FL CASSIE CARLI: Missing from Navarre Beach, FL - 27 March 2022 - Age 37 *Found Deceased*

FB_IMG_1648575784818.jpg

Investigators from multiple counties are looking into a missing persons case involving a Navarre woman, Cassi Carli, and her daughter, Saylor. Carli’s father reported them missing yesterday after they failed to show up as expected Sunday evening for a child custody exchange at Juana’s Pagodas. Sources close to the family say Carli’s car was located at Navarre Beach Boat Ramp, where investigators were on scene earlier this morning. Any information should be reported to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Department via 850-983-1190.

A comment in the YouTube video section says that Marcus was ordered to pay back child support in the amount of $6000. That may have been a catalyst if it’s true.

Another person wrote that they thought her Purse was left in the car because she had gotten out to grab sailor real quick. Sounds plausible. She might have had the cell phone in her back pocket, which I often do myself.

I wonder how much Saylor saw? How much she can describe to authorities?

I wondered if CPS has any info from the child... I am praying and hoping though he didn't bring her with for the "exchange"... Maybe he tried to get her to go with him by saying Saylor was at home or sick... Hard to say but he likely snatched her, grabbed her, etc. or she disagreed if so, as her purse was still there...

I heard the same thing about a very recent order on back child support and I believe I saw it in comments and heard it on a video so it is probably fact. I wonder if they were about to garnish his pay OR if a warrant was issued or would be issued next...

I think even if she wasn't going to grab Saylor quickly that leaving her purse in the car wouldn't be unusual if just standing there talking... Or walking to the other vehicle, etc... He probably pulled right up next to her or near... If I'm outside somewhere where no one else is around and just get out of my car on a nice day to talk to someone for a few minutes in a driveway, in a grocery store parking lot, etc., I'll leave my purse in the car if I stay by my car can see it and see if anyone approaches, you are RIGHT THERE... She may have had her cell phone to be "safe" or if he wasn't there yet, got out of the car to stretch and text or call him even... On the flip side, he could have taken her cell phone out of the car and/or left her purse after taking Cassie or doing something to her... It seems he used it to send fake texts (pretending to be her)...

Finally, there is one thing I noticed that hasn't been touched on too much... She was done with this man and he was apparently nasty to her but I wonder if she was still in a phase of falling for any of his sh*t at all... Most say she would never go anywhere with him but it seems her father did believe or think it possible with the text that she was staying the night at his house as he responded to it... She also DID let him change meeting places... This isn't a criticism, I'm just saying it seems possible she still may have been somewhat trusting or hoping it could be civil between them or he'd straighten out... For the sake of Saylor if nothing else...

I think "if only" she didn't meet him there but if this man was bent on doing this, he'd have made it work there or somewhere... And I think he was bent on it and planning it and that's why the meeting place was changed...

All just my thoughts/opinion.

I don't know how much Marcus was ordered to pay in child support, but he was definitely feeling the pain of the child support order. Supposedly, his DL was suspended for failure to pay. That's about all FL does for delinquent parents.

It was clearly an issue then wasn't it... I've seen many fathers fight for custody to not pay child support and not truly because they want the child although that and hurting the mother or controlling her seems to often be part of it... I have often wondered why they naively believe raising a child is cheaper than paying child support... The fact is if you are not a couple that stays together and a dual income/same debt family, it costs both because now there are two households that have to be for food, power, rent/mortgage, etc.

*Note: Some mothers probably do it too but I've seen it with many men and then some of these worse ones KILL to solve that very problem...

Just an observations but he may well have been such a type it seems to me... Jmo.

Just finished reading this. This is very good coverage, a very complete timeline and shows the texts, etc. and they link to go into read them, etc. Thanks for posting!

Even though he was in AL with Saylor, i wonder if they have obtained a warrant to search his FL home, vehicle, trailer, etc...

I guess he could have killed her if dark right at Navarre or she could be in the ocean but it seems far more likely he took her... Somewhere...

Coming up in about 40 minutes.

Cassie Carli case: Body of missing Florida mother found in shallow grave in Alabama barn

The body of missing Florida woman Cassie Carli was found this weekend in Alabama.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson on Sunday said Carli’s body was found Saturday in a shallow grave. The sheriff did not say where the body was found but named the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and the Springville Police Department as assisting in the search.

He said the body was identified by a tattoo and said an autopsy will be performed in Huntsville.

Johnson said a search warrant was carried out at the undisclosed location. The property is linked, the sheriff said, to Carli’s ex-boyfriend Marcus Spanevelo, who has been living and working in the Birmingham area in recent months.

Gol darn it!! Just seeing this, haven't read it or listened to it yet. Not that I had much hope she was alive but didn't know they had found her until this second. Didn't see a notification, I actually just encountered the news on YT and then came here to see if it was posted.

I'm almost guessing once the warrant or search was evident, the took off and that's why he was arrested in TN...? Kind of like Chad Daybell, he wasn't under arrest when they were searching his property but as they found something, he tried to drive off and then he was arrested...

Just a guess, I still need to listen to the PC.

I'd like to see more LE say things like this:

“I think either he’s going to spend the rest of his life in prison or he’s going to get the needle,’' Johnson said. “Hopefully the needle.”

I HOPE SO TOO. There go all his lies... He may not be talking nor has he cooperated with LE BUT he did tie himself into some statements by texts to family members, etc. that now don't hold water for any defense... He has to change his story to have ANY defense. Her body didn't magically get to AL where he was nor into a property he has some connection to...

So they found her yesterday... The same thing happened in the recent Naomi Irion case, LE managed to keep the finding of a body quiet for a day or some such... I'm impressed, that's not easy these days. Generally a large LE presence anywhere often ends up reported on the internet, etc...

Listened to the PC now. I have to say hats off to Santa Rosa LE. It was noticeable I think right out of the gate on this one... I get the impression too they had tails or a warrant and tracker or something on him or as he said surveillance... I can only guess they saw him or knew he crossed into TN and they quickly involved TN LE... And the other helping agencies both federal and state, etc. just WOW. The outcome wasn't what anyone would want but a quick arrest etc. That officer could have called him a dirtbag 20 more times, I loved that he did two or three and mentioned the needle.

Not that the facts were the same and maybe some slack can be cut but comparing this one to Petito and Laundrie getting away well... And both cases are Florida... I mean it may have been a bit more difficult but if they maybe could have moved faster to get a warrant on Brian for the debit card or something at least before he took off... It wouldn't have saved Gabby but it might have had the offender alive doing life in prison or also getting the "needle"...

This man here may think he is smart not cooperating with LE but he made the very statements by text to family, etc. I think that proved to be lies for one of the first charges against him. I have no doubt a murder charge is coming quickly and also they are advising the autopsy should be in tomorrow and is being done in AL and charges will likely result... This is sharing just enough and keeping the public apprised and it seems a great combination of various agencies working together and quickly.

I criticize often enough with news and at times LE but I also try to point out when they do and have done all they can and quickly and they did it here I think.

LE in the two recent Australia cases really impressed me as well. Getting rapid info on tech etc. And more.

I think one of the most important takeaways from this to tell our adult daughters, teens and others is what he said towards the end of the PC.

I'm paraphrasing but: Meet in a public lot but they are meaning in broad daylight, midday, 3 or 4 p.m. etc. when it is BUSY with lots of people. If not or someone parks far away or on the far side, etc., etc., or in a more secluded area, not ideal...

Not every business is busy, bright, etc. nor is the time of day. This is in absolutely no way a criticism but relaying in my own words what he is saying to save others...

I'm sure her thought process was maybe thinking with their child with, he would never do anything, etc., or just in getting her child from someone who probably wasn't easy to deal with or she wouldn't have been able to get her child except on his terms, etc. and just wanting to get her back with her... There are men there is no dealing with and no courtroom will change that in family court it seems and outside the courtroom they do as they please... I think that is something that truly needs to be understood...

There have been tons and tons of cases but some of these recent ones are getting some bigger attention, major quick action by LE and focus on some things and focus on the problems too in the system or lack of quick action rom Petito to this one and a few others. It also makes me really sad for the ones that haven't had the same attention and there are so very many... From domestic violence to warning signs and more, it has always been around but there is some real attention on it recently and I really hope people that can keep it front and center on it and the need for changes maybe in the system...?

Just thoughts.

It’s very rare in a case like this where we haven’t heard that the victim said prior that if anything happens to me it’s…….. <~~~~~~ (fill in the blank) and the perp isn’t the one named. In fact, I can’t think of one case where the victim named the perp before they were murdered and it was wrong. Can anyone else?

If we ever hear that from any of our loved ones, make sure that loved one is never alone with the person they’re talking about.

I’m very sad about Cassie. I hope the perp never sees the light of day outside of prison.

I can't agree more nor think of one either.

So LE said the perp is connected to where Cassie was found in a "roundabout" way. I'd guess that means the place belongs to a girlfriend, family members or perhaps a friend.

I also get the impression that Saylor may be with family of his but that they have no adequate reason to take her from whoever that may be at this time and that she is "safe" they feel for all intents and purposes. It may be a stretch but I wonder if it is possible whoever does have her cooperated and didn't know the mother was missing/he did something to her...

I hope and pray her family ends up with the child; that's not what has happened in the Maya Millette case.
