Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

A jury convicted Jacob Blair Scott of Moss Point, Mississippi, on Thursday. Jackson County Circuit Judge Kathy King Jackson sentenced him to 85 years in prison, saying it is essentially a life sentence. She also ordered him to pay $10,000 in fines.

The bodies believed to be of a missing Texas couple have been found in a wooded area nearly two weeks after they disappeared,​

Two men riding 4-wheelers had discovered the remains after coming across a 2002 blue BMW 30C Convertible that one of them had originally spotted about two weeks ago and believed was abandoned, When the men went to check the car, they reportedly found a shotgun behind the vehicle and the body of a male in a nearby ditch.

The vehicle was linked to two active missing persons cases: Megan Madison Leach, 19, and Manuel Alejandro Fuentes, 20

When investigators opened the trunk of the car, police said they found the body of a deceased female.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the deaths were under investigation.

When Leach and Fuentes were first reported missing, police said it was believed that Leach may be a victim of human trafficking, but no further details were given.

But here about that escaped inmate of really bad news in Texas, I had been following and they weren't doing anything or getting him and now I see this when I hadn't seen much about it in the past couple of days!! Unbelievable. This is the one that SOMEHOW got a hold of a prison bus, etc. and through the caged area to the driver, etc., etc. A family dead!! I sure never heard or saw this until just now here. Heads need to roll!! This man is BAD news!! Last I knew they were just waiting for him to "come" out and then decided finally that maybe he wasn't in that area... Bunch of B.S.!

A child dubbed "Baby Holly" after going missing in the 1980s when her parents were apparently murdered in Texas has been found alive more than 40 years later, officials said Thursday.

Cold case group Identifiers International located Holly Marie Clouse, now 42, "alive and well" just months after using genetic genealogy to positively identify her parents, murder victims Tina Gail Linn Clouse and Harold Dean Clouse Jr.

"Baby Holly has been located alive and well and is now 42 years of age," Paxton’s office said in a press release. "Holly has been notified of the identities of her biological parents and has been in contact with her extended biological family and they hope to meet in person soon."

Tina Gail Linn Clouse and Harold Dean Clouse Jr., who were originally from Florida, were discovered apparently murdered and left in a wooded part of Houston, Texas, in the early 80s,

Holly – an infant at the time – was nowhere to be found and was classified as missing for decades, while Tina's and Dean’s remains were unidentified until 2021. All the while, loved ones continued searching for answers surrounding the whereabouts of the trio, whom they had not heard from since 1980, Paxton’s office said.

On Thursday, Webster revealed baby Holly "was left in a church in Arizona and was taken into their care."
He described how a pair of women "who identified themselves as members of a nomadic religious group" brought Holly to the church.
