So jury selection has begun. The trial should start maybe next week, or even this week if the jury gets selected quickly.

This is from the link above -

"His defense team includes Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos. They represented NXIVM founder Keith Raniere who was convicted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, the same charges Combs faces.

The defense team also includes Brian Steel, who represented rapper Young Thug at a racketeering trial in Atlanta, and Alexandra Shapiro, a leading appellate litigator who also represents Sam Bankman-Fried.
The all-female prosecution team includes Maureen Comey, who successfully prosecuted Ghislaine Maxwell for sex trafficking, and Emily Johnson, Mitzi Steiner and Madison Smyser, who have prosecuted violent crime, and gang prosecutor Christy Slavik."

This is a BBC updating link. Doesn't look like cameras will be in the courtroom as all i am seeing is artist renditions.

Summary

  • Jury selection for musician Sean 'Diddy' Combs' sex-trafficking trial has begun in New York
  • Potential jurors are being asked if they have any history with sexual assault, or other trauma, and if they could be impartial in the trial
  • Inside the courtroom, Combs sits with his extensive legal team and watches as jurors are brought in one by one to answer questions
  • The hip hop mogul faces charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, with allegations that he coerced women into prolonged sexual orgies he called "freak-offs"
  • He has denied all the charges against him and has rejected a plea deal
  • If he is found guilty, Combs could spend the rest of his life in prison
  • Catch up on this story with a timeline of the charges against Diddy

Here's another updating link of the jury selection. DM this time. Sounds like they have got 10 jurors already. None of them recognised him in court apparently.

Here's a third updating link. Probably enough now to be able to follow. The judge says he wants a pool of 45 jurors. At the end of yesterday he had 19 in the pool. So should be closer after today. Trial will not be live streamed.

ugh we have to cover the old fashioned way? So a you tuber or member of media cannot live stream in the court room? ugh so i assume no press inside?? I know this is new york but this is federal court tho...... remember luigi mangionie or however you spell it also is NY and federal

NY doesn't do it. They didn't do it with President Trump either if you remember. Just old fashioned court reporters. Tweeting probably is allowed.

I read that one of the witnesses has backed out. Can't remember where i read it now.

ETA Found it. It is in the ABC7 link two posts up.

"The judge has said he wants a pool of 45 perspectives jurors before the lawyers begin selecting who they do or do not want to serve on this panel.
Before the court adjourned on Monday, prosecutors revealed that one of the three anonymous witnesses expected to testify may not show up despite receiving a subpoena.
Prosecutors say the woman's attorney has been going through some issues and has been difficult to communicate with."

I didn’t think it would be streamed. Famous people probably don’t want their faces shown on this trial at all, whether they knew what was going on or not.
