Endangered Missing Advisory issued for pregnant woman who’s vehicle was torched in Lincoln

The Nebraska State Patrol issued an Endangered Missing Advisory on Thursday for a 26-year-old pregnant woman from Stromsburg after the vehicle she was believed to be driving was found burned in Lincoln.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said Hannah Neville, who is 32 weeks pregnant, was last seen in Stromsburg on Jan. 15 and is likely to have been traveling to Lincoln to meet her boyfriend, 27-year-old Roberto Tanner, also known as Robbie Tanner or Robbie Barker. The sheriff’s office said Tanner is not a suspect, but is considered a person of interest.

Lincoln Police said a vehicle owned by Neville was found engulfed in flames near 39th Street and Cornhusker Highway on Jan. 16. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the fire inspector.

Because of Neville’s advanced pregnancy, missed medical appointments and the torched vehicle, the sheriff’s office said she is considered missing and endangered.

Neville is 5’ 2″ tall, approximately 180 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen with a light blue Nike backpack. Her phone pinged 10 days ago on I-80 near Lincoln, according to the Endangered Missing Advisory.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at 402-747-2231 and request to speak with Sheriff Dwaine Ladwig or Investigator Brittany McCracken.

Nebraska authorities search for missing pregnant woman whose car was found abandoned in Lincoln

The Nebraska State Patrol has issued an endangered missing advisory for a 26-year-old woman.

Troopers said her known pinged 10 days ago near Lincoln on Interstate 80, and her car was found abandoned in Lincoln.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said the vehicle was found on a cul-de-sac near 24th and Cornhusker "engulfed in flames" with the interior "severely damaged." It does not appear to be a car accident, but they are still working to determine if the fire was accidental or on purpose.

Neville's disappearance is not a criminal investigation at this point. The Polk County Sheriff's Office said they're concerned because because people who know her say she was "excited and elated" about her pregnancy and always made her medical appointments.

this is sounding like that other one, probably nothing like it but pregnant, missing and she even looks a bit like her.

Can't think of the name right now. Rebecca I think, not sure of last name.

Praying she's okay but odds aren't great I'd say. Already gone for what, 14 days?

speak up or step up?

don't quite follow that one. this type doesn't step up, they kill. most likely in this case anyhow.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Tanner and Neville had an argument on Jan. 13.

The two had been living together, but Tanner removed his items from the house shortly after the argument and took them to a relative’s house.

What in the world. First, LE says he is a person of interest. Now, turns out he's been missing the whole time too and was likely killed?

Lincoln Police officials say missing woman, her boyfriend are dead

Lincoln Police Department officials said Monday that they believe a missing 26-year-old Stromsburg woman who was 32 weeks pregnant is dead along with her 27-year-old husband.

Lincoln Police Chief Michon Morrow said officials are still working to locate the bodies of Hannah Neville and Roberto Tanner, but they have arrested a Lincoln couple in connection with the death.

Sterling James was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder, and his wife, Sayde Titus, was arrested on suspicion aiding and abetting the killings.

Neville, who was from Stromsburg, was last seen Jan. 15 after heading out to see Tanner in Lincoln. Her burning car was found in Lincoln the next day.

Morrow said cell phone location data and witness statements placed Neville and Tanner at James' and Titus' apartment just before 7 p.m. on Jan. 15. Her device traveled to a site in northwest Lincoln at 8 p.m. and was there for several hours, before traveling to multiple other locations in the city before going offline the following afternoon.

She said witnesses told police that James said he shot and killed Neville and Tanner and buried their bodies. Titus is alleged to have helped him cover up the crime.

Brother-in-law charged with murder in case of missing pregnant woman whose car was found burned

Police in Nebraska believe a missing pregnant woman and her husband are dead, and two of their family members are in custody.

The Lincoln Police Department said Monday that Sterling James, 24, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder. His wife, Sayde Titus, 22, is also in the Lancaster County Jail, accused of two counts of aiding and abetting first-degree murder.

Lincoln Police Chief Michon Morrow said Hannah Neville, 26, was reported missing by her roommate and longtime friend after not hearing from her since Jan. 15.

Neville was 32 weeks pregnant and was last known to be on her way to Lincoln to pick up her husband, Roberto Tanner, 27. Tanner was later also reported missing to authorities.

Morrow said location data and witness statements placed the couple at James and Titus’ apartment in Lincoln just before 7 p.m. on Jan. 15.

Police said James and Tanner are half-brothers.

Investigators served a search warrant at James and Titus’ apartment and said James admitted to shooting Neville and Tanner and burying their bodies. Investigators believe Titus helped hide the bodies.

Police are still working to locate the bodies.

What in the he77? He killed his own family members?? And she was pregnant so killed the child too??

I think POI more means someone they want to find and/or talk to. But yeah, this is far different than it first sounded.

All in their 20s. What could be the reason here? Drugs? Money? Jealousy?

And killing both, or all 3 i should say. Then his wife I guess (though different last names) helps him cover it up too?

Well they went there for a reason... And things clearly didn't go well.

Authorities are at a location in Saunders County as part of the search for a Nebraska couple who are believed to be dead, Lincoln police confirmed to KETV.

Lincoln police said investigators are searching several locations, including in Lancaster and Saunders counties, since Monday. They do not know if the victims are together.

Digital evidence and tips led investigators to the area of Malmo, officials said.

‘Working in collaboration’: The search continues for missing Stromsburg couple

The Lincoln Police Department said they’re continuing their search in a homicide investigation that all started as a missing persons case.

Investigators said the Stromsburg couple, a pregnant 26-year-old Hannah Neville and 27-year-old Roberto Tanner, were killed and their bodies have not yet been found.

Channel 8 saw investigators using different machinery and probing through a large area of land.

LPD said they’re using different search methods and covering roughly 100 acres.

“Crime scene investigators, we had drones that scaled the area yesterday, a cadaver dog, so multiple different tools and individuals are working in collaboration,” said Erika Thomas, the public information officer for LPD.

Two people are in custody in connection with the couple’s presumed deaths.

One of them is Tanner’s half-brother, Sterling James, who lives in Lincoln and was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder.

His wife, Sayde Titus, is currently facing an aiding and abetting to first-degree murder charge.

LPD continues to ask anyone with information to contact them.

Again, LPD said this is an ongoing investigation, they’re still looking into where the shooting took place, and they’re also hoping to bring closure to their loved ones.

Human remains found during search for missing Stromsburg couple

The Lincoln Police Department confirmed Thursday that human remains have been discovered on a Saunders County property, one of the locations where authorities were searching for a missing Stromsburg couple.

Police said DNA testing will need to be done to confirm the identities. It’s unknown how many bodies have been located.

CSI technicians and investigators remain on scene collecting and processing evidence.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for the Lincoln man accused of murdering his half-brother and his pregnant wife.

James is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree murder of an unborn child and tampering with evidence. He is being held without bond.

Titus is charged with two counts of accessory to murder, one count of accessory to murder of an unborn child and tampering with evidence. Her bond was set at 10% of $1 million.

According to court documents, a witness told authorities that James admitted to shooting Neville and Tanner shortly after leaving a home in Lancaster County. The witness said Tanner was shot while running on a dirt road and Neville was shot in a vehicle.

The witness said James allegedly admitted to digging up and re-burying the bodies at a different location, police wrote. Police believe Titus helped hide the bodies.

Wow.

What in the heck is the motive here? Any idea?

Lincoln Police arrest 4 more people in couple's disappearance

Human remains found in Saunders County last week are believed to be those of a missing couple, Lincoln Police officials said Wednesday, as they also announced the arrests of four more people connected to the couple's disappearance.

Lincoln Police earlier this month arrested Sterling James, who is Tanner's half brother, and James' wife, Sayde Titus, in connection with the couple’s disappearance. James has been charged with murder in the deaths while Titus has been charged as an accessory.

Police officials said Wednesday they made four additional arrests of people who were involved with helping with the killings and/or tampering with evidence after the fact.

Those arrested were 57-year-old Kendall Hawthorne, 47-year-old Ammie Mitchell, 40-year-old Sheena Miller and 29-year-old Matthew Lickliter. All four live at a northwest Lincoln property where police believe Neville and Tanner went before they were killed.

LPD Capt. Ben Miller said that while investigators are still waiting on forensic results from the remains found last week in Saunders County, they believe they are those of Neville and Tanner. Autopsies were scheduled for Wednesday.

Officials said 47-year-old Ammie Mitchell, 57-year-old Kendall Hawthorne, 28-year-old Matthew Lickliter and 40-year-old Sheena Miller all face charges of accessory to murder and tampering with evidence.

They're accused of assisting Sterling James and Sayde Titus in the disappearance and presumed deaths of Hannah Neville and Roberto Tanner, investigators said.

Lincoln police said they are still awaiting pathology results, but they believe at this time the human remains that were recovered in Saunders County are those of Neville and Tanner.

So many arrested and involved. Wow. What the he77 was this all about...

Sounds like most of the family or something against this related couple for some reason...

‘Shame on you’: Hannah Neville’s friend sends message to multiple murder suspects now in custody

A close friend of Hannah Neville spoke out following Lincoln Police’s update to a triple homicide investigation on Wednesday morning.

Police’s announcement revealed four additional suspects have been arrested in connection with Neville and Roberto Tanner’s deaths, along with their unborn child.

Neville’s friend, Destiny DeWitt shared a message for the suspects with Channel 8.

“Shame on you. The fact that you would help at all with something like that, you have to be, you are a different type of evil,” said DeWitt. “I’m sorry that your life ended up being like that, and I hope that at least for the rest of it, you can be a better person for what you have left.”

DeWitt also describes the heartbreak the heartbreak of losing a friend so suddenly.

“Everybody’s absolutely heartbroken. You don’t expect these things to happen to you and when they do, they literally rip your heart out of your chest and almost impairs you,” said DeWitt.

DeWitt met Neville through a mutual friend a few years ago and says she could tell right away what type of person Hannah was.

“She was bubbly, happy. She was caring,” she said. “Every time she came over, she was so intent with my children because she was so meant to be a mom.Her aura was just phenomenal. You always felt happy when you were with her.”

DeWitt remembers the final days and weeks before her friend’s disappearance, emphasizing the pure anticipation Neville had for motherhood.

“She worked almost her entire pregnancy. She was so dedicated to this baby already that she wanted to make sure that she had everything and beyond for it that she worked and got her things that she needed,” she said.

The pregnancy would have been Neville’s first child.

“That’s why it’s so devastating because she was so excited and so ready, so deserving,” said DeWitt.
