NOPD: Mother, friend report woman missing after argument

New Orleans police are looking for a woman who was reported missing by her mother, friend and boyfriend.

Danielle Garrett, 27, left a voicemail for a friend on Saturday (Sept. 12), police said. The friend tried to return the call but it was declined, then the phone went to voicemail.

Investigators said the friend informed Garrett’s mother, who contacted Garrett’s boyfriend. Garrett’s boyfriend said that he had an argument with Garrett. He did not know Garrett’s whereabouts, and Garrett has not been seen or heard from since that time.

Officers did not give an exact location, but said the woman was missing from the NOPD 5th District that covers the 9th Ward to Bywater, and other neighborhoods in that area south of the interstate.

Garrett is described as a light-skinned Hispanic female standing about 5′8″, weighing about 160 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Garrett has tattoos on the top of both feet, back and left bicep.

Police included an image of a vehicle similar to Garret’s vehicle – a 2005 Ford Escape bearing Michigan license plate EHB0728.

Boy they are very vague, that's for sure. It isn't even clear if the phone call to the friend is before or after the bf claims she disappeared, as that gives no day or time either. It is encouraging if she left a vm that it was her but then scary the phone was off when she called her back. I wonder if the message itself was anything to worry about.

Hopefully, she just took off for a bit, I pray.

I'm thinking that her vehicle will be found at the airport, or some random apartment complex. I hope her loved ones check those places first, and then follow-up with parking lots in shopping areas. If it's not found within a week, then maybe she was upset and made a mistake and drove into a waterway. :(

I just looked all over the internet and could find absolutely nothing new about Danielles case. How is this?? No searches, no missing pages on Facebook, no statement saying she's been found. That's just not right, she deserves all of the same things done for her that any other missing person receives.
I guess there's a tiny possibility that searches are being done but are getting no media coverage but I doubt it. These types of cases really bother me. I wish there was something I could do to help.

This case bothers me all the time. I have never heard of a case where there's so little information. I can't even seem to find anywhere where the family is calling for searches or help through the media.
It's like hey this woman is missing and that's it. I bet Danielles boyfriend is happy there doesn't seem to be much worry about where she went because IMO she didn't just leave on her own.

Date of Last Contact June 27, 2022
NamUs Case Created October 6, 2022
Location Harahan, Louisiana
County Jefferson Parish

Piercing
Both nostrils are pierced.

Tattoo
Two black-inked lines across the bridge of her nose. Possible black-inked tattoo across the lower lip, midline.

Huh.

DG from the original post was listed as having tattoos on the top of both feet, back and left bicep. These are not mentioned with the new disappearance, but new tattoos on the face...
DG from the original post is listed as a Hispanic female. The new disappearance is listed as a white female (though sometimes some agencies list Hispanic as White).

Certainly appears to be the same person though. The nose piercings. Particularly the hairline. Looks like she was found after Sept. 2020 but disappeared again.
