ONGOING CRIME BREAKING NEWS!

Starting in January 2020, this thread is about the news as it breaks!

Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

IMO- stay in jail

If you're a criminal in your country. You move here. Thank you for bringing your criminal behavior here. That's great. Please stay a piece of :poop: in your home country. And don't come here if you meet this criteria.Thank you.
Oh never fear, someone will hand over a driver's license and a place to live and far more...

Missing Houston Boy, 7, Found Dead Inside Family's Washing Machine

A 7-year-old boy reported missing in the Houston area was found deceased inside the family's washing machine on Thursday morning.

KPRC-TV in Houston reported constables responded to a call about a missing boy in Spring at about 5:20 a.m. and that after arriving at the family's home learned from his parents that they noticed he was missing at about 4 a.m.

Authorities searched the home and about two hours later discovered the child's body inside a top-loader washer in the garage.

“Whether he was killed by the washing machine or killed and placed in it, we’re just so far from that, I can’t comment,” Lt. Robert Minchew, with the Harris County Sheriff’s office homicide unit, told KHOU.

Minchew told KPRC that the boy’s parents were questioned, which is standard procedure. Minchew told the station that Troy was a foster child in the home previously and was adopted in 2019. No other children live in the home.

WHAT??!!!!

My first thought was did someone set something extremely heavy on the lid A case of pop, a 50 pound bag of dog food, etc.? My second thought was my mon has a newer machine where the lid locks unless you cancel the load/start, at least from the outside, not sure of inside, who would think of needing to get out from inside for goodness sakes?

My thought at this moment quickly after those thoughts is no way is this NOT foul play/a crime. He is seven and if even close to a normal or even shorter height/size, I just can't see it. And you don't start a machine without putting in clothes and detergent. And it doesn't seem to be a game of hide and seek with another child as he was the only child in the home nor then of horseplay of two children... On the other hand, are the parents so dumb they called him in missing while expecting him to go unfound in the washer on a search OR thought investigators would believe such a scenario was an accident if they did find him?

This defies anything I can think of that makes sense where it would be accidental....
