity was centered around the Houck family farm off Paschal Ballard Lane Friday and Saturday.

Agents also raided the homes of Brooks Houck, Rogers’ boyfriend when she went missing in July 2015, and his brother, Nick Houck, Thursday morning.

Neither of the brothers were arrested and they were released back into their homes after the agents cleared the scenes.

FBI Spends Weekend at Houck Farm in Crystal Rogers Investigation

FBI Louisville’s investigation into the disappearance of Crystal Rogers continued into the weekend. On Saturday, the federal agency confirmed to Spectrum News 1 that it will continue its search at a farm owned by the family of Roger’s former boyfriend Brooks Houck.

The road leading to Paschal-Ballard Road where the Houck family farm is in Bardstown has been closed since Thursday, August 6 when FBI Louisville first executed a search warrant at Houck’s family farm. The farm is the last known place where Rogers was seen, before she was declared missing on July 3, 2015.

A nearby neighbor, who didn’t want to be named, told Spectrum News 1 he and his wife have lived nearby since the 1980’s. “It’s very peaceful out here, and it’s rare when something breaks the peace like this does, in terms of making it unsettling,” the neighbor said. “There’s obviously tons of cars back there or something is going on.”

FBI Louisville is still waiting on results from the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia regarding the remains found at the Nelson County-Washington County border, just over a week ago. The federal agency also said it does not have a timeframe of when the lab results of the remains found will be ready.

'Take a moment and remember': FBI still seeking any and all info related to Crystal Rogers case

The FBI continues to seek any and all information anyone might have on the disappearance of Crystal Rogers now that the federal agency is the lead on the investigation.

It's been over a week since the FBI descended into the Bardstown community after announcing that agents were taking over the case into the high-profile disappearance.

The FBI has kept quiet about where the investigation currently stands, but the investigative agency has been consistent in one approach: agents want to talk to anyone who might have information, "even if you do not believe your information is relevant, we still ask you to contact us with any information from this time period and location," officials said.

"As with many investigations of this scope, each of us may be able to assist with what we know and recall, and that assistance may very well be crucial to moving forward," investigators in the case said in an update Friday.

Some of the questions the FBI is asking of the community is to think and remember whether they were in the vicinity of Poplar Flat Road or Farmaway Drive. Where were you during the early-morning hours of July 4, 2015?

"Can you remember what you saw, or what you have heard? Do you recall anything unusual or out of place that morning near that location?" the FBI said.

The FBI is also asking anyone with surveillance video of the area to come forward.

All-in-all, the FBI is calling on the community to share any and all information from anyone who was in the area at the time of Rogers' disappearance.

FBI using new resources, fresh eyes in quest to crack Crystal Rogers investigation

What happened to Crystal Rogers five years ago?

Federal agents have been searching Bardstown for two weeks to answer that question, but the puzzle remains a mystery.

"We are tying up all the loose ends and putting the pieces of this puzzle together," said Brian Jones, assistant special agent in charge with FBI Louisville. "I think there is so much to these cases that it's inevitable that some things could be missed. We could be missing things. That's why we have a pretty significant push to try and find out what have we missed.

"What information is out there that we don't know about? If we had all the information, the cases would be solved."

Along with the IRS, the FBI is gathering evidence in a number of locations in neighborhoods and a storage unit with Rogers' belongings.

"I think any cold case is difficult," Jones said. "Some of evidence — you are trying to recreate things that happened a long time ago."

The FBI now says the human remains found last month are estimated to be female between the ages of 24 and 82. Investigators are still waiting on a DNA match to see if it is Rogers.

Hmm. I think they know more than we think and they are after things we don't know about and holding their cards close... Maybe reading too much between the lines but it gives me hope...

One month passes since Nelson County remains found; here’s what we know today.

The discovery of possible human remains was first reported on July 23 when a property owner found what he believed to be human remains along the bank of Hardins Creek, near the Nelson County and Washington County line.

The man who owns the property on the other side of the creek showed WHAS11 the grave, which sits on a river bank. "It would be nice to know what happened, just to know and to have closure for the family -- whoever family's it is," he said.

He said record rainfall over the last three years has eroded the area by up to 10-feet, meaning what was found poking out of the side of the embankment wouldn't have been visible years ago. He also described the river as dramatically changing just over the last several weeks.

On July 24, the Nelson County Sheriff's Office requested the assistant of the FBI evidence team at the scene. The FBI team worked to recover what they could and then sent the remains to the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia, which is described as "the largest and most comprehensive lab in the world."

"They are working to identify those remains as quickly as they can," Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Brian Jones, said.

The FBI chalked up the wait time to high demand and a sizable backlog.

Late last week, the FBI released the first update on the remains. The update explained an extensive anthropological examination found the victim is likely a woman, 24 to 82-years-old and between 5-foot-two and 5-feet-9 inches tall.

The description does fit Crystal Rogers but it also fits other missing people... including 27-year-old Kara Rigdon, who's been missing from Marion County since July 2010.

I believe that all 5 murders in this little town come back to roost with Nick and Brooks Houck - I say 5 because I think Crystal is deceased. I think the first 3 are all Nick and the last two are Nick and Brooks together.

Call me crazy! :panic:

I haven't been keeping up with this case in a long time, are either one of them behind bars?
