Police search for Hailey Buzbee, missing ‘endangered teen’
Police in Indiana are asking for the public’s help in the search for missing teen Hailey Buzbee, who is described as an “endangered missing juvenile.”Hailey, 17, of Fishers, Indiana, was last seen at home on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, and her family believes she ran away. They believe she left the house between 10 p.m. and the early hours of the next morning.
Hailey’s father, Beau Buzbee, said his family had a normal day and he believes that his daughter had help from someone to leave the house.
Buzbee stated that his daughter does not have the resources she would need to run away, which is one of the reasons the family thinks she didn’t run away by herself.
Investigators have currently classified Hailey as a runaway because she left home voluntarily. Although many details of the search have not been shared, investigators did confirm that she didn’t act alone.
Based on information gathered during the search, police now consider her endangered.
Hailey’s family fears someone outside of her immediate social circle used social media to influence her. Investigators are examining social media along with interviewing Hailey’s friends.
Hailey reportedly left the home on foot, and her cell phone last pinged from her home, although the phone has not been located.
