Deputies seek 15-year-old missing since last week

Calhoun County deputies are looking for a 15-year-old who went missing north of Battle Creek last week.

Glenn Lee Brown, 15, was last seen Wednesday leaving Pennfield High School and walking into the woods nearby. No one has seen him since then, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said, and he had not contacted anyone as of Monday. He is not believed to have a cellphone, deputies say.

Deputies say they went looking for Brown in the woods near the school and put up a drone, but found nothing.

Authorities are asking for help locating a 15-year-old last seen leaving a Battle Creek high school on Thursday, May 7.

Glenn Lee Brown, 15, was last seen walking into a wooded area behind Pennfield High School, according to Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies.

An extensive search, which included the use of drones, has been done in the area.

As of Monday, May 12, Glenn has not made contact with family or friends and does not have a cellphone in his possession, deputies said.

Deputies ask homeowners to look for missing teen

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking homeowners to check their properties for a 15-year-old who went missing in Pennfield Township a week ago.

Glenn Brown was last seen May 7 walking into the woods behind Pennfield High School. He is a white male, with blond hair and blue eyes. He is approximately 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds.

While deputies said in a Wednesday release that Glenn is “known to be resourceful in the outdoors,” he has now been gone long enough that he is “pushing the limits of what anyone could realistically endure on their own.”

The sheriff’s office is asking landowners to continue to check their property carefully and to be aware that Glenn may be trying to avoid being seen.

Deputies say they plan on holding more searches with volunteers and that they still need to search a lot of nearby areas that are private property. They say they are working to respect the wishes of landowners while continuing their search.

Two searches were held outside of Pennfield High School Tuesday, with volunteers searching the woods and around the area. Deputies added that they searched a number of tips Tuesday asking for searches of outbuildings, but “none of those searches led to any new information.”

Sheriff: Missing teen may be traveling north along M-66

The search for a missing 15-year-old boy is continuing with "significant efforts from multiple agencies," the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Thursday, May 15.

Glenn Lee Brown was last seen leaving Pennfield High School May 7, the sheriff's office said in a May 12 news release.

"The search for Glenn Lee Brown continues with significant efforts from multiple agencies. "Yesterday, May 14, search operations included thermal imaging drones, ground searches with K9 teams, and aerial support from the Michigan State Police helicopter," the sheriff's office said Thursday.

"We are also communicating with surrounding law enforcement agencies, as it is possible that Glenn may be traveling north along M-66."

Searches will continue today with officers on foot, police dogs, drone surveillance and interviews with witnesses to verify any new tips.

"We want to remind the public that Glenn is not considered dangerous, but we are growing increasingly concerned for his well-being due to the length of time he has been missing and the potential for incoming severe weather," the sheriff's office said in the news release.

"We urge residents along M-66 from Pennfield through Barry County to check trail cameras, outbuildings, campers, and any other possible shelter locations on their property. Property owners are being contacted directly for permission to conduct searches where appropriate."

The department is asking the public not to organize independent search parties that can interfere with official efforts and cause confusion.

"If you see Glenn, do not approach or chase him, as he may run. Instead, call 911 immediately and report the sighting with as much detail as possible. We continue to utilize every available resource and remain committed to bringing Glenn home," the sheriff's office said.

So he disappears into the woods near school yet ends up in Chicago?? Hmm.

Sounds a lot like Yoblonski I'd agree. Although no clue what really happened there yet.
