PORTLAND, Ore. - Authorities are actively searching for Katelyn Mulder, a 35-year-old Eugene resident. She was last seen in Washington County on Sept. 17.

Mulder's vehicle was discovered being driven by an unknown female, who was later arrested following a high-speed chase in Pierce County, Wash. The woman falsely claimed to be Mulder. Additionally, Mulder's dog was found tied to a fence in Washington and had passed away.

Mulder is approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds, and has dyed black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is urged to contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 503-846-5900.

What I heard on the local news this AM was that the woman who was driving Katelyn's car is still not identified. And I'd like to know exactly where the dog was located? Why didn't any people in the area notice the dog was in distress?

Another tidbit, Katelyn was from the Eugene area, but had been living in Beaverton. The two areas are about a two hour drive from each other. The car with the unidentified woman in it was located in the state of Washington, not to be confused with the Oregon county from which Katelyn went missing.

Was it in a populated area or way out in the boonies or somewhere where there is not a lot of people passing to notice?

Sounds like her dog was also found in Pierce County, WA.
Would be interested in where exactly in Pierce County for the dog and the car chase. Using the county name instead of saying Tacoma makes me think it was more rural.

I don't know! And it says the dog was found in "Washington". Was that the Oregon county, or the state of Washington? I'm not even sure.
I'm even more po'd at her if she didn't chain the dog somewhere public, at least where it had a chance. Something tells me it was more rural(ish) so she wouldn't be seen tying the dog up and/or be seen with the car or even possibly a body at that time.

I saw this the other day and forgot to come in here and update! THAILAND? What in the world.
Did she go to Thailand before or after the other woman ended up arrested in her car? Before or after the dog?

(And yes, her missing persons report is no longer active. So that's pretty much confirmation I think.)

She apparently left willingly. Thailand has tourists as well and is some very cheap living as compared to here. I just watched a video of a young woman who does a lot of solo traveling and one of her trips was to Thailand, another to Vietnam and another yet to Bali and more. I wonder if Mulder had vacationed there before.

The issue with how the dog was left behind and the woman driving her car claiming to be Katelyn are two reasons I think something more nefarious is going on.

Or the other lady might have had warrants and gave Katelyn's name instead, thinking that would work. She "might" not have been aware somebody reported Katelyn missing. If that's not similar to what happened, then I would not be satisfied with the conclusion that she is 100% safe now.

I wonder if Mulder was running from any trouble. The fact her family said they'd welcome her back if she ever decided to come back seems to indicate though that she left of her own accord and wanted to.

She may have given someone her car and her dog if she planned to never come back. Also she wouldn't be able to take the dog on a plane, not to Thailand, out of country. Or the other woman somehow got access to her car. What happened to the dog was awful, whoever did that should have just let the dog loose, it would have had a fair chance then at least.

It sounds like LE, at the very least, think she is there of her own accord. Her family is notably and obviously still worried. But...she's an adult. Hopefully she reaches out.

Two recent posts by her mom:

Katie has been located and directly communicated with in Thailand by law enforcement and, to the best of our knowledge, is safe. We sincerely thank each and every person and organization who has reached out and shared her story. At this time, we have no further information to share but want Katie to know that our arms are open wide and here for her always and forever.

I am so grateful that my little girl is alive, but I still don’t feel like she’s safe. This Momma heart is painfully worried
💔
If anyone hears from her, please let me know and beg her to get in touch with her family, so she herself can speak to her health and safety.

It would seem as though she does not want to talk directly to her family and we have seen this before.

I had seen the first post in an article above which convinced me she was there of her own accord. The second one I hadn't seen and reading it makes it seem clear she has not talked to them directly. That's an adult right whether family likes it or not.

This woman who was driving her car must have taken Katelyn to the airport and then Katelyn gave her the dog and car too. So they still don't know who this woman is?

Ah @GrandmaBear I see you just said that too.

Also, the mum calling her "my little girl" seems a bit weird to me. She's 35 for goodness sake.

I bet it is something to do with drug trafficking.
