THIS JUST IN ~ CURRENT CRIME STORIES #2 (4 Viewers)

Homicide investigation. 18 month old twins.

I tell myself or try to, not to look at child cases at times, it is how I get sucked in and then the case turns into something really awful--but on the other hand, I also know they need attention and Asshould not be ignored because hard.

Not a lot of info here, I did read it and who knows what will come of it. I did read the link, think I read it all anyhow. Toddlers too, and twins. I'll probably end up sucked in. Because now I'm curious, and care, and that is how it always starts, sometimes I end up regretting it.

Just realized too it's East Idaho News, or noticed.

Woman who held Elizabeth Smart captive for months is arrested after visiting park
The woman who kidnapped and held Elizabeth Smart captive for nine months in the early 2000s was arrested in Utah this week after visiting at least two parks, which she can't do because of her status as a sex offender.

Wanda Barzee, 79, was arrested at her Salt Lake City home Thursday and was booked on one count of violating her status as a sex offender in Utah, a spokesperson for the Salt Lake City Police Department said Friday.

Okay no way I can leave this one alone.

First of all released on judicial orders???

Second of all this woman should have been in prison for life.

And I suppose some out there (haven't seen this so don't know) if it even hits anything will feel sorry for a 79 year old woman. HOPEFULLY NOT.

How much more bizarre can this world get? And WRONG?

No one needs to say maybe dementia or something and I guess that dementia just sends her to parks that she has know for years to not go to but not like she got lost or anyhing.... Just parks.

And again judicial orders freed her... Gee, why?

And I guess I mean news in their first rush could have something wrong so I shouldn't assume, and her D may be she has some issue or didn't realize who the heck knows.

I'm just giving my first angered thoughts at this and not towards a soul but towards this news. She may be 79 for instance but she is an SO and she did nothing to save anyone either.

I will say however, back when that happened I was much younger, and opinions change over years of life if open to learning. I'm not talking about this case some much as another religious thing, and I'll leave that there. Utah.

Hindsight is a funny thing and just adding a simple fact, we see more cases and things as life goes on. There was no Daybell when I was younger for instance, just for example. Just for example....

And that's' a single out of many examples...

I haven't really looked back on the Smart case in years but just realizing how much I've seen since then. It is one I recall pretty darned well. She was found safe, it was a famous case, But it sure was not thanks to THIS woman. I think Ellizabeth works for Lifetime now doesn't she?

Her dad was looked at fairly hard, as most parents are in such cases but he was noted for facing it and being willing so they could move on. She was taken from home, not a REALLY common thing, not unheard of but does happen on occasion imo.

I recall pretty much all of it.

Anyhow, this woman belongs in prison and I hope they SEND her there.

Wandered a bit there but was just thinking on how long ago this was and all the cases seen since and such that what was going to be not a long remark I decided it needed some reflection. I mean from me, on all since then and such. Not from all, I just felt I should think back on it a bit. I do a lot of hindsight lately for one.

Still though overall opinion same on her as where I started. SOs in general should never be out of prison DEPENDING on the crime and level and age imo. Not saying someone could not make a youthful very wrong choice and learn but that isn't what this was at all.

It's jmo. I could go sideways on many a thing but will leave it there.

Surprising news actually, was surprised to see who and what it was about.

Actually read ALL comments maybe. OMG. NO ONE believes him innocent, nor do I. Except for I guess the LA Innocence Project.

Whether you watch or don't even, read the first maybe 20 comments under this and Nancy's own remarks under it in the box.

His baby proves he's innocent.

Well that Innocence Project sure wants to help him.

Yah. I gave up reading underneath, I read so many and we all agree on him, that's for sure, I guess they want to just destroy selves but It's Cali too.

They are challenging the verdict because evidence was left out. If he's re-tried he'll be convicted. Their point is that possible exculpatory evidence was withheld from the jury.

They will fight for any defendant this is done to. That's it.

I dunno how I feel about reopening Alcatraz as a prison. I really enjoyed touring it. It's just isolated and eerie.

We have plenty of Supermax prisons now. It isn't like people are escaping on a regular basis.

Personally, I'd rather it be maintained for tourism. Most of us don't get the opportunity to tour a prison. It's a historical novelty.

Sorry but I disagree with you. And we don't have to agree of course. Sure they find some thing to hang it on of course--and of course, all should get a fair shake. However it isn't all there is to it as to their reasons. Imo anyhow. Not entirely altruistic imo and jmo. No one has to share it.

Well kind of similar actually. Although I do think some of the worst of the worst should be imprisoned somewhere very hard to ever get out of...

Never toured it so I can't really comment on that without knowledge and I try at least not to do that.

Lots of people I believe don't know that these days there's a lot of money and profit in some prisons. Got into that conversation awhile back, and they are like a private enterprise some of them.

I'd tend or lean towards agreeing with you on the tourism aspect/historical aspect.
