Missing Texas woman seen leaving San Antonio house in a rush

Video from a doorbell camera shows missing San Antonio woman Christina Powell leaving her home in a rush on the morning of July 5, and she hasn't been seen since. Powell's mother, Claudia Mobley, told Fox News that her daughter said she was running late for work, but she still though it was strange that Powell left in such a hurry.

The video shows Powell quickly walking out her front door wearing black pants and a black long sleeve t-shirt toward the driveway. She left behind her phone and her Apple Watch, her family said.

Powell reportedly called the office where she works as a paralegal telling them she would be late, but she never showed to work. A co-worker showed up at her Apple Creek home hours later. Powell's 12-year-old son answered the door and told the co-worker that his mom was at work.

Of note is it also says she left behind her medication. I take that to mean she needed medication with for just a work day? Or do they mean if she was taking off for days she would take it with her?

I asked this question earlier and she who explained to me that it seems to be pinging in the house but they can’t find it.
Strange. I can see where maybe LE hasn't or won't or can't tear things apart searching but I'd think her family could perhaps or son, etc. However, she is missing so couldn't LE get cause?

I'm sure they could. But it's probably not "worth it", tbh. If the watch was working, it would be syncing with her phone and probably the cloud. Anything on it is probably already available to them.
Also, it may not be that easy. I once lost my watch in my own tiny apartment for 3 days. I knew it was there. It was pinging there. I just couldn't find it. It ended up being inside a shoe...
Also, they may have located it by now and just not publicized that info. This was early reporting.

That all makes sense. I guess the the only thing it might tell is if it is somewhere odd but if the phone was in plain sight, the watch not being easily found wouldn't mean much I guess if all was synced. I don't keep my things synced for the most part so I guess I forget if they have one they have all.

A missing San Antonio woman was found dead Saturday in her vehicle parked in a Medical Center shopping plaza, San Antonio police said.

<snip>After a security guard reported a suspicious 2020 Nissan Rouge that had been in the parking lot for a week, officers responded to the Huebner Oaks Center, located in the 11700 block of Interstate 10 W, just before 7 p.m.

According to police, the security guard said there was a foul odor coming from the car when he approached the vehicle and called 911 when he saw the body.

Police said they found Powell's identification inside the car. Officials said there was no apparent trauma to the body.

found in the passenger seat...hmmmmm.

overdose???

20 days. Passenger seat. Foul odor would seem to fit with the days but in TX there could be a foul odor in days too I imagine. Does this mean the windows or one were open? Still reading but I wonder if this was the route to work or nowhere near the right direction. Also not sure what a medical center shopping plaza is but I guess maybe news is just pointing out she may be there for either reason (medical or shopping) or for no reason... Very sorry for her and her boys and her mom and all other family affected.

in this heat, a foul odor could happen within a day and only a couple probably to be able to notice from a car.

Found a very stinky deal mole in the yard last week that I am 100% sure it was not there the day prior because of where it was.

They say about two weeks but it would have been a bit plus. Toda is closer to three but I guess she was found two days ago. Hoping of course there are cameras as it would show how long the car has been there/if she came in alone, etc.

It wouldn't be comfortable I woudln't think sitting in a passenger seat in a San Antonio parking lot without the car running and air on. I guess though IF she did OD you might just sit there knowing it wouldn't be long. Did no one notice her prior or the day of I wonder, was she parked in an out of the way spot...?

I am also interested in knowing where this is compared to her house and work.

That was my first thought. :(

It was not immediately clear if any medication or writings were recovered at the scene.
Okay, I see that article says windows were closed. It also says it had been there about a week so where was it the rest of the time and why was she in the passenger seat.

Something could have carried it in (cat?) but I get your point, it doesn't take long in heat to smell. This one is going to still need some answers imo. Maybe the family knows but I hope to hear more as well.

I sure hope she hadn't just gotten some prescription at the medical center she just downed the bottle of. I don't have any reason to think that but between her being in the passenger seat, etc., I am wondering many things.

IF suicide which I have no reason to be sold on other than they say no obvious signs of trauma to the body etc., yes I'd like to know about the route AND what was so bad unless of course an accidental OD. I guess you could have a hot car death IF she passed out but pretty unheard of other than with children.

She had a new job and I am noting a 2020 vehicle , IF hers, would seem to indicate finances weren't an issue. A new job should be a happy thing and apparently she impressed, unless she felt oversleeping was dire for a new job OR felt they were upset with her. Doesn't seem like much of a reason for suicide.

However, family remarking that it was a bad anniversary for her of when her son was taken (yet she was with the son's father) seems it would be the biggest factor or notable to family she was unhappy about this one year "anniversary" date. Did she feel like she couldn't have her child back without taking the father back as well...?

I don't know. We don't know enough. I shouldn't even speculate that. I do know there is no reason at this point for at least us to rule out foul play either. Not enough info at all.

My question then would be if the car was out of gas. It was running when she died and eventually ran out.

Guessing they're waiting on toxicology.

Texas mom Christina Lee Powell's autopsy conducted Monday, is 'pending' further studies: ME's office

A Texas medical examiner has performed the initial autopsy on missing Texas mom Christina Lee Powell, whose body was discovered in the passenger seat of her car earlier this week, Fox News Digital has learned.

A spokesperson for the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that personnel performed the autopsy on Monday.

But the cause and manner of the 39-year-old woman’s death were not immediately available, as the results are "pending further tests and studies," a spokesperson for the office said when reached by phone on Tuesday. The spokesperson could not say what specific additional testing was needed.

The mall complex is located approximately four miles away – a 10-minutes drive – from her Red Hill Place home.
