FFS!!! ALOT of people have PTSD! I was diagnosed. I'm not sure I even agree with that. And I am not in denial. I know quite a few people that have it. What about soldiers that have it?. That is because of combat, What they had to do and see. What she did. Had NOTHING to do with PTSD IMO. One More mental illness bulls**t claim!!!![]()

Derick Brown receiving treatment for PTSD; court awaiting reports on Brown’s ‘competency’
Derick Brown, the woman found guilty of kidnapping a 3-year-old in 2019, has been transferred from Jefferson County Jail to Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa in order to be “restored to competency.”
On November 22, 2023, Bryce Hospital submitted a status update on Brown, who, according to documentation, had been committed to the custody of the Alabama Department of Mental Health in July. Alaric O. May, Circuit Court Judge of Jefferson County, had ordered Brown be committed in order to restore her competency; This means Brown was deemed incompetent to stand trial but could be “restored to competency” through outpatient treatment.
According to the documents submitted by Bryce, Brown’s “treatment plan” included addressing her “depressed mood.” Documents state Brown said she feels depressed “all of the time.”
Bryce Hospital reported Brown had scored a 23 on the Beck Depression Inventory – Second Edition (BDI-II), which is a “moderate level of symptoms of depression.”
Furthermore, documents from Bryce stated that Brown was diagnosed with chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Finally, Bryce reported that Brown had been taking part in Courtroom Education classes as part of her competency restoration and had scored 80% correct on a quiz regarding her factual understanding and the same score on a quiz on her rational understanding.
Documents stated that on November 8, 2023, Jennifer Abernathy-Smith, Psy.D., evaluated Brown’s competency to stand trial.
Mark Schmidt, Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist, said he will submit Brown’s report to the court once it is complete.
A judge that said NO to more time wanted from the defense to prepare! I may well be in love. A judge with balls. I mean they've had as much time as the prosecution as is true in all cases so why would that be appellate worthy even?! This child was murdered 4.5 YEARS ago. Yeah, you need more time. B.S.![]()

Attorneys gear up for capital murder trial involving death of Kamille ‘Cupcake’ McKinney
Monday marked the last time Patrick Stallworth will likely appear in court before his trial in March. Stallworth is charged with two counts of capital murder involving the death of 3-year-old Kamille ‘Cupcake’ McKinney in October 2019. The state is seeking the death penalty.
A pretrial hearing is reserved for attorneys to sort out any issues with the judge ahead of trial. While there were no motions, the defense requested more time to prepare for trial. Jefferson County Circuit Judge Alaric May promptly denied the motion stating, “It’s time to get this case tried”.
Stallworth’s co-defendant Derick Brown is expected to stand trial on the same charges in the spring.
I am NOT EVEN going to go there or say what I am thinking because the b.s. here is CLEAR and I would not stop and I would lose it.![]()

Derick Irisha Brown, who faces capital murder charges in the murder of three-year-old Kamille “Cupcake” McKinney will have her trial delayed.
Brown was in court Monday for a status hearing. The hearing was to determine if her mental competency remains under review.
It was after her federal trial ended that concerns were raised over her mental status.
In July 2023, Brown was ordered to undergo treatment for depression. It was determined then that Brown suffers from chronic post-traumatic stress disorder.
Brown and her co-defendant Patrick Stallworth are already serving life sentences after being convicted on federal kidnapping charges of then three-year-old Kamille “Cupcake” McKinney.

CAPITAL MURDER TRIAL DELAYED IN JEFFERSON COUNTY CHILD KILLER CASE
Patrick Stallworth, one of two suspects charged with capital murder in the murder of 3-year-old Kamille “Cupcake” McKinney, appeared in court Tuesday for his status hearing.
Trial was originally set for September, however, majority of the evidence is still in federal custody.
Jefferson County Judge Alaric Mays informed the court that no trial will be set for either suspect until the federal process is complete.
In 2022, both Stallworth and his co-defendant in the case Derick Brown were found guilty of kidnapping that resulted in death and conspiracy to kidnap a minor victim.
They were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Brown and Stallworth will both be on trial for capital murder whenever those trials begin. They will be tried separately and Brown’s competency hearing scheduled for July.
You said it perfectly. I see NO reason for the delay other than bulls**t insanity tactics!!! NOT INSANE!!! Oh, But...THEY ALL ARE!!!! I'm depressed. I have anxiety. I have trouble sleeping. O.K. Me, Me, Me also. AND?!!!!One of the few we see that was no parent but complete strangers. One of the worst I've seen although we've seen many and how do you classify worst... ALL are bad.
And a woman involved, a "couple" in this heinous sh*t, and what they did to a little girl. Depraved beyond human-ness.
Yet they go to trial when it is obvious and clear what they did.
And of course Brown' has a competency thing.
Do I care? NO I DO NOT, in almost all of every such cases and competency, their actions and hiding things show they know right from wrong. This was a baby, an innocent little girl. Do NOT tell me it isn't a choice, I don't care if you are drug addicted or what your excuse is you STILL made a choice and you do not belong in society. You know if mental issues or addiction, you shouldn't be going to trial, you should be throwing yourself on the mercy of the public and court saying I did it and I have a serious problem and please help me fix it.
DISGUSTING and NOT HUMAN. You don't DO THESE THINGS TO A CHILD NOR TO ANYONE.
RIP Cupcake. One of the ones involved should be called a dump cake. Total depraved trash a dump. I haven't thought of anything fitting enough for him yet. There are not WORDS.
EXACTAMUNDO. Well said yourself gf. Miss you! No time here, likely the same for you with what life continues bringing. AND?!!!!
Well said my friend. I miss you too. Yes, Alabama is a death penalty state. USE IT!!!!EXACTAMUNDO. Well said yourself gf. Miss you! No time here, likely the same for you with what life continues bringing.
I don't know why people even get hung up on this stuff, when you know right from wrong, that has always been a good standard imo. When you are more a danger to society and public safety outweighs YOUR claim to whatever, that's IT! Why the F is this dance even done?!! Imo in almost all who claim it, you can already see and know of their efforts to hide what they did as they know it was wrong and SO lock the door and throw away the key.
And you have it DAMNED right if there is a case the DP is deserved, THIS, THIS, THIS heinous sh*t is one of them. The two of them off this earth and likely in HE77, I'm not the judge, but just a guess as to where they'd go, would be a BLESSING TO ALL OF MANKIND. And WOMANKIND. AND CHILDREN for SURE right Cupcake?
I am so sick of this let's give the perp a Kleenex and a pizza and a TV in their cell and if we show understanding and let them out they'll be good and behave. Where the HE77 is anyone's common sense these days? OR CONCERN for that matter?
This was and is a bad one. One of the worst. Not that all aren't, how do you say one is worse than another, all are dead or murdered but it is just beyond depravity.
You also have a good point in are they facing the DP, they SHOULD BE. Alabama has it. I'll have to find time to look back, I think perhaps they are, it said capital offense... So little time and this one hasn't been active until now again and I forget. However, I have not forgotten one bit of how this child was snatched and what was done to her!!
Especially when they BOTH have violent offense past records. WTF?!.EXACTAMUNDO. Well said yourself gf. Miss you! No time here, likely the same for you with what life continues bringing.

welcome to the world run by idiots these days. NO SH*T and yes WTF??!!! There are SOOOO many deaths where the blood is on the hands of CPS, officials, judges and more these days. They may not have been the perp but they let the perp walk free, etc. And such a LACK of people that care or yell about it. Sad and outrageous.Especially when they BOTH have violent offense past records. WTF?!.
5 years already?!!! But I bet the family has felt all 5 years. Those 2 deserve death!!! I'm so sorry "Cupcake".![]()
