Got my Masters degree from here. :(

Killer who stabbed 4 Idaho students to death still at large

The killer — or killers — who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remained at large Tuesday, prompting many students to leave the campus in the idyllic small town despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.

So many students had left the scenic tree-lined campus in Moscow, Idaho, by Tuesday that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

The students, all close friends, were found dead in an off-campus rental home around noon on Sunday, and officials said they likely were killed several hours earlier. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt told the Spokane, Washington-based television station KXLY that her preliminary investigation showed the students were stabbed to death. There is no indication that substance use was involved in the deaths, Mabbutt said.

The search for the knife is good and hurts nothing and the Bundy theory is interesting but it also could went into a body of water or a dumpster, who knows.
I'
The Door Dash driver thing does not seem embellished to me, not sure why talk now when think it best all keep quiet but it would be likely she saw him. Always been said Xana was likely up, just got Door Dash, etc. We were not given this amount of detail but it fits. He may have been about to go in and here came Door Dash.

She didn't release her name, no one did. The parents investigator knew of her and not a lot has been said, just a bit. I probably would have held it but honestly not a lot has really come out over time.

This is one trial I'm daring to hope will go off on time as the judge has had no patience for delay attempts at all. He flat out told the D that if she could not get through discovery, hire a clerk and so on, she should not have taken on another capital case then. I love that, wish more were that way.

Bryan Kohberger looks set to suffer a major blow in the fight for his life after an Idaho judge said he would 'likely' deny the 11th-hour bid to delay his capital murder trial.
In one of two critical hearings held in Ada County courthouse Wednesday, Judge Steven Hippler heard arguments over the accused mass killer’s request to postpone proceedings, based on his claims that a recent Dateline episode and other publicity had thwarted his right to a fair trial.
While Hippler said he would 'take the matter under advisement' and issue a written order at a later date, he revealed his skepticism for the defense's argument.Hippler told both sides he would 'fully encourage everyone to continue as if the trial is going to take place when it is scheduled for.'
'I would tell you it's likely you're going to trial on the date indicated,' he said.
Now, following more than two years of legal wrangling, delays and the trial being moved to another county, it appears likely that Kohberger is finally heading to trial this summer.
Jury selection is currently slated for late July through to early August while opening statements will begin August 11.
Kohberger is accused of killing Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves and Madison Mogen in a stabbing rampage inside an off-campus student home in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13, 2022.

The D here has tried to use anything they can to delay, etc. and I think I said earlier I like this judge, he said flat out for instance, Taylor should haven never taken on another case if not even ready for this one. And that we need more judges like that.

I ran into the live hearing on it today but did not get to listen to much as had other things going on. However, able to pretty much guess what the judge would say. They keep trying when they should be trying to get on top of their case (the D) imo.

Also in that DM article is mention of a second closed door hearing that was about the D having an alternate suspect.

Here we go again, like the O theory in Delphi and the party theory in Read. They are all doing it now.

Good luck to that. It's a high bar and Hippler is a solid judge. Probably trying to accuse the Door Dash driver or a roommate, who knows. Whoever, yes it is just so wrong to try to do that to others with absolutely nothing to back it up.

She's desperate. I remember when she was appointed, every talking head and other attys were saying what a crackerjack lawyer she was. I haven't seen it. She tried a lot of things as they all do. And honestly sometimes a defendant doesn't leave them much to work with from their own acts and guilt and the evidence. And in many cases, and it's sickening, many a judge grants way too many delays and things to the defenses for worry about appeals. This one has not been doing that at all and yet he covers his bases when he denies such.

I'd say it's headed for trial on time short of same major stunt or issue that works. I so wish more judges would be like that.

I've not been impressed by her one bit. Then they had the alibi thing I don't think she was ever able to follow through on. Imo she has been trying to buy time when she hasn't kept up on her job on cases at all, and expected such would be granted. Just my thoughts. Very like the D in Delphi who weren't up on their sh*t from day one...

I will admit thought BK maybe didn't leave her much...

i'm not caught up on this but i'm taking it the judge likely won't delay the trial???

is there already a date set for trial to begin?
I think jury selection is end of July, I won't swear by it but pretty sure just heard it again today.

This judge from what he has shown is NOT going to delay this trial, it would take something pretty significant I'd say.

I am betting he threw it in the river.

The last lines of the article:
"Anyone interested in the search can follow Jensen’s movements in real time on the “My Tracking” app. More information can be found on Jensen’s Facebook page."

What would a person with an inflated ego think? The river sounds good, but did he stash it somewhere he could hold it and stuff whenever he wanted to?

Idaho court delays Bryan Kohberger trial by one week

The trial of Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of stabbing four University of Idaho students to death, has been delayed by one week, according to new documents.

Opening statements are now expected to begin Aug. 18 in Ada County. Jury selection will take place on Aug. 4. The trial was originally set to begin Aug. 11 with jury selection previously scheduled to begin July 30. No reason was given for the delay.

Hippler also ruled Thursday that the defense team's theory of an alternate perpetrator is irrelevant and cannot be presented during the trial. The theory centers on four other individuals who were “socially connected” to at least one of the victims; lived within walking distance to the home on King Road; or had some notable interaction with the victim(s) before the killings.

However, the defense is allowed to cross-examine law enforcement on the “reasonableness” of its investigation and law enforcement’s follow-up on other possible leads in the murder case.

I can't believe Hippler allowed a delay athough albeit it is a short one that hopefully won't affect jurors or the trial. He was not inclined to do so at all so something must have happened.

The families don't want delays and it took a lot of time, effort and money to be ready for this trial imo and the D has tried for a delay countless times.

So there must be a reason...
