Missing Texas woman's truck found on fire in her last known location​

Authorities are intensifying their search for Nicole "Nikki" Winder, a 53-year-old woman who has been missing since February 25, 2026.

Winder was last seen around 3:00 p.m. in the 19000 block of FM 974 in Brazos County, Texas. Shortly after, at approximately 4:00 p.m., her white 2025 Chevy truck with black rims was found on fire in the same area, an incident investigators suspect was arson, according to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to check security or game camera footage for any sighting of the vehicle between 3:00 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. on the day of her disappearance. Winder is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds, with green eyes and blond hair. She was last seen wearing a dark grey shirt and pink pants.

Texas authorities are searching for a missing 53-year-old woman they say “may be in danger of death or serious bodily injury.”

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office said that Nicole “Nikki” Winder was last seen at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and her white 2025 Chevy truck was found on fire about an hour later.

“Investigators believe the vehicle fire was the result of arson,” the sheriff’s office said.

Search continues for missing Brazos County woman Nicole Winder​

Authorities in Brazos County are searching for Nicole “Nikki” Winder, who was reported missing on Wednesday, Feb. 25, and has yet to be found.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office states that search efforts have been conducted every day, and those efforts remain ongoing. Search teams have covered large properties along FM 974, from Highway 21 to Macey Road. The Sheriff’s Office says investigators and other search personnel are following leads and conducting thorough search efforts in assigned areas.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office thanks agencies assisting with the search, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers, Texas DPS Air Support, Brazos County Constable’s Office Precinct 2, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Search and Rescue, Search Dog Network, Texas A&M University Police Department K-9 Division, and Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley.


The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office continues to urge anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Nicole “Nikki” Winder to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (979) 361-4900 or their local law enforcement agency.
 

Search for Nicole Winder enters day six​

It is day six in the search for 53-year-old Nicole “Nikki” Winder who was first reported missing last Wednesday.

Now on day six, the BCSO says the search is expanding as investigators are following new leads and pushing into surrounding areas. Investigators say the fire that destroyed her 2025 Chevy truck was arson.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputies and assisting agencies spent the weekend searching all along FM 974 using drones, dogs and a boat.

Most of the search has focused on properties along FM 974 near Aggieland Safari. Nathan Dennis with the sheriff’s office said the area has been searched extensively.


The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a CLEAR Alert (Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue).

A CLEAR Alert in Texas is an emergency system designed to locate missing, kidnapped, or abducted adults, typically 18-64, who are in imminent danger or whose disappearance is involuntary.

The Sheriff’s Office says its priority remains finding Nikki and ensuring a thorough and complete investigation.
 

Search expands one week after missing Brazos County woman’s truck was found burned​

Exactly one week ago, 53-year-old Nicole “Nikki” Winder was first reported missing after the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car fire on an oil pad site on FM 974, a few miles north of Highway 21.

Nathan Dennis with the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said Monday that the search is expanding as investigators follow new leads and push into surrounding areas. Investigators say the fire that destroyed her 2025 Chevy truck was arson.

BCSO deputies and assisting agencies spent the weekend searching along FM 974 using drones, dogs and a boat.

“We have utilized drones, we’ve utilized helicopters, dog search teams, and everything that’s available to us,” Dennis explained. “We did finish up the search on those two properties that we were focused on, and those being where the truck was located and the property she was last seen at. So we are continuing to follow up on leads.”

Most of the search since Winder was reported missing on Wednesday, Feb. 25, has focused on properties along FM 974 near Aggieland Safari. Dennis said that the area has been searched extensively.

“I know that there’s a lot of questions of what different avenues have we looked into, and while we want to release everything that we do [it] could hurt the case in this criminal investigation,” Dennis said. “I can assure you that our investigators are examining every lead, every piece of evidence, and all the things that a lot of people have mentioned on social media.”


The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office is providing this update regarding the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Nicole “Nikki” Winder. Prior media releases have been condensed to present a clear and chronological timeline of events.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, just after 4:00 p.m., the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office and the fire department responded to a possible fire call on FM 974, just north of Highway 21. Upon arrival, personnel located a vehicle on fire parked on an oil pad site. The vehicle was later confirmed to belong to Nicole “Nikki” Winder.

Deputies and investigators immediately began efforts to contact Nikki. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that she had last been seen around 3:00 p.m. that same day in the 19000 block of FM 974, leaving a residence where she was employed.

After speaking with family members and friends and determining there was concern for her safety, an alert was initiated with our partners at Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley, followed by the issuance of a CLEAR Alert for Ms. Winder.

In the days that followed, coordinated search operations were conducted. Both the property where Nikki was last seen and the property where the vehicle was recovered have been extensively searched utilizing K-9 teams, drones, and the Texas Department of Public Safety Air Support Unit, along with assistance from the Search Dog Network, Texas Search and Rescue, and other supporting agencies.

We continue to ask residents in the area of FM 974 — particularly between Highway 21 and Macey Road — to review any available security or game camera footage from February 25, 2026. Anyone who observes Nikki’s vehicle, described as a white 2025 Chevy truck with black rims, or who has information regarding her whereabouts is urged to contact the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office at (979) 361-4900.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) released a photo of Nicole “Nikki” Winder’s white Chevrolet truck. This comes after Winder has been missing for more than a week, and law enforcement has expanded its search efforts.

Anyone with relevant footage or information is urged to contact the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office immediately.

Sheriff's office releases new images in search for missing Brazos County woman​

In the continued search for missing Brazos County woman Nicole "Nikki" Winder, the Brazos County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying an all-terrain vehicle captured on camera near the area where Winder's truck was later found on fire.

Investigators have released two images, linked above and in the Sheriff's office post below, connected to the disappearance of Winder. Both images were captured between approximately 3 and 4 p.m. Feb. 25, 2026, the day she went missing, on FM 974 near Jack Creek Road.

Search for Nicole Winder enters week three​

The search for 53-year-old Nicole “Nikki” Winder began exactly three weeks ago, as of Wednesday, March 18, 2026, after her car was found on fire at an oil pad off FM 974 north of Highway 21.

“We do have crews out there searching from day-to-day. Just any lead that would lead us into a certain direction, we’re going to put somebody there to go look,” said Sgt. Stephen Garon of the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office.


Now, almost a month later, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office says they’re still searching and assisting agencies are on standby.

“We continue to follow any tip and lead that comes in. Any information that anybody can provide to us, even outside of the time frame that we specifically asked for, just anything that anybody might have can give us some kind of key or answer to what we got going on,” Sgt. Stephen Garon said.

The sheriff’s office is encouraging anyone with information that could lead to locating Winder to contact the office. Brazos County Crime Stoppers is also offering a cash reward for anyone who may have information that could bring Winder home.

“This is the only way we could all help together. We thought this was the best idea so $5,000 is a lot of money and $6,000 from, adding in the other people,” said the President of Brazos County Crime Stoppers, Pam Cemino.
