Park, who is approximately 38 weeks pregnant, was last seen willingly getting into the passenger side of a dark-colored vehicle on Monday night around 11:30 p.m. outside a relative's home on South 21 1/2 Road.

The info that Becca and Kim had been estranged from Cortney- the better part of a year, was it?- until Cortney offered them money was not only informative but enlightening, I mean, I hadn't imagined that that had been the scenario.

I really like the adoptive mother! She is the salt of the earth!
Yeah adoptive mom said it was enough money that who wouldn't think twice, be tempted by it. Paraphrasing. We heard 2K, she said like 18K.

She is the salt of the earth in that she doesn't shy away from that things were not perfect, even with the girls when they became teens, etc. and that she couldn't of course control them once adults and so on.

that link you gave was a good listen, I've avoided reading the docs and the awful details.

Well, I don't know that YT channel from Adam- and I was unimpressed by the host, btw- but I was interested in hearing from the adoptive mother and was sure others would be, too.

I wanted to hear from her and wanted more info without my having to read the details and it provided both things. Not sure about the channel overall either as that's the only one I watched there lol.

The host was too melodramatic for my taste but besides that, she said "Cortney drops a bomb" that Brad was the father of the baby as though it's fact, as though Cortney was telling the truth.
And she said "it just came out in court docs."- again, as though Cortney is to be believed- that Cortney wanted to leave Brad and was in a relationship with Richard.
I wonder if she noticed what all Cortney didn't say (lol).

Defense asks judge to dismiss charges in Rebecca Park murder case. Here’s why

The defense attorneys for the couple accused of murdering Rebecca Park, a mother who was found dead in a forest, have asked a judge to dismiss the case.

Cortney Bartholomew, 40, and Bradly Bartholomew, 47, both of Boon, have been charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, conspiracy to commit torture, assault on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage/stillbirth, conspiracy to commit assault on pregnant individual causing miscarriage/stillbirth, unlawful imprisonment and removal of a dead body.

Cortney and Bradly are accused of luring Park to their Wexford County home, and then torturing her to remove her unborn child, which resulted in the death of Park and her baby. Park is Cortney’s biological daughter.

In court on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, the defense attorneys for the couple asked for the case to be dismissed, saying that the prosecution failed to give them evidence ahead of the probable cause hearing, despite a 21-day deadline, according to UpNorthLive.

They told the judge that the only document they have seen and reviewed is the probable cause affidavit, which they first retrieved through social media, and not the prosecution.

The defense attorneys said they haven’t gotten police reports, autopsy results or any physical evidence from the prosecution.

“At this point in time, my client continues to sit incarcerated, held without a bond. If the government is not prepared to move forward with this case, this case never should have been charged back in December when it was charged,” said Tracie Mccarn-Dinehart, Defense Attorney, according to UpNorthLive.

Due to this, the defense requested that the judge dismiss the case, grant Cortney and Bradly bond, or impose sanctions against the prosecution.

The prosecution responded that the discovery process is ongoing and noted that delays are typical in complicated cases. They urged the judge to continue holding the defendants without bond.

The judge refused to dismiss the case or set bond during the hearing on Tuesday, but scheduled a show-cause hearing that requires the prosecution and the Michigan Attorney General’s Office to justify the delay in providing discovery.

Evidence delays Rebecca Park case; unborn baby's remains still missing

The prosecution in the high-profile Rebecca Park case is facing scrutiny after defense attorneys moved to dismiss the murder charges filed against two family members citing delays in getting required evidence on time — what one former prosecutor described as an "inexcusable" failure by the prosecution.

Meanwhile a significant piece of evidence in the case that citizen sleuths and true-crime influencers online continue to press on is the location of Park's unborn baby's body. Investigators are still searching for the remains of the unborn baby authorities say died after being cut from Park's womb.

Judge rules show cause hearing unnecessary in Rebecca Park case

A probable cause hearing for a couple accused of killing 22-year-old Rebecca Park and her unborn baby is scheduled for March 6 at 2 p.m.

A judge ruled Thursday that a previously planned show cause hearing was unnecessary because evidence in the case is forthcoming.

Cortney Bartholomew and Bradly Bartholomew face multiple charges, including homicide, torture and conspiracy. A show cause hearing had been set after defense attorneys accused the Michigan Attorney General’s Office of withholding key evidence. At a court hearing in early January, lawyers for the defendants stated they had not received any information beyond the initial probable cause affidavit.

The judge addressed the missing evidence during today’s court appearance, stating that the materials are forthcoming. Because the evidence is being turned over, the judge determined there was no longer a need to proceed with the show cause hearing.

During the proceedings, the judge also requested a separate hearing to investigate why a prosecutor from the Attorney General’s Office did not attend. The official had been requested to be present at the court today but did not show up.

Pretty bad when the prosecutor doesn't show up to a hearing where their presence was requested.

But they had somebody in his place, right?
Doesn't sound like it by the wording since it doesn't state which one. Also, whomever didn't attend was specifically requested to attend prior.

Judge temporarily blocks release of Rebecca Park’s remains, preliminary exam set for May
A judge has temporarily halted the release of Rebecca Park’s remains as the defense in the case against Cortney and Bradley Bartholomew argues they need more time to review evidence and conduct an independent forensic examination.

During a hearing, the defense argued they are still receiving discovery from prosecutors and described the material as scattered, saying it is placing significant strain on their time and resources. Prosecutors responded that they are turning over evidence as they receive it, meaning both sides are continuing to get new information.

Defense attorneys also told the court they recently learned the coroner’s office plans to release Park’s remains on Monday. They objected, arguing they are entitled to conduct their own forensic review and are working to secure independent examiners.

The judge granted a temporary restraining order preventing the release of Park’s body for 30 days. The court said the order could be extended if the defense shows good cause.

Attorneys were instructed to file any motions related to competency by March 27 if they intend to pursue that issue.

A preliminary examination is expected to be held in mid-May, though a specific date has not yet been confirmed.

The Bartholomews are facing multiple felony charges, including torture and murder, in connection to the deaths of 22-year-old Rebecca Park and her infant.

Couple accused of killing daughter, removing her baby, will get mental competency exams

Attorneys for two people accused of fatally stabbing a 22-year-old woman and cutting her unborn son out of her womb have asked for mental competency exams before their murder cases proceed in a Northern Michigan court.

On Friday, lawyers for Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew asked for the competency exams during their clients’ appearance in 84th District Court, 9&10 News reported from outside the courtroom. The hearing was scheduled to be a preliminary examination for the Bartholomews, who are accused of killing Cortney Bartholomew’s biological daughter, Rebecca Park, late last year.

The Bartholomews both face several charges, including murder.

The judge agreed to the competency exams, which are expected to show whether they understand the criminal charges against them and can participate in their own defense.

Their next court hearing is scheduled for mid-May, the TV station reported.

Michigan Mom Accused of Murdering Her Pregnant Daughter and Cutting Out Her Baby Found Competent To Stand Trial

A Michigan woman accused of killing her pregnant daughter and cutting out her unborn baby has been found competent to stand trial in one of the state's most disturbing recent criminal cases.

Cortney Bartholomew, 40, of Boon, Michigan, was ruled mentally fit to face charges in Wexford County's 84th District Court after a court-ordered evaluation focused on whether she understood the proceedings and could assist in her defense.

She now faces a preliminary hearing that will determine whether there is enough evidence to send her case to trial, according to People.
