KY CRYSTAL ROGERS: Missing from Bardstown, KY - 3 July 2015 - Age 35

The parents of a Kentucky woman last seen 10 days ago suspect foul play in her disappearance.

Crystal Rogers, 35, a mother of five, was last seen by her live-in boyfriend, Brooks Houck, on July 3, according to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.

Houck has said he had nothing to with Rogers’ disappearance. He has been extremely cooperative with investigators, police said, and he took a polygraph test.

A Kentucky police officer has been fired for allegedly tampering with an investigation regarding the missing girlfriend of his brother, who has just been named the only suspect in her disappearance.

Crystal Rogers, 35, has been missing since July 3. Her boyfriend, Brooks Houck, has claimed the last time he saw the mother of five was the night before, playing games on her phone.

The only clue in Rogers disappearance was her maroon Chevy Impala, which was found unlocked and with a flat tire on Bluegrass Parkway on Saturday.

Inside were her keys, purse and uncharged phone.

They are going to do more than one part on this case but here is the first one. Only about 15 minutes. The Draper Brothers.

Boy this town has a lot of missing and dead people and so many unsolved, can't they solve any of them? Just sayin'...

Now as we know the FBI has taken over...

I always find it interesting to skim and read some of the comments under all case videos... This one is no different, one usually finds some people from the area and more...

I don't know that they have anything new but more is to come and he also plans on going there in person and this will definitely put some eyes on it and get people talking about the case some more.

'You fail every day you don't find her' | Family continues search for missing Louisville mother

In July 2020, a farmer discovered human remains on his property along the bank of Hardins Creek, near the Washington and Nelson County line.

While the family of missing Bardstown mother Crystal Rogers was notified of the remains, the FBI has yet to announce who they may belong to. Instead, the FBI released a description of the person: a woman aged 24 to 82 between 5'2 and 5'9.

Rest of the article about another missing woman, Andrea Knable.

FBI: Human remains found in Nelson County in July didn't belong to Crystal Rogers

The human remains found in Nelson County close to where Crystal Rogers went missing do not belong to her, according to the FBI Friday.

The remains were discovered July 23 near the border of Nelson and Washington counties, the Nelson County Sheriff's Office said.

"The FBI and our law enforcement partners understand that many in the community were hopeful that these remains would bring answers to the Crystal Rogers case," an emailed FBI news release states. "This latest development most certainly does not affect the unwavering resolves of the FBI personnel assigned to investigate the disappearance of Crystal Rogers."

They still have not been identified, according to the sheriff's office.

Crystal Rogers, a mother of five, was last seen on July 3, 2015, at the home the 35-year-old shared with her boyfriend Brooks Houck and the couple's young son. Two days later, her unlocked Chevy Impala was found along Kentucky's Bluegrass Parkway with a flat tire and her belongings still inside. The Nelson County Sheriff officially named Crystal’s boyfriend a suspect in her disappearance in October of 2015. Houck's brother, who worked as a Bardstown police officer, was terminated from the department after officials say he interfered with the investigation into Crystal's disappearance. Danny L. Singleton, a longtime employee of Houck, was charged with 38 counts of perjury for lying to investigators under oath in December of 2015. Houck was arrested in July of 2018 on four felony theft counts and four misdemeanor theft counts, unrelated to Crystal’s disappearance. He pleaded not guilty to all charges. On April 25, 2019, a jury found Houck not guilty on charges that he stole roofing shingles from a Nelson County Lowe's store. No charges have been filed in connection with Crystral’s disappearance, but officials have said they believe Crystal is dead. In August 2020, the FBI took over as the lead agency in the investigation. More than 150 state and federal law enforcement officers arrived in Bardstown and executed new search warrants at several properties connected to Crystal’sboyfriend. Nothing has been found and the investigation remains ongoing. The FBI's Crystal Rogers Task force website was created so people can share information regarding the case. There is a $25,000 reward for information that leads to her whereabouts. If you have any information regarding Crystal’s case, please contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit www.crystalrogerstaskforce.com.

After long custody battle, Crystal Rogers' mother denied right to see her grandson

After a long-fought custody battle, a Nelson County Circuit judge has denied Sherry Ballard the right to visit her grandson, the son her missing daughter, Crystal Rogers, shared with her former boyfriend, Brooks Houck.

Rogers, a mother of five, disappeared on July 3, 2015. Two days later, her car was found on the Bluegrass Parkway with a flat tire and her purse, keys and phone inside. Houck, the boy's father and primary guardian, is the only suspect to ever be named in Rogers' disappearance.

Issuing a final ruling on the custody battle Saturday, Nelson Circuit Judge Stephen Hayden argued that "there is clear and convincing evidence significant hostility exists between the Ballard family and Houck such that it poses a significant risk of emotional harm" to the child.

Rogers' child, Ballard's grandson, was 2 years old when Rogers disappeared. Ballard and her late husband filed a petition for grandparent visitation just weeks after Rogers went missing.

Ballard's husband, Tommy Ballard, was shot and killed in November 2016. No arrests have been made in connection to his death or Rogers' disappearance.

What about the "significant risk of emotional harm" to the child who is living with his mother's murderer? He might not know it now, but he will one day.

And this man was named a suspect!! Not like he is someone that was never named of interest in her disappearance/murder.

A few months ago this was on the radar again on the internet with the very clear in this case (or so it seems) corruption in this area. I mean we have father and daughter dead. We have a cop dead... And a brother let go (of the suspect in her case and who worked for LE)... Now we have a judge who denied the woman who lost both daughter and husband the right to see her grandson?? And he is in the hands of the one named a suspect??

I get that parents have more rights than grandparents, that is just a fact. However, I don't see why in this case...

I have to wonder if the judge lives under a rock and hasn't heard what happened to Susan Cox Powell's little boys? I thought that would wake up the court systems all over the nation!

So the boys' other siblings live with the grandmother. No emotional damage there either right being away from his sibs and grandma and already lost his mom and being isolated with his father and his new gf who has his mama's name? From what I understand the entire town and anyone who has heard of this case speculate and think he killed the boy's mother and people believe it for good reason. Protecting him from that I guess would take daddy isolating him and moving with the new Crystal... Just taking him from grandma is not going to stop that being heard in that area by the child. Yet nope, just stay and run into sibs and grandparent, etc. at Walmart... Just HOW do they think this child can be protected from hearing anything?

I wonder how they are doing getting to the bottom of the other deaths?.... Just sayin'...
