Woman missing after reportedly taking rideshare to Nashville apartment, police say

A search is underway after a woman went missing after reportedly taking a rideshare to a Nashville apartment complex, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

On Nov. 18, officers with MNPD were called to Twin Oaks Drive for a man trying to find his wife.

Officers said Scott Bach is searching for his wife, 37-year-old Tiffany Moore. Upon checking his Uber account, Bach told police he believes Moore was dropped off at the Twin Oaks Drive apartment.

Bach reportedly told police he heard noises coming from inside an apartment, but no one answered the door when he knocked.

Officers then contacted a woman who identifies as Moore’s sister. She said she had not heard from her since Moore sent a screenshot to her of her Uber ride. She told police that it was “uncharacteristic” of her sister to go without communication, as they reportedly speak daily.

Officers searched the building and knocked on all apartment doors. Residents told police they had not seen anyone matching Moore’s description. Police also conducted a hospital and jail check, which turned negative. They pinged Moore’s phone, which returned to a Cross Creek Road home.

A person at the home allowed officers to enter the home. Officers didn’t find her, and the resident said she didn’t know anyone by the name of Tiffany Moore.

Strange her phone would ping to a home but the woman living there claims not to know her...

It's all strange in fact. So did she use her hub's phone/account for an Uber or did they share the same account? And who sends their sister a screenshot of their Uber ride? I've taken an Uber on many an occasion and would never do that. Was she documenting something? A trip? Her leaving home for some reason? Etc.?

Lots missing here imo.

If it's apartments, they might have went to the wrong one, possibly wrong floor. I don't think a ping will tell you the height it's pinging from, so if it's a muli story building, they might not have gotten the right place.

It's also possible she went to the wrong apartment or got the apt number wrong.

All the Uber's here are required to have a lit Uber logo on when they are picking somebody up so the person knows it's the correct car.

People! If you get a rideshare pay atttention to the description of the car coming to pick you up and ask the driver their name to make sure it matches the name you are given!

I had the impression there was the apartment she was taken to but then a house where her phone pinged at, assumed they were separate locations?

Not sure if our Ubers are marked. I know they never used to be.

Yeah apparently she was dropped off at an apartment complex (that she didn't live at?) in an Uber. Then her phone pinged to a different house (that she didn't live at).
It would be pretty easy to identify the Uber driver...
The person in the home said they didn't know Tiffany. I wonder if they know the Uber driver. Or anyone at the apartment complex she was supposed to be dropped at.

A possibility would be someone lives with the woman in the house who had the phone on them, perhaps a son or something. Another possibility is someone threw the phone say out the window of a car and it is in her yard, not her house maybe or some such?

I wonder how the husband knew which apartment...? An address would be in his Uber app I guess but you wouldn't need to give an apt. # as it isn't like Uber delivers you to the third floor, Apt. 312, (example) or anything...

I still think it strange she sent her sister a pic of the Uber unless sister knew of her plans...

That's my question is how did he guess any certain apt by just checking Uber? I guess she "might" have entered it when she put in the address, especially if she just copy/pasted one she was given.

Whose apartment was she going to? Do her husband and and sister know that or was it just the building? What does she do for a living? Was this a work assignment or a friend she was visiting?

It says she was taking a "rideshare". What exactly is that? Did she get out at the wrong stop.

Did she have her phone with her?

Rideshare just means Uber or Lyft, etc. Usually you are the only passenger so I'm not sure why they call it that.

I don't think we know the answers to most of your questions, I have the same ones.

And we may never hear the details...

Glad she was found safe. Sounded kind of iffy from the start. Wonder why her phone pinged at someone's house and who the apartment belonged to still...

I got the feeling the husband was very controlling by checking "his"Uber account at the beginning. Most people I know have their own account. Then we went looking for her.
It kind of sounds like she might have gotten herself out of a bad relationship.
I'm glad she's safe.

I also think he knew far more about her location than just checking his Uber account. Did he install a tracker like an air tag or similar? That would lead him to a specific apt.

I think he was either controlling and perhaps she was even leaving him and/or he had reason to be as in was she seeing someone else or into drugs or anything? I mean it is strange it was an apartment, then the phone pinged at a home and now she was found in a hotel...THREE different places...

Okay I see now he said he is not her hub but is her bf and the father of her unborn child... So she is pregnant.

I went back and skimmed and it is unclear to me, did he report her missing the very day she took an Uber?

If she was trying to avoid the bf, makes no sense to me she woudn't respond to her sister...

Maybe as we said, she did put an apt # in the Uber app but it does say the cops knocked on every apartment door...

I don't think it is entirely unusual if hub and wife to share an Uber account if you usually take one together or if you have a card saved in the app but a bf and gf maybe more unusual. Normally you'd at lease have the app on both phones though...

You know, a tracker isn't necessarily going to track to an apt either but just as likely just the building location. WIth apts as close as they are together, I doubt any of it could differentiate down to the exact one. My next door neighbor's entry door is just a few feet from mine for instance and we share an inside walll...

Most people I know have one per phone.Otherwise the messages about your ride could go to the wrong person.

If there was a way for them to share an account, it without be THEIR account and not his. That also could be a reporting error since it doesn't seem to be a direct quote from him on what I read.

They can each have it on their phone but if joint, share the same log in, and both would see any ride on their phone if they wanted to.

For instance, my daughter, son-in-law and I share a Walmart account. I just had to move something out of the cart (asking her first) as they were shopping when I was, each from our respective homes. I just use her log in but my card and address instead of hers. Do it with Amazon too.

If he could see where she went then they either have a joint account or she used his.

Anyhow, yes, accounts can be shared.

He would have had to look it up the account looked to her phone on the computer. It is definitely linked to your phone.

Can two phones be logged into the same Uber account?

Account sharing is prohibited, as outlined in Uber's Community Guidelines, and serious or repeated reports indicating another person may have used your account may result in loss of access to the app
