ONGOING CRIME BREAKING NEWS!

Starting in January 2020, this thread is about the news as it breaks!

Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

IMO- stay in jail

So in looking for other things, ran into this one. So the suitcase trial is starting today. So (and maybe more) we have Quinton Simon going on, Delphi starting today and this one. I don't think there's a thread on here on Sarah Boone, at least I never have ran into one plus it's a case I haven't followed on YT either but have run into some about it as many do follow it out there, and know the basics. And maybe some here follow it but haven't on here, so linking live coverage.

I'm not taking on new ones hereon out on here but in the event someone is following this or interested, linking it.

Too bad his victims didn't survive a botched attempt. Are we to feel bad he went through a botched attempt? Get it done already.

It's interesting. One time a death penalty inmate was put to death, the coroner declared him officially dead. He then came back to life.

His lawyer argued that he had served his sentence and should be released.

Obviously not, but it was an interesting argument about the law.

Human remains found in Jay after tip sent regarding Kimberly Moreau disappearance

Police in Jay are investigating after human remains were found in the woods near Elm Street, raising hopes that the discovery may shed new light on the decades-long search for Kimberly Moreau, who went missing 38 years ago.

The remains were found after a tip was given to Richard Moreau, Kimberly’s father. He believes they could be connected to his daughter's disappearance.

"I'm just tired of waiting, but I've been waiting for 38 years," Moreau said. "But I'm also looking at it this way: we now know that it is human, and at least one family is going to get an answer."

While authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the remains, Richard Moreau is hoping this development may finally bring closure to his family after nearly four decades of searching for answers.

Yeah, I guess that's a unique and interesting try anyhow... By his lawyer...

WAS dead. Didn't successfully complete the sentence. Sorry. You have to redo the test.

Skeletal remains found in Maine woods not of missing Kimberley Moreau, father says
While they say the remains ended up not being Kimberley Moreau’s, her father, Richard, isn't giving up hope.

That long waiting. How awful. Not knowing is worse IMO.

Boyfriend was playing hide and seek. Uhhh...Way back in 2020. Geez. Another woman was just found in a suitcase in an abandoned homeless camp's garbage heap. Last seen approximately a year ago. There's been several. Treated like garbage.

Right now they have questioned a detective on a Miranda warning, And the judge will not reduce the charges. Sarah Boone.
