Is anyone watching the Lindsay Clancy trial?

I am watching the Lindsay Clancy trial unfold, and this is easily one of the most difficult cases I have witnessed. Three children died and now the jury must decide if their mother was criminally responsible for their deaths.

The prosecution is arguing that her actions were premeditated and that she knew exactly what she was doing. The defense is arguing that her mental state impaired her ability to know or control her actions. There is still a lot of evidence to be presented, specifically the medical evidence, so I am trying hard not to make my mind up until it is all presented.

What I have noticed is how challenging it must be to determine actual mental illness versus a made-up legal defense. On the other hand, I do not want to focus so much on her state that we forget about the victims. They were the children who were killed.

What do you think of the evidence that has been presented so far?

Lindsay Clancy juror list kept confidential for 14 days

The jury list in the Lindsay Clancy trial has been impounded for 14 days.

Superior Court Justice William F. Sullivan issued the order, citing juror protection after the Clancy murder trial resulted in a hung jury.

The order of impoundment read: “The Supreme Judicial Court has recognized that the safety of jurors is crucial to the fair functioning of the judicial system, and that “the justice system owes them the highest degree of vigilance for their personal safety” Commonwealth v Silva, 448 Mass 701 (2007).

“Accordingly, the Court orders that the list identifying the names of empaneled jurors in this trial be impounded. This Order shall not preclude any juror from identifying himself or herself and/or from speaking to the public about his or her jury service.

I think they should always be like this. No juror should be outed by anybody other than the juror themselves .

And this case is exactly why! As people’s opinions are more and more deeply divided, and social media allows people to dox each other, protecting jurors is getting more and more important.
