Got my Masters degree from here. :(

Killer who stabbed 4 Idaho students to death still at large

The killer — or killers — who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remained at large Tuesday, prompting many students to leave the campus in the idyllic small town despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.

So many students had left the scenic tree-lined campus in Moscow, Idaho, by Tuesday that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

The students, all close friends, were found dead in an off-campus rental home around noon on Sunday, and officials said they likely were killed several hours earlier. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt told the Spokane, Washington-based television station KXLY that her preliminary investigation showed the students were stabbed to death. There is no indication that substance use was involved in the deaths, Mabbutt said.

Oh and she said she never suspected him which kind of disputes what I believe it was Dateline said... That was in last night's not sure about tonight's yet... Still listening.

If all recall, Dateline said some things that made it clear SOMEONE was leaking in the case and it created a bit of an uproar and the judge was NOT happy...

SHe doesn't seem to be reading it word for word as the one last night did, but she does seem to be covering all it said. THe one last night, the article was on the screen and one could follow along. Also it showed the sister now having purple hair in kind of a jagged cut. Previously she'd been a pretty young blonde woman.

So both have some different pics and info in them aside from the article. I'd say both are worth a watch. Maybe when I get done with this one I'll try to find the other and link it. Shall see.

The harrowing news had spread across the country in the fall of 2022: Four college students were found stabbed to death at a house near the University of Idaho campus. Mel Kohberger, who was preparing to start a new job as a mental health therapist in New Jersey, could not help feeling a sense of alarm.
Her brother, Bryan, was living just 15 minutes from the scene of the mysterious killings. Investigators had no suspects. And Bryan was just the type of person who would leave his door unlocked and go out on late-night jogs.
“Bryan, you are running outside and this psycho killer is on the loose,” she remembers telling him. “Be careful.” He thanked her for checking on him and assured her that he would stay safe.
In early December that year, her brother returned to their parents’ home in Pennsylvania for the holidays, and later that month, Ms. Kohberger got a call from her sister, Amanda. Law enforcement officers had burst into the house in the middle of the night, and placed Mr. Kohberger in handcuffs.
“She was like, ‘I’m with the F.B.I., Bryan’s been arrested,’” Ms. Kohberger said. “I was like, ‘For what?’”
The response: “The Idaho murders.” For a brief moment, she wondered if it was a prank. Then a sense of nausea overtook her.

Oh yeah, it was green. Couldn't remember, thought it was purple. Now people can do as they wish and many do it but she whas a lot nicer looking the other way. So the picture is in the article? Wasn't sure if it came along with it or if the show had it from elsewhere.

One of my thoughts was well they feel awful and she doesn't want to be recognized but that makes no sense or you wouldn't put such a picture out. And she made herself way MORE noticeable actually. And the style itself too. Huh.

Did you happen to watch the one with the body cam footage at all? Of the house and the roommate talking?

And what did you think of all she said?

I didn't go find that other one did I? I meant to but had a grocery order to get done and then I forgot about it.

I saw a little bit of what she said on one of the shows last night, too. None of it was surprising to me. If she wants to speak out, that’s her business, but it doesn’t really interest me very much.

So, first, all four families are on the same page with this and all are suing. This is 20 minutes and worth a listen. We knew a lot of this but not sure we knew all or I for sure didn't or had forgotten some. Of course we know of complaints of him from fellow female faculty etc. at the U. There's a lot more here though. Female students had to be walked to their cars because of him, Just how many complaints in how short of a time. That if U of WA had done a comprehensive background on him they never would have or should have brought him there. Details. He got there in the fall and by was it September there were already tons of complaints. The U was planning on cutting off his funding in December. The one guy said he was worried that Kohberger would sue them if they let him go. And so on and so on. Some of the females watched out for each other, would not leave the other alone with him, texted and checked or had code words to see if all okay. Saying if he HAD been fired or funding cut sooner he'd have likely left the area and went home AND had they done their due diligence they never would have brought him out there in the first place. And MORE.

Most probably know crime scene photos were released of the victims and the families were not very happy about it. Understandably.

I've stayed away from any video that seemed as if it may have had such in them.

More info gets released in this case all of the time as the court clerk and court keeps processing it all and the requests.

This video shows no such photos but has a lot of details that are heartbreaking and a bit graphic, like how many stab wounds to each victim, on what parts of the body, where each victim's blood was found and more. Then it gets into what was probably going to become a battle of the experts had it went to trial. They have what each expert was going to testify and the competing opinions.

It's good. Imo. Well worth a watch.

Angenette has started her own YT channel now and does lives too which a lot of them don't do, and I'm really liking her own channel but on here she is at her job on Law and Crime. Ashley Banfield has done the same. Brian Entin long has but he doesn't do lives. Ashley does a mix. Ashley and Angenette are a bit late to the game, as was news and most reporters with their personal channels, Vinnie as well, but of course they get big followings pretty quickly as their names are known. TV news is long past archaic. This paragraph has nothing to do with the video lol. I haven't always liked Ashley, or any of them at times, but out of the umbrella of the stations one gets to see them a bit more personally as they try to find their way in a thing very new to them. Anyhow, I'm really liking Angenette lately.

This show was for the news station and is good though. The above was kind of an "aside". It does detail a lot but without showiing the pictures and then gets into what the competing experts were going to testify to had this went to trial. It's good. Imo. About 26 minutes.

Oh no, I didn't know crime scene pictures were released. I don't like viewing things like that, so please warn me about any links that may lead to them.
I've put up no such links and won't. I haven't quite finished the one I just linked but it's clear to me she isn't going to link them. Ashley didn't either citing her decision as knowing the families and their grief and just how upsetting repeated new things are to them.

I don't want to see such but some of the details in this one I linked I do want to know and even the photos, which I don't want to see, can tell the story of what really happened. I believe in transparency but I don't think it necessary for other than prosecution and defense to see actual photos. They do give tox levels int he students and such in this one I linked. I understand why that matters in a case. However, of course we can't know what BK was amped up on if anything so his levels aren't questioned.

It's a good in between watch, no photos of anything bad. Some details though that definitely hit home.

Like some of the victim's blood was elsewhere in the home. And that each Xana and Ethan had each other's blood under their nails which I find as sad as it can get. I'm only saying that as it does get into some of those kinds of details, I found it quite sad but that it tells more of the story and then it goes to the battle that was going to come between the experts. I'm pretty sure when I watch the little bit I have left that no gory pics will be shown and it will end with that and the trial that would have resulted but that never happened.

I won't link anything that has the pics and there's been enough backlash that I don't think most will be airing them again and by the way, they quit releasing them but we all know that's a bit too late when they've already been shared...

Interesting AND sad is that it appears Xana went up the stairs and then back down the stairs... And that it gave BK 3 people to deal with unexpectedly to him and things just did not go as planned. It is already speculated he didn't expect to find Kaylee there but just Maddie.

I may have to listen to this twice. To see what makes them assume that. The prosecution. Or what shows that. In the beginning of the video it does say some of the various victim's blood was on the stairwell but I took such to mean BK left it or that the knife did with cast off, etc. From either the perp or the knife, etc. I have to go back and listen again as to figure how they'd know Xana went up the stairs and back down...

This case was so close to trial that a ton of what the experts were going to testify to on either side was already filed and is now being released.

Much has been released in this case even before now that hasn't even been mentioned here and I haven't kept up with all either but I think I basically have, when I see something new on it, I watch it, not sure I remember to link all, but of course I didn't with the photos.

I think they've all seen them, most reporters like Brian Entin, Ashley Banfield, etc. from what's been said. Brian had one that the title made me think he had or showed the photos so I refused to watch it and that's how I became aware of it.

This information has been coming out over months as the courthouse processes it for the tons of requests and will likely continue to do so.

From 7:17 to about 13:10, not long.

ID is exploring moving BK to another state due to the constant complaints by him, harassment by other prisoners and other problems it is creating, yada, yada, yada. Tons of complaints. About bananas even. Scott says, and I can't help but agree, that ID should NOT give him what he's been trying to get, which is moving him. They shouldn't reward him. Etc. More detail in the 6 minute info here.

There has been soooo much dumped in this recently. One could never probably update it all and reporters and podcasters are even having tons to go through to do several shows. It was so near trial, and so much was sealed, there is a lot about what the experts on each side were going to say, the photos were released, the details about each body, how many wounds and where and more.

Off the bat, Brian Entin shared photos. I could tell by the title and refused to go into that one. Not sure who all else did but he definitely did. I waited a few days and let it all settle some. Angenette Levy on her own new channel is covering it with some sensitivity but enough detail without using the photos. I was going to link one of hers earlier but never got around to it. She says all the pages and info is about 3 shows at least it will take. And this is just the release NOW, there have been others prior to this that imo were never totally caught up with.

She's a good one to check out and I'm really liking her personal channel. I think news/employers sometimes makes them hype things more.

It was a strike against Entin for me but I watched a later one of his today and Kaylee's parents are on it. I am absolutely flabbergasted they'd do his show when he is one of the ones who put the photos out there.

I guess the important thing from all of this was the trial apparently was going to come down to a battle of many experts on both sides and two key ones, one on each side. The defense, and some may like this, is trying to say this had to be the work of more than one person. There are a few reasons they give for this. Examples are numbers of wounds on each, where the sheath was (claim it was planted, they don't say by LE, or seem to be going to claim that), different types of wounds and various things. The parents also did not know a lot of things that are now being released and are just finding out some of it too and that's sad. BUT there is mixture of like Kaylee's and Maddie's that could not have gotten on top of BK's if planted so don't think the D would have gotten around some things. The D also cites lack of some things like blood in the car, etc. The P expert battles back on that. It's like you have their testimony that they were to give even though it never went to trial.

The conspiracy types and those that think he didn't do it are eating some of it up of course but he PLED guilty and admitted to it. No one forced him, he was WELL represented when he did.

There are a lot of other things. The tox is out (too bad they don't have one on HIM). Kaylee's parents had been told they all were asleep but it's made clear how some of them fought back.

There's so much and that's just the start of it and more they are still going through. I'd go with Angenette if I recommended anyone that wants to catch up a bit. The shows of all of them are going to be a bit long as they are having to take bits of a lot of info in long shows.

It's clear once again that Thompson should have insisted BK tell exactly what happened and how it went in exchange for a deal. Angenette says as much. They could have made it conditional too on him telling the truth and if they thought he wasn't, then no deal.

Tarot TikToker must pay $10M to professor she accused in Moscow murders, jury says

A jury in Boise awarded $10 million in damages Friday to a University of Idaho professor who sued a Texas woman for defamation over fabricated claims she repeatedly made on social media that the academic was responsible for the Moscow college student murders.

The jurors deliberated for just under two hours before handing down their decision, which awarded professor Rebecca Scofield far more than what her attorneys asked for in their closing argument.

Good! These people need to be made an example of what can happen if you do that
