Circumstances of Disappearance​

Zizzamia was last seen leaving his parents' home in Cherry Hill, NJ on May 12, 1979. He said he was going to pick up his graduation tickets from Villanova University in Villanova, PA for his upcoming graduation ceremony which was to occur on May 14, 1979. Nicholas was driving his father's car, a 1976 Pontiac Bonneville, license #210-IUG. While his parents attended the graduation ceremony, he failed to show up.

His father's car was found parked and locked behind his father's business in Cherry Hill on May 15, 1979. Nothing suspicious was found in the vehicle.

Zizzamia was an only child whom friends and family described as shy, kindhearted, and lonely. "He was an unhappy young man," his paternal aunt recalls. He had told a friend years before he went missing that he intended to disappear. He said that he had figured out a way to kill himself that wouldn't be painful and said no one will ever find him.

His parents hired a private detective in hopes of finding him. His mother died in 2003 and his father died in 2012.
