Search is ongoing for missing 7-year-old girl in Hardin County​

The investigation continues Thursday night in Hardin County after a 7-year-old girl goes missing.

Kenton Police say 7-year-old Trinity Hurt of Kenton was reported missing Thursday morning, from her residence in the 600 block of South Leighton Street. She was last seen around 7:30 Wednesday night, wearing pink and purple pajamas at the time. She is described as weighing about 60 pounds and about 4 and a half feet tall.

Multiple agencies, from the local, state, and federal level, plus civilian volunteers were searching for the girl during the day, but that search has been scaled back until Friday morning when they plan to resume. Meanwhile, search dogs were brought in earlier Thursday evening, and detectives continue to talk with those involved. Anyone with information is asked to call Kenton Police at 419-673-0771.

From above, I don't like this, I hope it's just media and the way it is reported and stringing information together but it gives me a sense something is up... Why would you scale back at all this early on when time is of the essence... This child is just 7 and in pajamas...:

The City of Kenton is organizing a community-wide search for a 7-year-old girl who disappeared from her home overnight.

Multiple law enforcement at the local, state, and federal level are assisting in the search.

The City of Kenton announced that France Lake and Saulisberry Park would be closed until further notice.

A community-wide search will be held at France lake on Nov. 13 starting at 9 a.m. They will meet at the France Lake Office located off State Route 67 West.

A Kenton man has been charged with kidnapping.

The charge was filed against Charles Castle in Hardin County Municipal Court.


Chief Musser told WKTN this (Friday) evening that Castle has been transported to Multi County Jail in Marion.

He is scheduled to be in Municipal Court Monday afternoon.

Chief Musser said they are continuing to work leads as they attempt to locate Trinity.

A community-wide search team has been planned. They will gather at 9 Saturday morning at France Lake.

One article says the child was found near the home and the other said in the home and both remarks were attributed to the sheriff. I just wonder if she escaped possibly and the landowner saw a child he thought shouldn't be there. Not that it matters, she is alive!
