Tanner Hoang, 22, was last seen by his roommates on Friday, December 16, around 11 a.m. He
may have left the area in a silver 2009 Lexus ES350 with Texas plates BS2C737.

His family has shared on social media that they were in town to attend a graduation ceremony on Friday and he went missing before meeting with them for lunch. His father sent him a text around 8:30 a.m. and it was read before Tanner’s phone was turned off. His family says Tanner’s debit card was used around noon on Friday at a gas station in Caldwell.

The family has shared that they came to College Station expecting to see Tanner graduate, but after he went missing they learned he had fallen short of graduation requirements and they confirmed with the university that he was not part of Friday’s commencement ceremonies.

Hoang and his family are from Flower Mound near Dallas and updates are being shared on a Facebook group page called “Finding Tanner Hoang.”

I really hope they will find this young man soon. Hoping that he just needs some time off to build up strength for facing the music .
Keeping him and his family in my thoughts, what a terrible time for everybody...😐

The Texas Department of Public Safety says Texas A&M University student Tanner Hoang is still missing as of Monday night, December 19, but believe his car may have been spotted an hour west of College Station. Law enforcement said on Tuesday, December 20, that there was a possible sighting of Hoang's car in Bastrop, according to Bryan station KBTX.

Over 100 Hours: Search for Tanner Hoang continues

As the search for Texas A&M student, Tanner Hoang, passes the 100-hour mark since he's been reported missing, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed to KAGS that it is stepping in to try and help locate the 22-year-old.

As of Tuesday, the most definitive video discovered is video of Hoang's car having fled the Caldwell area on Friday just after 12 p.m.

The video was later shared with Hoang's family who have actively searched for the 22-year-old in potential towns he may have stopped in along his drive.

Fleeger said that Hoang could have traveled westbound toward the Bastrop area on Friday and could have traveled along I-35, which could make the investigation much more complicated.

"The video of the vehicle westbound that would indicate he was traveling to Bastrop, San Marcos, you hit I-35 and you could hit any number of places," said Fleeger.

‘He could be anywhere:’ Search continues for missing Flower Mound man

Law enforcement, family, friends and people around the state continue to search for Tanner Hoang, a 22-year-old Texas A&M student from Flower Mound who hasn’t been seen in almost a week.

The latest reported development in the search, as of Thursday afternoon, is that surveillance cameras spotted Hoang’s car just before 1 p.m. in the town of Elgin, near Austin, KBTX reported. About an hour earlier, his car was seen leaving a gas station in Caldwell, a small town between College Station and Elgin.

“Given the fact that he was in a vehicle with a full tank of gas, and it has been since Friday,” Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley Chuck Fleeger told FOX 7 Austin. “Realistically, he could be he could be anywhere.”

So was he seen in person at the gas station or only his car?

Oh dear....I'm afraid he's not wanting to see his family's disappointment that he didn't pass his classes.
That's what I think too. I know he didn't want to disappoint them. But to find out this way and the traveling makes it worse. I hope he just took off for awhile. Which I have hope he did. I hope he wasn't suicidal because he knew he couldn't get out of this lie. And all his parents want is him back. Come back Tanner.

Apologies the updates have been less frequent today. There has been a lot of activity and coordination going on. We have been given approval to let you know that Tanner’s vehicle was found near the hiking trail leading to the Pennybacker Bridge Overlook at Hwy 360 and the Colorado River. DPS and APD searched the general area with negative results yesterday. Austin PD towed the vehicle and held it for processing. It has now been released to Tanner’s family.

**Update at 10:30am on 12/24:
It’s Christmas Eve and this community has come together to help find Tanner in ways we could never imagine. We are all overwhelmed with your support and can’t thank you enough!

Today we expect to have 3 drones, a couple of boats, and a number of hikers/walkers on foot. Tanner’s intact wallet, including the debit card used to buy fuel in Caldwell, was found in his vehicle when it was searched; however, we are still looking for his keys and his iPhone. So please keep this in mind as you are searching. If you are on foot, this terrain is treacherous and even more dangerous in freezing temps. Please don’t take any unnecessary risks. We want everyone to be safe! If anything is found while searching, please leave it where it is and call 911 immediately. Thank you so much for all you are doing for Tanner and his family.
