7-month-old baby reportedly kidnapped during Yucaipa attack

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in finding a baby boy who was reportedly kidnapped.

Deputies responded to the 34000 block of Yucaipa Boulevard, an area near a shopping center and several stores, just before 8 p.m. Thursday regarding a 7-month-old boy who was reported missing. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, a woman reported that she was attacked outside a retail store, and during the attack, the baby was taken.

"K9 Units with scent tracking dogs also responded and conducted and an exhaustive search for the child and any possible suspects," the sheriff's department said in a statement.

"This is an active investigation, and we are seeking the public's help in locating the child," the sheriff's department posted on social media.

that judge deserved those scathing comments. He does soften it some here and there but just a little, mostly said it like it was.

the judge deserves to face an angry public imo and answer to them as well. I don't mean a mob, just upset people with questions and opinions he needs to answer to. Jmo.

Except the prosecutor was being a hypocrite. They BOTH need to answer.

The above article I linked shows exactly how the prosecutor is being a hypocrite. It's also his fault he was out on criminal cases the dad had AFTER the child abuse case. Multiple cases AFTER it.

Okay. I'll take a look. I was only going by the presser and that his office did contest this sentence.

Okay. Honestly I skimmed right past that post as it looked so long, never read a single word.

Now I have and I also went back and watched the pressure to make sure I have the counties straight and offices straight (DA's).
So it was his county that did not oppose bail nor a continuance due to a child custody case.

It doesn't appear to have been him but an assistant D.A. but still yes, that is on his office and he is the head of it.

The judge in the case said the suspended sentence would keep prison over his head to get it right, well he didn't and violated conditions. Should have been automatic prison but wasn't. Violations that are more minor compared to the bigger charge are often ignored and it bites too. Chances are this ADA never even looked back for details ate sentencing and history. Or he may have, hard to say.

But yes, it makes the DA lambasting the judge kind of a hypocrite being his own county and own office had the change to make a far bigger deal over the violations and push for prison.

Convenient the judge can't answer due to ethics but he did slip in an answer on his own behalf, that in 18 years he has never had one of his decisions questioned or made a deal of. He definitely got that in there didn't he?his
I am glad people are outraged and a lot of noise is being made but this happens ALL of the time. There are further murders on the hands of judges, CPS, DAs and others all of the time.

I hope the outrage builds and continues.

Broken promises, broken system: The life and death of baby Emmanuel Haro

In the high desert community of Cabazon, a tragedy that prosecutors say could have been prevented has shaken residents and reignited debate over how the justice system handles child abuse cases.

[snip]

The Haro case has sparked outrage not only for its brutality but for what many see as systemic failures. Critics argue that probation in 2023 signaled to Jake Haro that there were few real consequences for harming children.

“It’s not just about one violent man,” one children’s advocate said. “It’s about a system that gave him chance after chance. And a baby paid with his life.”

The investigation continues, with search teams still working to locate Emmanuel’s body. But for many, the story of the Haro family already feels like a grim reminder of the cost of leniency in child abuse cases.

“Our duty now is to make sure justice is served, and that no more children suffer at the hands of these two defendants,” Hestrin said in a statement released by his office.

Baby Emmanuel's parents plead not guilty to murder as search for 7-month-old continues

The parents of 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro pleaded not guilty Thursday to murder charges as the search for their child continues, three weeks after he was reported missing in Southern California.

Jake and Rebecca Haro entered their pleas at the Riverside Hall of Justice. They are also accused of making a false police report.

Emmanuel Haro’s dad was praised for parenting skills before infant vanished

The father of missing baby Emmanuel Haro passed a child abuse class with top marks and was even praised for his parenting skills before his 7-month-old son disappeared.

It was revealed Friday that Jake Haro was ordered to attend a child abuse program as part of a suspended sentence for a separate child abuse case in 2018, which left his then-10-month-old daughter permanently disabled.

According to The New York Post, two counselors overseeing Jake Haro praised his behavior in a report. Counselor Steven DeHay noted on July 18, 2024, that Jake Haro was “attentive, polite and appropriately interactive in class with other members and facilitators.

“He appears to have gained self-insight and awareness into his parenting style,” the report continued. “He appears to have benefited from this mandated class/program.”

DeHay gave Jake a perfect score, 7 out of 7, for attitude and in the category “child abuse.” He also received high scores in other categories, including “child welfare” and “parenting skills.”

Mirna Johnson, another counselor, said in a 2023 report that Jake Haro “reported that his discipline consists of logical and natural consequences, and he offers limited choices to teach decision making and democracy.”

“Mr. Haro shared that his children are motivated by positive reinforcement and that his limits are stable and only increase with the maturity of his children,” she wrote.

Johnson declared Jake’s likelihood of abusing a child to be “low,” per the report.

Which to me makes it even worse to me because now we all know he knew how to be a good parent, but chose not to be. :sigh:

I doubt I've ever said what I think of such classes and others too like anger management or the class they do for DUI and so on. Total joke.

Such fixes nothing and yes most attendees can pass with flying colors. Doubtful it even takes more than a third grade level brain.

Nothing they do or say in class has ANYTHING to do with what they do at home. Also the two were babies and he is talking about choices for older children.

Severe abuse of his daughter and he gets a class like this and aces it. Idiots. Big freaking deal.

I think most abusers know the right way versus the wrong way, they just don't stop themselves and knowing it from a class does not mean they implement it or he is now father of the year.

Dumbarses.

Jake Haro, father of missing baby, separated from parents as a child

Criminal defense attorney Alexandria Kazarian joined “Banfield” on Monday to discuss how Jake Haro was removed from his own parents due to drug and domestic violence issues in his family home.

“It sounds like this is a long, long time cycle of abuse that’s happening in this family. There are allegations that his grandfather was mentally ill and that his mother had addiction problems, and she left him at home, not only with his grandfather, who wasn’t fit to watch over him, but there were also domestic violence issues between his mother and his father,” Kazarian told NewsNation.

According to Kazarian, by age 13, Jake Haro was taken away from his parents, along with his sister and brother, and placed into an adoptive family.

Riverside DA: Case Remains active, details sealed in baby Haro investigation

Prosecutors say the case involving baby Emmanuel Haro remains active, but they are not releasing new details as they prepare for upcoming court hearings.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office confirmed this week its investigators are “actively involved” but emphasized their focus is on building a case for court, not for public disclosure.

The case is now moving forward in court. A felony settlement conference is scheduled for Oct. 16, followed by a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 28.

Whoa!

The father of baby Emmanuel Haro pleaded guilty to all charges in the murder case, News Channel 3 confirmed Thursday.

There is still no word on whether investigators have located the remains of seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro.

The Haros appeared in court Thursday in Riverside, where Jake Haro pleaded guilty to all charges, which include second-degree homicide, filing a false police report, and assault of a child under 8; great bodily injury resulting in death.

He is set to be sentenced on Nov. 3.

Emmanuel's mother, Rebecca Haro, did not plead guilty; the case against her will continue. She is also charged with Emmanuel's murder, along with filing a false police report and other charges.
