The Leavenworth Sheriff’s office received a 911 call from a home in the 14900 block of Hillside Road. When deputies arrived they found an 11-year-old and 14-year-old boy dead and two young girls missing. MSHP tweeted “the suspect in the abduction and the incident is the father Donny Jackson.”

At this time, it is unknown if Jackson is the father of the two young males who were found dead.

The Arkansas State Police agreed to launch an Arkansas AMBER Alert to assist in the recovery of the abducted children.

Mom speaks out after 2 sons killed, 2 daughters kidnapped in Lansing, KS

The woman whose estranged husband allegedly fled from Lansing to Oklahoma with her two daughters after killing her two sons has spoken out, releasing a statement thanking those who helped bring her young daughters home safe.

Tara Jackson shared the statement through her attorney Gary Nelson. In it, she calls the deaths of her two sons "a traumatic loss" and takes the time to thank everyone who helped bring her two girls home safe.

"There is a lot of unanswered questions," the statement reads.

The statement, in full, reads:

As many of you know, my client, Tara Jackson and her family suffered a traumatic loss of two of her oldest children and the kidnaping of two daughters.
On behalf of Tara Jackson, her family and friends, she would like to thank everyone who came together to bring her daughters home safe on Saturday. The Leavenworth County Sheriff's Department, Kansas Bureau of Investigations, Kansas Highway Patrol, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Beckham County Sheriff's Department, the unknown truck driver that called in a vital sighting, the various law enforcement agencies in the Towns and Counties along the way, and the many other people that helped search. Tara also appreciates the media and reporters who played a large part in getting the information out concerning the abduction of her daughters and assisted in locating them.
In addition, she wants to thank everyone that has offered support and assistance in her family's time of need. I would like to ask that you respect her privacy during these next very hard few weeks and months that Tara and her family have ahead of them.
There is a lot of unanswered questions concerning the events of Saturday October 24, 2020 and other matters over the last several months. However, there is an open investigation and pending litigation, therefore I will not answer questions at this time.

Man charged with capital murder in death of 2 sons waives extradition

The man at the center of a capital murder case involving his two young sons will soon be on his way back to Kansas.

Donny Jackson Jr. has signed a written extradition waiver, and will likely soon be transported from Oklahoma to Kansas to face charges alleging he murdered his two sons, Logan, 14, and Austin, 12. Jackson is also accused of, but not charged with, kidnapping his daughters Aven, 3, and Nora, 7.

The Leavenworth County attorney has charged Jackson with one count of premeditated capital murder, or in alternative, two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Logan and Austin.https://www.kmbc.com/article/mother...ks-for-privacy-donny-jackson-jr-case/34511244

I still can't even make sense of this case. I can't think of another quite like it.

I wonder if the girls would have also ended up dead had he not fortunately been apprehended or what his intent was, if he had a plan that is. No doubt he was dangerous, I don't mean that but what was his intent? Killing the boys and taking the girls? I guess my thought is at this point the boys refused to go with or go along or tried to stop him from taking the girls or any of them...

Kansas man whose son is accused of killing two boys is charged with sex crimes

The father of a Leavenworth County man who is charged with killing his two young sons has been charged with two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

According to a criminal complaint filed on Feb. 23, Donald Jackson Sr., of Easton, allegedly touched a child inappropriately between July and August 2019, in Leavenworth County.

Several months earlier, in June, Jackson was arrested for the same charges in a separate incident between August 2018 and December 2019, according to an affidavit.

The victims in both cases were under the age of 14 at the time of the alleged crime, court records show. The Star does not typically identify the victims of sex crimes, particularly those who are juveniles.

Officials on Wednesday confirmed to The Star that Jackson, who was 62 at the time of his first arrest, is the father of Donald Jackson Jr., who is accused of fatally shooting his young sons in October.

His son remains in the Leavenworth County Jail.

The elder Jackson is scheduled to appear in court for a competency hearing on May 28 via Zoom. Donald Jackson Jr.’s next court appearance, a status hearing, is scheduled for May 20.
